We have to sit in the carriage because if they let us sit in the lorry, sooner or later some clown would light a ciggy up knock a handbrake off. When it first started, they gave all the drivers an airline style meal complete with wine. How times have changed.

“Light a ciggy” I’ve not heard that expression since my Dad died 35yrs ago! 😂🤣😂 Yes I remember them serving meals too. 😁 A dodgy cup of coffee if the machine is working is all you get now!

Fast Track is a FIRST ticket that save you time when waiting in your lane for train allocation. It does not speed you through any of the Customs. When being allocated to a train in the UK you will get lane 15 or 16 as the Fast track lanes or you are given a lane that is just loading and you drive straight through as there will be a green light at the far end of that lane. In France the Fast Track lane is usually Lane 7 with Lane 1 used when 7 is full or busy. Also in France after UK Border Force & Passport check the Dog check is normally done in the Lanes waiting for train loading, when the dogs have go down your lane it will not be too long before you load. They usually have a pair of dogs and at least 4 people doing the check. The reason that the dog check is done in the Shed 3 & 4 Friday & Saturday is due to fewer Staff and less traffic, they only need one dog to check two trucks. I do the tunnel France > UK every night Monday to Thursday returning to France empty on the ferry or train if short on hours or Ferry delays, yes the company I work with, pay the extra FIRST ticket so we get over quicker and have time to get back to Belgium. Saves a few hours most nights when crossing time via the tunnel is showing as 2.30 or 3.00 hours delay. One thing I have noticed on my Watch is how deep down we go, almost 1300ft at the deepest.

Brilliantly well done Sherralin. Only one time me and hubby got stopped by Border Control, was actually in the USA. I went to visit my pen-pal who lives in Safford, Arizona, which is around 30 miles from the Mexican border. During our trip, we stayed a couple of days in Tombstone (OK Corral fame). When we left to head to Safford, about 5 miles from Tombstone, we got stopped by Border Force personnel. They too had a dog, so while we were chatting with two of the officers, the dog handler strolled round the car. We weren't allowed out of our car either, which I was thankful for, as it was 106 degrees in the sun🥵. Had a good natter, then we were on our way.

Not yet? ;-) Even "old" Zeeland (province here in the Netherlands) has. :-p However, the big matter here seems to me the border between the EU (a peace project by origin) and a member state that left the club most radically. (And yes, there may be lots of desparate people from elsewhere on Earth trying to enter the UK by any means.)

Thanks Sherralin for a great video. As long as people drive sensibly, there shouldn't be any problem, but must keep aware of others around you, accidents do happen, and sometimes can't be helped. Carry on the good work😊. I live in Manchester, and when I used to travel to work (now retired) by bus, and there was snow and slush (frozen), I would put on my Yak-Trax which are for shoes/boots. Absolutely brilliant for walking or jogging, they are the equivalent of snow chains. You just slip them over your footwear, and you just walk normally, no sign at all of slipping, even over ice. The only dangerous place to walk in them would actually be inside on shiny tiles, ie, as in supermarket floors, you must then take off the Yak-trax.
