Appalachian Trail Adventure 2024 Day 32 & 33 Detzi’s, Rain, Lucy & Reunite

- May 10th & 11th 2024 - Appalachian Trail Adventure 2024 Day 32 & 33.Started the day completely soaked from the rain over night. My tent malfunctioned and everything was wet! Shiloh from Detzi’s saved the day for us. It was a cold wet day but Lucy picked us up at the end! Started at mile 1281.9 hikes to mile 1290.4 total miles 8.5 for the day.

I did the same thing near DWG hung my dripping wet tent over shower curtain rod. I of course cleaned all my mess up after 3 day stay, Nero and 2 zeros . Took that long to dry everything out and await the thunderstorm 🌩️ that rolled through for days
Mine made quite a mess too. I also cleaned up after. Lol It took awhile for everything to dry. 😊

@@silvasoutdooradventures I got the Atmos, very cushiony for my heel spurs and I am getting used to them. At first I was like….oh no, I feel off kilter, but there is a 60 day return, so I’m going to keep wearing them and see how I feel about them next week or so. I may just stop in to ask if they have some that are not so padded. In any event, my toes are certainly happier …thank you again & stay safe
@@raewebb6365 I was looking at possibly getting the Magnifly for dog walking and everyday use. Hopefully you get use to yours or find some that feel perfect!
Oh my I thought you said Chickpea at first and was about to say there can’t be two of us on the trail.😂😂. Good call with the tent. Being rained on when you are inside is not fun. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️

Wet tents in downpours are nothing new to me- had some tough nights without sleep, then soldiering on tired as anything- I know the feeling. But, the smooth sections look very inviting and I can tell you that I have also had some of my best days hiking on overcast/ rainy days. Good times are just ahead- you are making good decisions! 🌿🙏
Waking up soaked is a bummer that’s for sure. Lol Overcast days are great especially when it really hot out. I don’t mind hiking in the rain but it does get old when it’s days of rain.🌧️ 🥾🏕️⛰️
What about your old tent?
Do you mean what did I do with it? Lucy was going to ship it home for me. I’ll use it if I know the weather will be nice but since this has happened a few times and I didn’t want to keep waking up soaked I got the new tent.
