Thanks for the advice and hacks! I wonder about your cup heating. I usually let my machine heat up well and then run hot water through to heat up all parts and heat the cup as well.
What to do if I just got a 2011 gaggia classic and did the cleaning but the shower screen water dispersion is still not full rain, it always has 2 streams of water and the rest is rain?
The best video about gaggia classic that I have ever seen. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Does this work for regular classic as well ?
If you use just one grade of rost coffee you don't need continuous temp adjustment BUT stil need to SET temperature isn't it? Original gaggia temperature is always too cold and at least variable. And why not simply measure temperature of water output VS PID to spot the right offset?
your 100% correct here.
newbie here to the home espresso game. How are you gauging the extraction time? You're just manually starting and stopping it. I don't see a scale or anything so are you just arbitrarily stopping the brew? If so, how is this a valid test?
Im not getting a decent shot from my gaggia yet. Warming it up , fresh beans. Getting 2:1 at 25-30 seconds but still not tasting very good. Any ideas ?
Fricking coffe magician !!!
The most useful video for gaggia ❤
Thanks for the guide , there are not many guide for the installation I am struggle with the grinder for more than 2 weeks confusing about the espresso crema After installation it finally works
Well this is reassuring having just forked out for a k-ultra 😂. I really prefer having a simple beautifully made little mechanical device compared to another thing that makes a nasty noise, needs a lead and a plug and takes up counter space the whole time
Get a Bambino Plus! It’s been properly thought through…….unlike the Gaggia.
Hi, what setting do you have on your macro on the Baratza sette 270. I just got the same grinder and am new to this coffee experience. I find your videos very helpful in the way you explain 👍
Which espresso maker does not involve a million steps at around this price point !
Thanks mate
Made 3 trips to Starbucks by the time this guy made a single cup 😂
I am so blown away by this! Thank you for taking time to make this video, it's so necessary if you own a Gaggia so that you can make a great espresso and latte.
Thanks for amazing tips . I would love to try it. Another question is if i will brew for the 2nd . Do i need to wait another 15 mins to preheat the machine ? Or how mnay mins it should be
Your shot only ran for 17 seconds?!?!?
Can anyone confirm that this is still relevant for the newest version of the Gaggia Classic?
Dont think it ever was accurate. The temperature in the boiler heavily fluctuates between around 85 and 98 degrees Celsius if you dont have a pid. If you just push the steam button (as shown here) it will still heat up to some random temperature. It might be mostly produce better coffee, but not consistently. One more accurate method would be to flush the machine first till the temp drops (either a few seconds or till the light goes out), then wait for the light to turn on again, wait another 30s, press steam just ~5s or skip it (depending on your roast) and the pull the shot. This way you have kind of a constant temperature. There are several videos from Lance Hendrick or WholeLatteLove where its explained. th-cam.com/video/qz7PPnPSFd0/w-d-xo.html This video is kind of old now, so no blaming here.
Or install a PID 😅
any advice if the screen/gasket are stuck, won't budge?
I really enjoy my Gaggia. But it’s kind of ridiculous that you have to go through all these steps just to make coffee.
I can only fit 16g because anymore, I’ll get a screw imprint on the coffee bed. Which means, it’s too close to the screen. Or am I missing something? And forget about a puck screen, the screw with imprint and damage the screen.
Great video, but I'm adding this because I faced it and don't know whether this is common experience, I had to flush the group head nearly 6 times because I saw a lot of residual micro particles and so on. The manual says to do it once and it wasn't nearly enough. :)) Edit - I'm talking purely about first use for a new unit.
Guys , which IMS for gaggia classic? 24.5 or the flat 26.5? (Vst not in stock in my country, and too expensive for me right now).
Такое чувство, что если перестанет махать, то речь заклинит!)
У него рука не болит - под каждое слово делать взмах!?)
specialty coffees are very fresh but are also very expensive compared to commercial ones, the latter lose their aromas because a lot of time passes from roasting to sale, a 3/5 month old coffee will have lost most of its aromas, try fresh beans that they are supplied to bars and you will see that it will be something completely different.
Best video thanks you! Gracias! Me ayudo mucho con mi gaggia!
Great video! definitely a real tutorial and really helpful.
My Classic Pro is on the way… any recommendations for a Tamper?
Hi Goran, I have instaled PID on my Gaggia classic and now I wondering what parametars are ideal for P, I and D in menu 0036?
Great video, what if i just buy a Brivelle instead of doing all that?
nice work and video man
not sure why this is a bit more cumbersome than the breville barista express given the price. regardless, your video is very informative , thankyou for sharing!
Great video! Thank you so much. Turn on the steam button 20s before brewing, I can do that on my delonghi ecp 35.31? It's also a single boiler machine same GCP
Are you Virgo?
A BURNT SHOE!! Lol!! I had to rewind video...that's what I think of starbucks(worst coffee in the world) & I'm not even gonna capitalize the name. One day I'll try Lavazza & put it head to head against my favorite specialty coffee.
Does the Evo Pro resolve any of these issues?
No. Moreover this workflow does not work for me at all :(
Useless machine, too many steps for a coffee.
Thanks i recently put the 270 assembly on my ap 30. Was pulling shots on 11 but now not getting fine enough. Shim should sort it
What is the size of milk frothing cup you have used here?
Thanks fore this video!
Excellent video. Thank you very much!
whats your grind setting on the encore?
I recommend that you preheat the group head and basket together to prevent heat from being wicked out of your espresso by a cold basket. Also, I switch to steam and wait 30 to 40 seconds before steaming. The machi e doesn't store steam. The boiler simply can't sustain the temperature long enough. By starting to steam 5-10 seconds before the steam light illuminates it will continue to heat the boiler the entire time you're steaming the milk. You should see the steam light go on about 10 seconds after you're done. Your timings may vary slightly so do a little experimentation on your own.
No issues with this except it is too loud!
That sounds like a great hack but how does that reduce channeling? (Particularly if you gave the stock spring)
In case anyone is wondering factory was at 34 IN Lbs of torque or 3.75 newton meters for the screw holding the burr itself.
