It’s driving me crazy! Lol Today I did a 3 mile hike and I set my Garmin to walk instead of hike and it said I only did 1.5 miles. 🤪 I specifically bought it to track hikes, walks and runs. Idk what to do about it though. 🙄

Completely agree! The older I get the more important I can see being in shape and staying in shape is. I’m determined to get in much better shape so I can keep hiking and backpacking for years to come one. 🥾⛰️🏕️😊

I When I started doing solo adventures I started out small and just kept making them longer and more difficult as I went along. I loved hiking with my husband, but he couldn't always go with me and I just started doing solo trips and realized I loved hiking solo as well as with someone. It’s a beautiful short hike! Yes it’s going to be really hot.🥵 I’m planning on a short hike and trying out a cooling hack. Hopefully it works. If it does I’ll do a short one it. 🥾🏕️⛰️

It’s such a beautiful place! We camped once but you have to claim your camp spot early as there are only a few. 🏕️ I use LumaFusion for editing.

Great to hear you’ll be hiking a section of the AT! Hope you have a fantastic trip! I can give you the breakdown but I don’t do exact measurements. Lol. I break these meals up into quart size freezer bags. I start with either a bag of Pepperidge Farm stuffing or Stouffer’s stuffing and divide it into 4-6 bags depending on how much you eat or how hungry you get. Then I add instant mashed potato either just the potato flakes or the bags of flavored ones. I usually use half a bag per quart bag or if it’s potato flakes I just pour some in. Lol Then I use half a pack of ramen per bag. I like the soy ramen but you can use what you like. I use the noodles and seasoning. Other things I sometimes add are Craisins and/or nuts. You can also add a chicken or tuna packet. This meal is a staple for me as it’s cheap, lightweight and cooks fast. I just boil about a cup of water maybe a bit more if it’s a larger meal and add it to the freezer bad. Stir and let it sit for less than 5 minutes and it ready to go. I add water until it’s well mixed and looks like it’s not too dry. Hope that helps!

In 2023 I set out to hike from Pearisburg to Maine but it didn’t go as planned. I had hiked 10 days solo but had to come home for a few weeks as my Mom was really sick. She improved and I got the green light to return to trail. First day back on trail was also Operator’s and Cherry’s first day of their section hike. We met that night at the shelter and ended up hiking every day together since then. Other hikers we met along the trail. Operator, Cherry and I planned to start together this year since we’d gotten along so great and had similar backpacking styles. 😊⛰️🏕️🥾
