- April 29, 2024 - Appalachian Trail Adventure 2024 Day 21. This was a tough day due to the heat and rocks. I’m a Maine girl and wilt in the heat. 😂 Started at mile 1196.7 hiked to mile 1207.1 total of 10.4 miles for the day.

We have some tough days for sure, but the birds serenade to you shows that the love that they are sharing with you will help keep you strong! Rocks will vary from minimal to crazy insane- this too will make you stronger and more aware of how resilient you will become as the hike goes along. 😂❤🏃♀️🌿🧘🏼🙏
I do love listening to the birds. They do make you feel alive. The rocks not so much. lol 🏕️🥾💖
I bought this hat from Amazon….ive only worn it on short hikes so far, I found it very comfortable, but I’m in upstate NY and it is not hot yet

You are doing Awesome. I find any hat vented or not holds heat in, and bug nets are worse, but they are sometimes necessary. Keep up the good work and Hike~~On~~>

I don’t do well with heat. Definitely don’t wear anything tight on my head,headbands, buffs. The hat you wear is one of my favorites but I even overheat in it. 🦋❤️

It's a terrible thing to be hiking in the heat like that I hope you're able to keep your body cool so that you can keep hiking. Maybe getting up earlier and out earlier would help. I look forward to watching you each day so be careful and enjoy your hike. I know you've got this in you, just slow and easy😊
Thank you so much for watching! Do climbs before the heat is best but sometimes doesn’t work out. Slow and easy is the way to get through the heat for sure. ⛰️🥰🏕️

Did you use the rope swing into the lake at the waterfall?
No we didn’t. I have yet to swim while on the AT. Lol
Try wetting a bandana and wearing it around your neck, that always seems to help me cool my body down
I may try this. Also just learned about an Arctic Cool Cloth.
