me personally, i think giratina needs a whole new ability, like, i'll name em "twisted dimension" or "distorted dimension" that reverses type matchup for set amount of turns (Like 4-5) or until giratina's switched out/fainted. for his Attack form, i completely ran out of ideas.
I think Truant should just prevent Slaking from using attacking moves twice in a row. That way you could use something like Double-Edge > Protect > Double-Edge, or Tera Blast > Bulk Up > Slack Off > Tera Blast. Make your opponent question when you're attacking, and when you're using status.

Technician on Tyrantrum is what pulled me out. You did a good earlier in the video making sure the pokemon god buffs based on design and lore (sharpness for Kabutops for example) but just giving the big angry T-Rex technician and knock off doesn’t fit it at all. It DOES make it better as a pokemon but it doesn’t make it more interesting.
I enjoyed the video. The only thing is that when buffing a pokemom, origins and concept, as well as the original language of Japanese should be given consideration. before giving pokemom, moves, abilities, or such buffs. For example, dewpider is based on scubba spiders that weave silk threads to capture air bubbles in the water which is why water bubble was given to him as an ability giving it to armaldo who is based on anomalocaris has nothing to do with design concept or origin. And thats just one example i could make from this video. Hope this wasn't too critical just an important thing to keep in mind. Also why are all the stat sheets the same?
1. Sacred sword doesnt fit it thematically. Give it any other slash move like night slash 2.Aerodactyl does not have claws so I would keep the same abilities all it needs is brave bird and a better rock move 3. Stop giving mons with a good attack water bubble bro. WHERES THE BUBBLES? 4. The creature cradily is based on isnt very sturdy but they can regenerate. Regenerator fits it better 5. No guard doesnt fit it, give bro rock head. PLEASE
There are so many issues with this video. Most notably is the Stat Spreads. Why do NONE of the bars make sense? You just reused the same asset with different numbers which is very distracting. Also Water Bubble? Huge Power? Do you want them in Ubers? This is not a good video
Thing is dracovish in gen 9 would be hell incarnated because tera water + strong jaw + scarf + stab + rain, would one shot anything weak to it and prob one shot anything resisted if not almost. So i do think game freak did good to not add him to SV
I'm pretty critical towards many of these but Water Bubble on Armaldo is just nonsense. Really, this is Araquanid's signature ability and he only has 70/50 attacking stats to balance it out.
Armaldo doesn't also have water STAB to stack with it but you're still correct lol I just finished a run in a game that gave Grapploct Water Bubble and it was insane.

So... Sableye and regigigas, the perfect combo to deal with everything but themselves. Also, that emergency exit buff is nasty. I think it would be more fair to keep it working as is, but instead of switching out immediately, it switches out at the end of the turn. this way golisopod has a chance to deal damage, and it differentiates from wimp out, which is functionally the exact same ability.

if i had to buff archeops, i would buff its speed stat and keep all the other stats the same while giving it smth like tough claws for extra dmg with contact moves. then, i'll get rid of defeatist and replace it with a custom archeops-only ability. then i'll give it a buncha new moves

I feel like bastiodon would be better suited with a buff to its HP than its SpDef. It has the same issue as shuckle, where its bulk means nothing when its HP pool is so shallow. Filter is definitely the best ability for it tho, without just removing the steel typing holding it down
Here's two ideas. How would you buff the Unovan Monkeys? How would you buff bad mon with good Megas (Kangaskhan, Mawile, Lopunny, etc) to make them more viable without mega evolution?

My patience for the regi vid never wanes, just gets stronger. Just made an ability that works like chilly reception but sets sun instead if the regi uses a pivot move. Found a nice niche for being a hard hitting but also fast sun pivot.
Enough times passed from the signature move vid so Regis will finally be entering the Member polls for our next one of these which I'm posting last weekend in January, so either pray the members vote in regi vid or join and vote for it!!

Here’s a idea. Buff slacking by ether swapping its truant ability for slow start which doesn’t seem like much but it gets several recovery moves so it may be able to out last the 5 turn debuff and maybe run under trickroom the 1st 5 turns then after trickroom has faded be at full power. Or the second idea would be to just give slacking entrainment so it can give oponets truant evening thr playing field slightly
Pair a Slaking w/ Protect with a Pokémon that knows Mat Block and Protect, you can perfectly outlast Slaking's 5 start-up turns by alternating protection moves.
@ yup also if slacking had slow start instead of truant it wouldn’t need to depend on rest for recovery like regigigas. So while slow start seems like a bad idea for it it just feels like being forced to move only every other turn is worse than slow start overall. At least without things like entrainment to force the oponet to suffer the same or skill swap

@@aaronking2020 Slaking has Restricted Legendary stats. You HAVE to either nerf it's stats or give it a detrimental ability to balance it out. Truant is just too detrimental for it to be viable, especially in VGC where almost every pokemon can just click Protect on the turn that Slaking actually gets to move. Personally I like what pokerogue did, which was giving it Stall so that it was simply forced to always move last it it's priority bracket.

So @andrewisgood brought up why Archeops shouldn’t be given a stat reduction. So I think that the best way to buff Archeops would be to get rid of Defeatist and have it evolve late in game. Maybe give it Emergency Exit but change that ability to give priority to pivot moves at low health instead of being a Wimp Out clone

The stat displays really confuse and disorient me. Omastar for example having a high bar for 60 attack and a low one for 125 spatk. If you’re going to use the same base image for all of the stats then I think something like silvally (where all the starts are the same) would work better. Currently your display draws attention to the stat bars over the stats themselves but I think if the bars are all the same length it would bring more attention to the actual stats

To me, Dracozolt suffered due to its abilities seemingly crippling it. With Hustle and Sand Rush, they hindered it's potential by either dooming powerful attacks or a circumstantial passive injury. Dracovish won out BECAUSE of not only Fishous Rend, but it's Strong Jaw ability. If you want to be nasty, increase Dracozolt's Special Defense or Speed by 25 (at the cost of Special Attack, if you don't want to go over the Base Stats) and give it a neutral nature.
Sand rush protects from sand recoil. And he also has Volt Absorb.

i really enjoy these videos thus far. one minor constructive criticism that i have is about the stat spreads. i loathe having to scroll through bulbapedia multiple times just to actually be able to view them so i totally understand reusing the same chart for multiple pokemon- but the number values not corresponding to the bar graph values sparks a little neurotic fire in my brain. its not that serious at all and doesnt really impact the quality of the video but just my cheap 2 cents

I think a major reason why so many fossil pokemon are terrible is because of typing. Adding the rock typing just holds a lot of these pokemon back
Yeah. I mean if bastiodon was even just Steel/Ground it would be so much better, because of its insane defenses being held back by its awful typing, or if Rampardos had a decent defensive typing like Dragon/Fighting or something. Literally every single fossil pokemon is held back by being a bad type.
I think Mycelium Might, should still make status move go last but every status works, regardless of type, abilities and items.

Arctovolt having a 90 base speed and an electric move that is 85 power and doubles if it moves first while having ice stab for bolt beam coverage is crazy especially when it can be put on a snow team and double its speed maybe then snow will be good

The issue with nerfing the stats for Archeops is it removes the reason for its existence. Its stats and its Pokedex number are 567, which is on purpose and based on the Dewey Decimal system libraries use. 567.9 is for dinosaurs. My guess is some nerd at gamefreak knew that and build Archeops around it. I would probably modify how defeatist works. I think the reason that ability exists is that regular Pokemon don't normally get that high, with Florges toping out at 554. I actually think some sublegendaries should be buffed from 570 to 580, as that was the number for so long. This would include the Loyal 3, which all have 555 stat lines. I would do the same for Urshifu, but I'd probably just throw 25 extra points into its special attack, but I like it when things line up like that.

Auroras is outclassed by Alolan Ninetails. It’s also a slow bulky Ice-Rock type, which is probably the second worst defensive type in the game after Ice-Bug (maybe Bug-Grass?). Solution: Auroras gets a new ability that both sets Snow and establishes Aurora Veil.
Fwiw Aurorus on trick room would be a monster especially because it's a snow mon that easily pressures other snow mons while also having spread with hyper voice or blizzard, it has a legitimate niche over ninetales
im not sure about giving Kabutops sacred sword, yeah it would be nice, but all the mons who currently learn the move have something to do with swords in some way, but i do agree with giving Kabutops access to Sharpness (replace weak armor with it and that would be great) since that ability makes so much sense for it. Also that is a great call giving Aerodactyl access to head smash and brave bird, it's been desperately needing those moves for years to finally take advantage of Rock Head edit: i also think that not all the fossils need to have their stats buffed to 520, it's fine with them having a diversity in stats, especially on aerodactyl who got a mega in gen 6 so buffing it's stats are out of the question in my opinion, but i want to say for Tyrantrum, giving it access to intimidate instead of technician makes a lot more sense, it's a T.Rex so intimidate is just really fitting for it
Part of me believes that unless they get extremely powerful moves and/or abilities or if they have a gimmick form change that requires one form to be much weaker, no fully-evolved pokemon can justifiably have a BST below 500 unless the stats are extremely min-maxed, at least from a competitive perspective. From a singleplayer RPG perspective though, having lower base stats when fully evolved is justifiable by having the evolutions come really early, which would make the pokemon really good in the early-mid game but then fall off later down the line.

To add onto this, the pokemon that evolve early but have weaker stats can be brought back into competitive relevance by giving them those busted signature moves and hidden abilities. Hidden abilities are almost never obtainable until post-game and the powerful signature moves can be made to learn at high levels.
