Honestly doesnt even need the mega you could just keep spamming fish rend in base and mega evolve if you think you have enough power. But tbh one thing sharpedo would be weak to is mach punch, water immunities and vaccuum wave
one way i think is a great way to buff ampharos is just giving its parabolic charge, its a weak move but give a lot more recovery then most draining moves, it can help make ampharos be the bulky offensive mon it wants to be by lasting a lot longer
@@yonkodude should probably say that i meant that its on the mid power range for a draining move (most good ones being 75 or higher) but also yea 65 base power coming from 165 spc.atk still hits hard
Nah I feel like inner focus would benefit it more. It blocks intimidate and flinches which are valuable in doubles, and doesnt take away from regular gallade's niche. It has more attack to make up for the sharpness loss and it not losing attack thanks to intimidate is best. One intimidate would nullify its sharpness anyways
@@bigmonke3348 the higher attack does not quite make up for it, a sharpness boosted move would lose about 12% of its original damage which is... Fine Had Gen 9 not buffed Inner Focus this would not even be a question tho
I think megas need their own moves- like how Zacian & Zamazenta's Iron Head transforms into Behemoth Blade & Behemoth Bash in their Crowned formes. This would allow every Mega to get arbitrary buffs that can let even the worst of them hold a much more solid niche, notably mons like Beedrill, Aggron, Ampharos, and Lopunny. Overpowered signature moves that can also be used while mega evolved would help these out a lot while also making them feel more personal. There's also some ability to reference the card game in this way, which'd be cool.
Ooh, I like this idea. Makes sense, given some of their base formes used to have signature moves that are now underpowered and widely-distributed. Make Mega Twinneedle 2x60BP, Mega Blaze Kick boost Attack, etc.
that sharpedo buff is so broken, viability instantly going from UU to UBERS. giving fisheous rend to a strong jaw who maxes its speed out to 508 is going to be so busted, but then again storm drain viability goes up too ig

Yeah Urshifu is intimidate proof thanks to crits and hits through protect, but Sharpedo is also immune to Prankster WoW/Thunderwave and is OHKOing almost everything not protecting.
I don't think Glalie and Pinsir should get eSpeed, I don't see their nonmega forms making sense with the move and their abilities already buff the normal moves they use. Quick Attack is a move I can see either of them getting and after the -ate buffs it's gonna hit pretty hard
Let's use actual logic here: if most actual Normal types don't get access to Extremespeed, then why a mon with roided out stats and the ability of changing said move's typing to a way better one (on top of a boost to its power) should have it?! It doesn't make sense balance wise.
Eh, the ones he chose to get Espeed actually have some synergy with it, and, uh, don't EXACTLY have roided out stats. Its +100 stat total Glalie and Pincer we're talking about here, both with God awful typing (Stealth Rock says hello). And also since when have the devs actually cared about balance when we have Annihilape and Spidops come out in the same game. Or care about making sense, for some reason they didn't give Slither Wing Bug Dragon typing and gave it *fighting*? Best to just throw out the buffs that give a mon a cool niche, as the best mons don't always have the best stats, its the ones that have the most answers to everything (AKA incineroar).
@MiNcEdGaRlIcS They both have Arceus-level attack stats and the ability to convert ESpeed to two typings better than Normal offensively, while getting a boost on it. It's still broken and stupid. In singles SR won't matter that much for them, because they both won't have to eat an hit to sweep due to Espeed having +2 priority. In VGC, SR is pretty much non-existent, which leaves them even more free to cause havoc and wreck whole teams. Also, using stupid shit to defend stupid shit isn't an actual good argument for stupidity, because stacking stupid on top of stupid won't make the game better or more healthy: it will just make it more stupid. What are people going to suggest next? Giving Boomburst, a move which no Normal type with more than 100 SpA gets, to freaking Sylveon?
If your giving Mega Ampharos thunderclap then you don't need to change the mold breaker ability The mons with mold breaker can use priority even when Tsareena and farigiraffe are on the field
Nobody is using special absol, so take points out of its special attack and dump them into its speed and bulk. Reducing its special attack to its pre-mega stat of 75 gives up 40 points to play with. I would just dump all of it into speed giving absol the mega beedrill treatment.
Put 20 into speed and 10 in both defenses and give it the ability dazzling and dark/fairy typing instant OU pokemon and good in doubles due to offensive pressure and good ability that helps the team
I personally think Mega Sceptile just needs a better ability. I personally think they should flip sceptile/mega sceptile's attack and special attack stats, so that it can actually use its former signature move Leaf Blade. Then give it sharpness, dragon stab that benefits from sharpness, sacred sword to hit steels. We'd have our first offensive grass type since like... Kartana lol
I think giving it a new ability that is similar to lighting rods, but instead of just boosting sp atk, it'll boost the highest attacking stat you have on sceptile. So you can choose what sceptile you want to use. A physical or special attacker.
@@yolow105 sceptile would be much faster and hit harder, the main difference is that Rillaboom is tankier and has priority, but is dependent on that priority to go first and it's dependent on the terrain to get the priority, and even then it doesn't hit as hard because grassy glide is low base power. Mega Sceptile is so fast that it doesn't even need priority to go first most of the time, and it would hit very hard. They are both physical grass types but they fill very different roles
4:18 If you give Mega Glalie RAPID SPIN it can be a incredible check to Goldengo It has just enough attack to check the money Bag after a resisted Rapid Spin With Earthquake and enough speed to outrun it as long it’s not using a Scarf on top of a speed boosting nature So Mega Glalie can a have a good Niche there on being the most reliable Rapid Spin user Plus good ice type damange
I think giving mega abomasnow a snow/hail version of primodial sea and desolate land would be a perfect fix for it. I would name it like Frozen Empire or Absolute Zero and this will extinguish fire moves (since during blizzard it is hard to create a fire) and increase the chance to freeze.
For completion, make mega tyranitar get the sandstorm equivalent. Add the gravity effect (so dangerous sandstorm that no one can fly), and non ground, steel and rock takes 1/8 damage instead.
I like most of these buffs but to be honest I would push some buffs way more, Mega Audino would be amazing with friend guard kinda busted but if you are going to use a mega on a support Pokémon then it’s okay, mega ampharos could have electric surge ability
There are a lot of editing mistakes in this video. I reckon another run through may help. Nothing major just moves with wrong typings. Unclear slides. Just an observation the scripting is great and concept i agree with xx. We love it
Why give Swampert last respects? It's not even a ghost type. Give it Jet Punch. There is no point in giving buffs if it doesn't work with the design of the Pokémon. Might as well give everyone Geomancy or Fishous Rend at that point. Edit: other complaints Aerodactyl is not a Bird. Don't give it Brave Bird. Just keep the Dual Wingbeat it got from SwSh. Mega Altaria is the only physical Pixelate user. Mega Gardevoir and Sylveon already exists. Don't nerf its attack.
Fwiw I think the editing didn't help but the intention was describing the niche that basculegion had over mega pert, and my editor mistook me mentioning another move for one I meant for pert and this just got lost in translation. The first 3 moves were meant to be the only buffs it got, but I can see where you mistook this for something intended for mega pert. As for the rest mega altaria wouldn't hold up no matter what physical move it got, even mega ralamence runs mixed sets despite it's greater atk than spatk and it has double edge. It's the spread special move for hyper voice + how many Intimidate mons pressure altaria this wouldn't be as usable and it's niche over garde and sylv is the typing anyway not that it's physical Aero just needs a good flying stab dual wingbeat wouldn't make it viable it's still too weak for a lot of megas and we've had crazier mons get brave bird!!
@@oLivSama Mega Swampert: 1) Ok 2) also it has jets in its arms Mega Aerodactyl: 1) If Dual Wingbeat is too good that it was removed from Dragonite, it's good enough. Also, it's boosted by Tough Claws and KO's vs Focus Sash. 2) Still not a Bird 3) We can give it Sky Attack and give it the Electo Shot/Solar Beam clause except in Tailwind. 4) Give Sky Drop back because it's funny, yet useful. Mega Altaria: 1) Fairy Type Extreme Speed to KO other Dragons seems fun 2) Having a strong accurate Physical Fairy move seems good. Also it learns Body Slam and learns bulk up to be the almost physical version of Sylveon 3) Give it Body Press to combo with the +3 from Cotton Guard. (People would tera fighting more though) 4) Rest, Sleep Talk, Facade, Boosting move of choice seems fun 5) if you really want special, Pixelate Boosted Fairy type Boomburst is hilarious.
i mean aerodactyl is a dinosaur, and dinoasurs are birds also it makes sense since brave bird is just smacking shit really hard with wings and guess what aerodactyl has (and also base aerodactyl has rock head so that would make it good)
So i fw the vision my goal tho was avoiding any megas like outright being a top 5 mega (mence ray kang yard meta) but instead more like maw or garde type of viability, sand stream pre mega would be at worst tying mence probably and tyranitar offers such good synergy anyway with chomp I don't wanna attempt to invalidate that here. Despite popular opinion I wanted to ATTEMPT balancing here with the vid LOL
Which one? Not all legendary signature moves are created equal. Fiery Wrath? It's just a spread Dark Pulse. Cool, but not really broken. Thunderclap? Just a special electric Sucker Punch. Fishious Rend? Dracovish is not a legendary. Fishious Rend is really powerful, but Dracovish was never viable in VGC unfortunately, so it'll be fine. Victory Dance? It's Hisuian Lilligant's signature move, and she's not a legendary. Victory Dance is cool, but Heracross has the same 4x weakness to Flying that H.Lilligant has. It'll be fine.
@@Nosretep look at the sword of justice there signature move was sacred sword but now its the gallade took it as his own and is tearing up UU with a 12.5% better no drawbacks close combat
I want mega lopunny to have some of the following: a boosting move either tidy up or victory dance, and a good normal stab. Either give her extreme speed or just give her back return and make it a line exclusive move since it’s basically their whole theme anyways. Lopunny is a great pivot but it would be cool to see a set up variant, or a pivot who could break if given the chance.
Mega Garchomp: Base Speed 101, remove the relevant points form its Special Attack. +Intimidate as an ability over Sand Force. Altaria: -30 Attack, +15 to its Defence and Special Defence. It'll spam Hyper Voice more than anything, with support moves. A Sceptile: Draco Meteor, Shed Tail. +Unique Tinted Lens ability. Manetric: I agree, Energy Ball makes a ton of difference. Scald too since Raikou got it. Audino: REGENERATOR OR MAGIC BOUNCE, THATS IT. FRIEND GUARD WOULD'VE MADE IT VGC KING. Abomasnow: Grassy Surge. Setting up Snow AND Grassy Terrain turns this thing into a fucking beastly support Mon. Aggron: -15 Speed, +15 Attack. -15 Defence, +15 Special Defence. Gyro Ball, Heavy Slam. I think Filter is a perfect ability. Steelix: Earth Eater + Heavy Slam. -20 Defence, +20 Special Defence. Houndoom: I like Dark Aura. Sharpedo: its hard to buff without going overboard.. Wave Crash helps. Swords Dance, or even Work Up? Heracross: Honestly, buff multi-hit moves and you're golden. Drop 10 Points from its Speed and put it towards Defence. Ampharos: Thunderclap, Parabolic Charge, Draco Meteor. The ability Fluffy. Camerupt: -10 from Speed, -15 from Attack, +25 to Special Attack. Make this thing a trick room nuclear bomb. Aerodactyl: erm... Swap Tough Claws for something like... Uhh... Hm. Mold Breaker? Maybe? Tough Claws is so meh when Stone Edge and Earthquake are your go-to moves. Beedrill: TINTED LENS. Beedrill suffered because Bug/Poison is dogass offensively, so Adaptability meant nothing. Getting *unresisted hits* makes it way better. Also things like Taunt would help too.
Gen 9 just gave Sceptile Shed Tail and Aggron always has Heavy Slam since the move was made, Steelix too at least since gen 8 Also they could always bring back and overhaul Rock Climb by making a Rock-type direct contact move (like it always should’ve been) with much more distribution among rocks
@goGothitaLOL Rock Climb 100% should've been Rock type. I didn't realise Heavy Slam was part of Aggron and Steelixes Movepool while they were Megas. Clearly didn't make much difference then 😭
@@celestialenigma3874 no, I just had a brain fart and didn't realise they *did* get Heavy Slam. Body Press being a unique move for the two would've been suuuper cool though
I'd be keen to give Onix/base form Steelix earth eater for sure but what I'd have loved to see is Mega Steelix getting magnet pull (how else are those floating metal shards orbiting it!). That paired with the higher atk stat you've suggested gives it some niche to trap opposing steels and spam stab earthquake, or body press off that monster def stat
Removing attack would make mega altaria worse in singles. One of its big benefits is that you can't tell what set it's running, and it can go physical or special.
Only thing Mega Garchomp needs is to have its 10 points in Speed given back, and a small better ability, give it Sharpness, I don't know, it's bad but not as bad as Sand Force.
I dont mind buffing pokemon with vgc in mind, but some of these buffs are the least elegant. Especially when these megas already thriving in single formats. So most of these buffs as a singles player sound like hell and arbitrary(espeed glalie). Pokemon can be designed with singles foremost. I think glimmora is such pokemon that is obviously more suited for one. I would rather different pokemon in vgc become playable because of different regulations rather than brute force. So i would focus more on carving niches for pokemon than giving pokemon crazy coverage for more possible metas or stat sticking
Ok, so i really need an explanation on why we didn't just take some of the special attack away on absol and put it into speed instead of taking away from its already low defenses
I think it would be enough to move some of the stats that are wasted by the canonical distribution of game freak towards perhaps the main attack or speed to make all the Megas quite usable
Aerodactyl should also get Head Smash in addition to Brave Bird. I'm running a Focus Sash Aerodactyl on the Stabmons singles ladder on Showdown, and it's an absolute monster thanks to Rock Head.
to this day it's a serious mystery why aerodactyl doesn't learn brave bird and head smash, yet mons like archeops and espathra can learn one of them. seriously it has rock head yet it's only option is take down, giving aerodactyl access to these moves would actually let rock head do something instead of having to use pressure or unnerve
@@bulborb8756 exactly. well, at least it can get Double-Edge in Gen 1. too bad you can't transfer to bank/home from the virtual console anymore. so that point is moot if you don't already have one with it.
For our mega snowman give them slush rush since they set up hail on entry then immediately get a boost and for mega gallade give him sharpness the damage would be crazy
I know its samurot's signature move but giving Absol ceaseless edge could make it a pretty strong switch up lead, considering it has magic bounce. You can force out rock/spike setters cause you're gonna bounce those rocks back and either go for a swords dance/calm mind to set up or go for a ceaseless edge against whatever they bring in.
yeah given how powerful that move is, giving it to sharpedo i think isn't a good idea for balance, cause all the shark needs to do is protect for 1 turn, get a speed boost and then mega to go haywire
Doesn't regular Abomasnow already get Snow Warning? Literally just change the Mega Ability to something that buffs its Special Defense in Snow, since with the buff of Defense boosting in Snow we have now, that'd actually make it really bulky
Mega Beedrill is fine imo, it's very fast and hits hard, it just gets crowded out by the elite options. Pretty useful in Gen 7 OU, which granted is not VGC, but not every Pokemon can be great in both formats.
some mons are just better in one format then the other. for examples tornadus incarnate and incineroar are amazing in doubles but bad in singles but on the opposite end, mons like skarmory & magnezone are good in singles but are god awful in doubles
Honestly if Mega Ampharos got to learn a good alternative to Draco Meteor, something like Clanging Scales, would be nice to keep it with Mold Breaker as a way to get past Lightningrod users. Also just take another page out of Radical Red and make something like "Aqua Fang" or the like, world cannot handle Mega Sharpedo throwing out 255 BP Fishious Rends.
clanging scales would not make sense since ampharos doesn't have scales, if they where to make a special dragon move that serves as like an in-between of d.pulse and draco meteor then maybe
sure sharpness is nice, however this was mainly focused around the doubles of VGC where flinching moves like fake out are everywhere and so is intimidate, so keeping Inner Focus is for the best as the mega will have a use case over not being mega
@bulborb8756 That's fair. Inner Focus is pretty good for that at least. I just wish it had more of a niche than being immune to Fake Out, and standard Sharpness Gallade is super good in VGC. Imagine that same mon with base 110 Speed and 165 Attack. Throw up Psychic Terrain to prevent priority and throw those Psycho Cuts and Sacred Swords behind Wide Guards and there's no way that isn't a REALLY good mon
At the very least, I'd give Mega Gardevoir Gallades's mega state distribution (with atk and spatk swapped, of course). That +20 in Mega Garde's attack stat is criminal.
Having used mega pinsir with extreme speed before, I can easily say: that shit is far more oppressive than you think. It’s effectively stab eq strengths but also prio, and it’s a flying type move which has sparse resists anyways.
however, with how mega's are as they give a mon a flat +100 increase in their stat's, mega beedrill's stats can't be raised any higher then they are, hell they had to obliterate it's sp.atk stat just to further boost it's atk and speed to make it a glass cannon
I’m a beedrill fan and giving them those buffs work, the only other change i could think of is to drop the spa to 5 and add it to speed to ensure they outspeed most non boosted things, because beedrill is just too frail to even make use of anything else
Honestly was expecting you to say “8 seconds of bleed” at some point in this video. Some of these exceptions are either really underwhelming or blatantly overpowered.
This is a fun video. I really enjoy talking about potential buffs for pokemon. Also, minor nitpick but in the Sceptile portion it shows Earth power as a rock type move when it's actually ground type. Sorry but i just had to point it out.
I think if we want to buff Mega Sceptile, i think the best route is to give it Contrary + Leaf Storm and Draco Meteor. Like a much fast and scarier Serperior
Don't forget mega Rayquaza it's buffed ability now make him immune to stat drops , flinch , priority , status condition and entry hazard plus delta stream now cancels every weather and terrain both active and going to be activated
Do mega evolutions even need to be buffed? Also I really don't want megas back into the meta game perhaps a video on how we might nerf the mega evolution mechanic as a whole would be interesting to do
They very much do for the context of VGC, some megas like the Charizards, Salamence, Mawile and Kangaskhan were so busted they killed variety, being so busted that they pushed the weaker megas out of being used.
Most of the suggestions going on in the comments make me never want to see Megas re-introduced ever again due to how overcentralizing they would be. Don't want to run a Mega? You're out of luck.
if mega's stuck around in the spin-off's, thats fine, but we don't need to have 2 different battle gimmicks, first time it was done was back in gen 7 and it was a mess cause having to prepare for the opponents team, a mega and a z-crystal is a lot.
Mega altaria is fine for the most part what really holding it back is base altaria stats the +30 base speed is a help but I also think it’s should get +10 more hp and +5 more sp def giving it more bulk and 110 in every stat except hp this would make altaria’s bst 535 which isn’t bad by any means. Another help would be giving it body press so it can run defensive sets as well so there would be no way to actually tell what set is running giving it unpredictability it would still be set up reliant for the most part and still Have weaknesses but it would be super fun to play with in vgc at least
I think that if I were to buff Mega altaria, I would take all 40 points of the mega bonus from it’s attack, and add 20 to it’s special attack, and 20 to one of it’s defenses. (Buffing regular altaria in any way would also be great). I love Mega Altaria and it sucks that it is just bad
I used Mega Sceptile in one of the first teams I ever built bc it could OHKO Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon with not too much bulk and was a great partner for Primal Kyogre itself It also had Dragon Pulse with stab to chip mega Ray but I would love if it got Draco Meteor. Also, Mega Swampert could be very strong now with dynamic speed, and maybe stronger if it got Wave Crash (I don't know if they gave it to it this gen)
If we buff the megas with moves those are also gonna go to the original form. will they still be wanting the mega stone when they could be choiced with the new moves?
Mega Blastoise with Shell Smash might be the most threatening Blastoise has ever been in competitive history since G-Max. Drawback is that it can’t White Herb nor Focus Sash being a mega, so it’s set-up and sweep or nothing. Also good luck dealing with Rillaboom and/or Raging Bolt. Mega Steelix and Aggron would love the fuck out of Body Press Mega Blaziken, Medicham, and Lopunny wouldn’t have to run HJK anymore since they have CC now. Mega Lop also got Triple Axel and U-Turn. Aura Sphere, Mystical Fire and to an lesser extent Vacuum Wave would be nice on Mega Gardevoir would be nice but wouldn’t change much Same with Earth Power on Mega Abomasnow Knock Off is the only change on Mega Tyranitar, and it’s Knock Off so… Encore on Mega Gengar might just break the fucking game (in singles, in doubles it can just pair with a Encore user), as well as Nasty Plot maybe Dual Wingbeat whiling kinda weak on Mega Aerodactyl is boosted by Tough Claws, and has the benefit of breaking sashes. DDance is also nice. Best thing I can say about Mega Banette is that it has actual STAB now, and hard hitting at that in the form of Poltergeist. Mega Metagross is probably the biggest winner with STABs Heavy Slam and Psychic Fangs, with Knock Off on top of that. All boosted by Tough Claws too. P-Groudon can actually run an all physical set for the first time with access to Heat Crash
Obviously Mega Rayquaza should be buffed to not need anything to Mega evolve. I mean surely gamefreak will do that for (totally not marketing reasons) making it the best again
Some megas shouldn't exist, like garchomp or gengar. Give gengar levitate back it's the only buff he needs. Mega slamance shouldn't exist neither. Mega kangaskan needs an other nerf. HOW HAS A BALL LIKE GLALIE EXTREM SPEED. There's some solutions that feels like "give to those pokemon this moves that there's no logical way of them to use it". Mega audiono should have Misty Surge. Some megas what actually need is that other megas have a nerf.
2:25 can someone give me a logical reason why SWAMPERT of all pokemon is getting last respects here? SD, Wave crash and Aqua Jet are already enough for a mon with only 1 weakness and great bulk
Editing error last respects was meant to cover the give or take for basculegion and why you'd still consider it without it being OBJECTIVELY better than MPert if it got SD Wave Crash and Aqua Jet, my bad on that
Most mon need better stat redistribution for garchomp add the 100 stats in attack and speed, same thing for absol like why the hell they gave it some special attack For swampert he need better moveset, wave chrash, headlong rush, aqua jet For healer it heal your status, and boost healing moves like heal pulse
I don’t know why game freak gave absol higher spatt in its mega it’s spatt should remain 65 while those other points go towards defense and speed Edit absol has a base 75 spatt

252+ Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg in Rain on a critical hit: 117-138 (57.9 - 68.3%) -- approx. 2HKO
252+ Atk Strong Jaw Sharpedo-Mega Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg in Rain: 177-208 (87.6 - 102.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
And out of rain.
252+ Atk Strong Jaw Sharpedo-Mega Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg: 118-139 (58.4 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Yup, Mega Sharpedo is dealing even more damage with just Fishious Rend than Urshifu Rapid Strikes that’s holding a Choice Band and is in Rain.
Yeah Urshifu is intimidate proof thanks to crits and hits through protect, but Sharpedo is also immune to Prankster WoW/Thunderwave and is OHKOing almost everything not protecting.
@@CuddlyTheMadElite oh, great. what wonderful information
Seismitoad stonks going up.
3:18 at last, someone who agrees that M-Steelix should get earth eater
I don't think Glalie and Pinsir should get eSpeed, I don't see their nonmega forms making sense with the move and their abilities already buff the normal moves they use. Quick Attack is a move I can see either of them getting and after the -ate buffs it's gonna hit pretty hard
Pinsir already has quick attack, its like half the reason it’s good
This is what I wanted to type here. I don’t see either Mega or base form Glalie being able to use Extreme Speed.
If actual Normal types barely get it, why should they both? It doesn't make sense!
@@kai_3788Emboar learns scald.
If your giving Mega Ampharos thunderclap then you don't need to change the mold breaker ability
The mons with mold breaker can use priority even when Tsareena and farigiraffe are on the field
Kartana lol
Won't it just complete with Rillaboom who's a better physically offensive grass type?
I think giving it a new ability that is similar to lighting rods, but instead of just boosting sp atk, it'll boost the highest attacking stat you have on sceptile. So you can choose what sceptile you want to use. A physical or special attacker.
Just give it Draco
@@yolow105 sceptile would be much faster and hit harder, the main difference is that Rillaboom is tankier and has priority, but is dependent on that priority to go first and it's dependent on the terrain to get the priority, and even then it doesn't hit as hard because grassy glide is low base power. Mega Sceptile is so fast that it doesn't even need priority to go first most of the time, and it would hit very hard. They are both physical grass types but they fill very different roles
It needs adaptability and tail glow Draco and flamethrower
4:18 If you give Mega Glalie RAPID SPIN it can be a incredible check to Goldengo
It has just enough attack to check the money Bag after a resisted Rapid Spin
With Earthquake
and enough speed to outrun it as long it’s not using a Scarf on top of a speed boosting nature
So Mega Glalie can a have a good Niche there on being the most reliable Rapid Spin user
Plus good ice type damange
If it was singles that'd be a very clear buff fwiw but I'm angling doubles here mostly
I think giving mega abomasnow a snow/hail version of primodial sea and desolate land would be a perfect fix for it. I would name it like Frozen Empire or Absolute Zero and this will extinguish fire moves (since during blizzard it is hard to create a fire) and increase the chance to freeze.
I like this
@@jackal_sniperrto freeze!?!
For completion, make mega tyranitar get the sandstorm equivalent.
Add the gravity effect (so dangerous sandstorm that no one can fly), and non ground, steel and rock takes 1/8 damage instead.
No mf, those are uber level abilites. Grass and ice is just bad, womp womp.
@@bigmonke3348 obamasnow is still UU with that broken ability though
Mega absol needs dazling, those looks? it fits. It covers its weakness to priority and adds flavour without forcing a speed boost.
I feel like a lot of these buffs would bring back the Weather Wars purely to prevent another team from getting to use their weather
We love it
Rock type earth power, huh? And dragon fiery wrath????
Oopsies
Why give Swampert last respects? It's not even a ghost type. Give it Jet Punch.
There is no point in giving buffs if it doesn't work with the design of the Pokémon. Might as well give everyone Geomancy or Fishous Rend at that point.
Edit: other complaints
Aerodactyl is not a Bird.
It's the spread special move for hyper voice + how many Intimidate mons pressure altaria this wouldn't be as usable and it's niche over garde and sylv is the typing anyway not that it's physical
Aero just needs a good flying stab dual wingbeat wouldn't make it viable it's still too weak for a lot of megas and we've had crazier mons get brave bird!!
@@oLivSama
Mega Swampert:
1) Ok
2) also it has jets in its arms
Mega Aerodactyl:
1) If Dual Wingbeat is too good that it was removed from Dragonite, it's good enough. Also, it's boosted by Tough Claws and KO's vs Focus Sash.
2) Still not a Bird
3) We can give it Sky Attack and give it the Electo Shot/Solar Beam clause except in Tailwind.
4) Give Sky Drop back because it's funny, yet useful.
Mega Altaria:
1) Fairy Type Extreme Speed to KO other Dragons seems fun
2) Having a strong accurate Physical Fairy move seems good. Also it learns Body Slam and learns bulk up to be the almost physical version of Sylveon
3) Give it Body Press to combo with the +3 from Cotton Guard. (People would tera fighting more though)
4) Rest, Sleep Talk, Facade, Boosting move of choice seems fun
5) if you really want special, Pixelate Boosted Fairy type Boomburst is hilarious.
Crobat is not a bird either but gets Brave Bird.
i mean aerodactyl is a dinosaur, and dinoasurs are birds
also it makes sense since brave bird is just smacking shit really hard with wings and guess what aerodactyl has (and also base aerodactyl has rock head so that would make it good)
@@thescorchingpteranodon7986 he shouldn't
You know what would buff this Mega Garchomp more? Sand Stream in base form. You switch in, set the sand, then mega and outspeed everything.
@@oLivSama I know, but I want to see just how ridiculous they all can get. If everything is broken, imagine how stupid the metagame will look.
Regular Pokémon shouldn't get a Legendaries signature move.

If they give Lopunny Tidy Up then people are gonna start saying "Tidy Up? More like Tie Me Up" and it's never gonna be funny
Give it minds eye LMAO
Mega Garchomp: Base Speed 101, remove the relevant points form its Special Attack. +Intimidate as an ability over Sand Force.
Altaria: -30 Attack, +15 to its Defence and Special Defence. It'll spam Hyper Voice more than anything, with support moves.
A
Sceptile: Draco Meteor, Shed Tail.
Gen 9 just gave Sceptile Shed Tail
and Aggron always has Heavy Slam since the move was made, Steelix too at least since gen 8
Also they could always bring back and overhaul Rock Climb by making a Rock-type direct contact move (like it always should’ve been) with much more distribution among rocks
@goGothitaLOL Rock Climb 100% should've been Rock type.
I didn't realise Heavy Slam was part of Aggron and Steelixes Movepool while they were Megas. Clearly didn't make much difference then 😭
Were you possibly meaning body press for steelix and aggron?
@@celestialenigma3874 no, I just had a brain fart and didn't realise they *did* get Heavy Slam.
Body Press being a unique move for the two would've been suuuper cool though
I'd be keen to give Onix/base form Steelix earth eater for sure but what I'd have loved to see is Mega Steelix getting magnet pull (how else are those floating metal shards orbiting it!). That paired with the higher atk stat you've suggested gives it some niche to trap opposing steels and spam stab earthquake, or body press off that monster def stat
I have never understood Arm Thrust not having a higher BP
Dude if they give Wailren a mega I'd be the happiest man alive
Flygon too, was supposed to get one but Sugimori had writer's block and never made it .
Giving Nasty Plot to Abomasnow makes absolutely zero sense from a lore perspective, but a new move akin to it? Sure, why not.
Then it's now called Winter Coat and the user prepares its magical snow to enhance its damage by +2 spatk
It doesnt really benefit from that maybe give it filter
No Mega Banette mentioned 😔
I think it would be enough to move some of the stats that are wasted by the canonical distribution of game freak towards perhaps the main attack or speed to make all the Megas quite usable
This was my first video of yours in a while. It’s so wonderful to see how much energy and confidence you’ve developed. Keep it up gal!
For mega beedrill i think it would really appreciate close combat to help it punch through steels as drill run just isnt enough
ah yes, my favorite rock type move, Earth Power
The fact you called Absol not that good is straight outrageous
For our mega snowman give them slush rush since they set up hail on entry then immediately get a boost and for mega gallade give him sharpness the damage would be crazy
I know its samurot's signature move but giving Absol ceaseless edge could make it a pretty strong switch up lead, considering it has magic bounce. You can force out rock/spike setters cause you're gonna bounce those rocks back and either go for a swords dance/calm mind to set up or go for a ceaseless edge against whatever they bring in.
How could a solid ball of ice use fake out?
I used mega fishious rend sharpedo as my ace when playing through several fangames. Even when resisted, it obliterated everything.
yeah given how powerful that move is, giving it to sharpedo i think isn't a good idea for balance, cause all the shark needs to do is protect for 1 turn, get a speed boost and then mega to go haywire
Doesn't regular Abomasnow already get Snow Warning? Literally just change the Mega Ability to something that buffs its Special Defense in Snow, since with the buff of Defense boosting in Snow we have now, that'd actually make it really bulky
Ah yes rock type earth power and dragon type fiery wrath
Mega Beedrill is fine imo, it's very fast and hits hard, it just gets crowded out by the elite options. Pretty useful in Gen 7 OU, which granted is not VGC, but not every Pokemon can be great in both formats.
some mons are just better in one format then the other.
for examples tornadus incarnate and incineroar are amazing in doubles but bad in singles
but on the opposite end, mons like skarmory & magnezone are good in singles but are god awful in doubles
If they can make Aqua Cutter despite Razor Shell already being a thing, why not?
clanging scales would not make sense since ampharos doesn't have scales, if they where to make a special dragon move that serves as like an in-between of d.pulse and draco meteor then maybe
Just let me have Sharpness Mega Gallade and I will never ask for anything ever again
sure sharpness is nice, however this was mainly focused around the doubles of VGC where flinching moves like fake out are everywhere and so is intimidate, so keeping Inner Focus is for the best as the mega will have a use case over not being mega
@bulborb8756
That's fair.
If mega garchomp has sand rush, it would no longer be a bad mega and actually better then regular.
Idk about objectively in every team scarfs still decent in some cases but it'd be an upgrade for sure finally, i still think it misses top 5 status
Man, the issue is it's somehow more lame then choice items for flexibility and seeing different things on different teams. Kinda just....eh.
It’s effectively stab eq strengths but also prio, and it’s a flying type move which has sparse resists anyways.
beedrill needs a highest base stat total in it's base form. it has 393 only! that is slightly higher than starter pokemon
however, with how mega's are as they give a mon a flat +100 increase in their stat's, mega beedrill's stats can't be raised any higher then they are, hell they had to obliterate it's sp.atk stat just to further boost it's atk and speed to make it a glass cannon
@@bulborb8756 no i mean the base form needs a bst increase it only has 393 so add some to its bulk to make it damn viable
I’m a beedrill fan and giving them those buffs work, the only other change i could think of is to drop the spa to 5 and add it to speed to ensure they outspeed most non boosted things, because beedrill is just too frail to even make use of anything else
Mega swampert gets either swords dance or last respects, not both.
Editing error last respects was an advantage basculegion had, SD/Aqua Jet/Wave Crash were the buffs
@@oLivSama Ah. I see.
It also shows Fiery Wrath as a Dragon move
6:28 This is gonna make Dracovish look like a fucking Magikarp☠️☠️☠️
Dracovish hits harder though with a choice band!
Glalie is like... not the first mon I'd think thematically to get espeed xD
I think if we want to buff Mega Sceptile, i think the best route is to give it Contrary + Leaf Storm and Draco Meteor. Like a much fast and scarier Serperior
I would love Mega Audion with Simple. It already has Calm Mind and Draining Kiss for recovery. ❤
Tbh mega agrron just needs to be given recover cause it's lack of reliable recovery is what holds it back.
Ive been saying it for years. Give mega garchomp sand rush instead of sand force. They were so close
I used Mega Sceptile in one of the first teams I ever built bc it could OHKO Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon with not too much bulk and was a great partner for Primal Kyogre itself
It also had Dragon Pulse with stab to chip mega Ray but I would love if it got Draco Meteor.
Also, Mega Swampert could be very strong now with dynamic speed, and maybe stronger if it got Wave Crash (I don't know if they gave it to it this gen)
12:44 sceptile should get tail glow it makes so much sense
Mega Abomasnow and T-tar should have abilities to make use of their weather they set in base form
Dark Fairy for Absol right? not just changing it to pure fairy?
Yep, ofc it is Dark/Fairy
If we buff the megas with moves those are also gonna go to the original form. will they still be wanting the mega stone when they could be choiced with the new moves?
Mega Blastoise with Shell Smash might be the most threatening Blastoise has ever been in competitive history since G-Max.
Drawback is that it can’t White Herb nor Focus Sash being a mega, so it’s set-up and sweep or nothing. Also good luck dealing with Rillaboom and/or Raging Bolt.
Mega Steelix and Aggron would love the fuck out of Body Press
Mega Blaziken, Medicham, and Lopunny wouldn’t have to run HJK anymore since they have CC now.
Mega Lop also got Triple Axel and U-Turn.
Aura Sphere, Mystical Fire and to an lesser extent Vacuum Wave would be nice on Mega Gardevoir would be nice but wouldn’t change much
Same with Earth Power on Mega Abomasnow
Knock Off is the only change on Mega Tyranitar, and it’s Knock Off so…
Encore on Mega Gengar might just break the fucking game (in singles, in doubles it can just pair with a Encore user), as well as Nasty Plot maybe
Dual Wingbeat whiling kinda weak on Mega Aerodactyl is boosted by Tough Claws, and has the benefit of breaking sashes.
Nerf video next, please
Inch resting...... may attempt ngl a few like mence and Ray could be interesting to nerf
Yay
Obviously Mega Rayquaza should be buffed to not need anything to Mega evolve. I mean surely gamefreak will do that for (totally not marketing reasons) making it the best again
I'd just give Altaria Quiver Dance, gives it more variety as a sweeper
Editing error last respects was meant to cover the give or take for basculegion and why you'd still consider it without it being OBJECTIVELY better than MPert if it got SD Wave Crash and Aqua Jet, my bad on that
I thought you were going to give Slowbro follow me after talking about how it would counter the bear with no crits and water type
It would be helpful if you'd show the stats you're changing on the stat charts instead of keeping them as they are
Most mon need better stat redistribution for garchomp add the 100 stats in attack and speed, same thing for absol like why the hell they gave it some special attack
For swampert he need better moveset, wave chrash, headlong rush, aqua jet
For healer it heal your status, and boost healing moves like heal pulse
Extreme Speed isn't at all fitting for Glalie... Its a giant heavy hunk of ice and rock. :/
Aqua Jet Swampert would be great
I don’t know why game freak gave absol higher spatt in its mega it’s spatt should remain 65 while those other points go towards defense and speed
Edit absol has a base 75 spatt
Yes fiery wrath is my favorite dragon move
mega mawile should get huger power which quadruples their attack stat.
We arent getting Megas in a tradtional pokemon game this gen. What lead you to think we would? ZA is gonna have a completely different gameplay style
