  • After using the Timemore Black Mirror for the last couple of months, we thought it would be a good time to do a review video on it. This is our candidate for the best bang for buck digital brewing scale on the market, so let us know what you think about that and comment below if you have another better suggestion.

I use the blackmirror with a gaggia classic pro. Have swapped the drip tray for a low profile one and also use a bottomless portafilter. Fits fine with my cups

Love it. I bought this scale last week and have just watched your review after the purchase is already a fait accompli. Good to be reassured I made the 'right' choice! Loving your videos.

I have one and really enjoy using it. i use the auto mode even for espresso with my lelit maraX. I got used to the results and aim for about 25sec after first drop! I find it very useful and more reliable than myself having to tare and start timer every time I pull a shot! Cheers

I have Timemore Black Mirror at home and it’s perfect value for the money they cost 👌🏽

I just use the cheap ERAVSOW scale, but I like that the Timemore has a rechargeable battery. I'll consider it if/when it's time for an upgrade.

I have used the Black Mirror for about a year now. I love everything about it except for one prblem... if water gets on either one of the sensor controls, you have to shut it down and dry the button. This can ruin a Pour Over timing. I just have to be careful of that short-coming. I can't imagine why a product made to weigh water and coffee would allow liquid to fowl the unit. Other than that... it is great!

The Timemore Black Mirror scale can be paired with a Gaggia Classic machine, but only with a bottomless portafilter. In my case, the scale is somehow annoying because when I try to dose 17 grams of beans, the scale fluctuates between 17.1 and 16.9 for some time. I found that a 10 USD jewelry scale works fine and has more space under the portafilter.

print a 3d tray for Gaggia, problem solved ;)

I also had a small jewellery scale, but ai couldn't use that one for pour overs

@@tmb-themajesticbeanchannel1746 there is a bigger version of it, 5$ I paid for dripper/Chemex. There is no need to spend 50$ on a scale.. Hipstering is going too far nowdays.

I already ruined my new cheap scale by getting coffee on it,. I'm looking for waterproof one for gaggia classic pro, I'm currently using the bottomless portafilter and I'm a beginner to pulling an espresso shot

Nice review! It sounds like a good scale that’s priced right. The Acaia is awfully expensive. I think I’ll give the Timemore a shot. Yes, pun intended. Thanks from Austin.
Update. I have one. I stopped using it because I have a Gaggia Classic without enough room to use it. I’ll have to find it and try it with a filter brew.

Hi. I have the scale and something changed the scale weight. It used to measure the 20gram for my espresso shot not it’s at 2.0.

Great review. Could you compare it to the normcore scale? They are about the same price, but the normcore is a bit shorter

1:58 How tall are your cups? I wonder if cups with less height would work with the Gaggia Classic (Mine are 6cm)

  • @hittemni
    @hittemni 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The only real competition it has is the brewista smart scale II and the Normcore scale

I have an older Hario scale which is not waterproof, so I’ve been looking for something like this. However, I’ve read that sometimes it doesn’t work great for pour-overs. For example, when one picks up the carafe and gives it a swirl between pours the weight is often changes as you put it down. Have you experienced anything like that? Thanks for the review.

haven't experienced anything like that, but it can be a bit slow with very small weights at times

Noooo! I just ordered by Pearl last week! Doggone it! I waited and waited and waited for a less expensive alternative and finally decided to splurge on myself. 😢
