Thanks Sherralin, for another video , i had trouble in France finding a company took me 2 hours . With todays tech it shouldnt happen but it does . Stay safe
Hi great video as always like l said before couldn’t drive over sea like you do well done I stay trucking in the uk stay safe drive safe till next time not like when looking for somewhere and not find them lol
As my mum used to say, when I asked, " What happens if I get lost? " " You've got a tongue in your head, haven't you? " No sign on the warehouse, a perfectly placed bin and a pig of a reverse. They don't make it easy for you, do they. 🤣🤣 At least you're getting the warm weather, it's freezing in Scotland,🥶🥶 and the scenery looks amazing. Thanks again for a really interesting video, I'm seeing 10k subscribers before the end of the year, there's no substitute for quality.😎😎 Safe journeys.
I had a collection in Alicante many years ago and I could not find the place. Like you, up and down the road three or four times. And no one seemed to know the firm I was looking for, except one old man. He dragged me down to the bottom of his garden and pointed. And there, a couple of building away, was the sign for the company I needed; on the BACK of the building!!! ARRRGH!!! As always, your videos are first class. Thank you.
Happened to me once in Italy, she said it’s easy to find it’s got one on it when I eventually found it. It had Uno because she translated into English for me. Thanks very much
Once you have had mirror cam (instead of ordinary mirrors) you won’t want to change back. You never loose the rear of your trailer, and makes it a lot easier to blind side reverse. Brilliant piece of kit, and makes it so much easier, and safer, to see everything around you. Takes away all of the blind spots that big mirrors cause at roundabouts and junctions.
Old school driver comment... I believe you. I still think they got it wrong when they banned "wing" mirrors, thus taking your eyes and concentration off the road infront of you...... Interesting that you now to be distracted by both a kerb side and a front bumper mirror..... I digress.... No I don't, I wish y'all the absolute freedom and enjoyment of the holiday I enjoyed for 30 years. Beware, they are out to get you (or your boss). One more question to David , how do the cameras cope with the rain, freezing weather, condensation, general road dirt ? I guess easier to clean but do you still need a shamy on a long stick or do they come with (windscreen like) jet wash? Always happy to listen and learn, even though I know everything 🤣🤣🤣👍
@@Live-life-1 I've not used them but here's how a log truck driver in NZ answered your question after 265,000 km: "With this one being so high, I don’t get much in the way of contamination from the wheels. Look at today, raining, yet no spray is reaching the cameras. They’re mint. I would imagine in some jobs with the low cabs you might get a bit. But then cleaning them is as simple as reaching up, and with a tiny flick of the camera, it’s done." Also, if your side window is fogged or dirty, or if you pull down the shade, these make no difference.
I went Inter-stating the last couple of weeks, so I haven't been on the tube. I stopped one night at Gundagi and it dropped to -7. But it was also +27 in Rockhampton...We don't have night heaters, but we do have stand alone air con units which run separate to the engine. Many years ago in Italy a few towns did a stupid thing.... The first block on the street to be sold ( regardless of the location ) was number 1. Next one was 2..3 and so on... So you could get # 35 next to #7. A few year after that, they changed all the numbers back to sequential, Odds down one side of the road and evens on the other. Half the places put up the new numbers and some didn't... Luckily most places put up a sign with their name on it. If your ever in any doubt where the new place is, just look for the most inaccessible place with cars abandoned in the worst place, and that'll be it.
I think you did very well at only taking 2 attempts. It's not your fault you were parked for the first attempt. I've driven a 10-ton truck and 40-foot buses and coaches and always struggled with the length. I'd go and check a few times before finally parking up. Safe travels flower xoxox
Yet another excellent video,, you do a great job,, when I was a pup i used to run Brisbane,, Sydney,, Melbourne on the east coast of Oz,, not unlike the deliveries you just showed,, I don’t know that I’d be up to it nowadays,, you stay sharp and drive safe girl 🇦🇺🇬🇧
Another great video On ferry myself watching this I have the cameras there best thing that’s happened you can blindside reverse and the camera pans round it’s great 👍
Thanks for the info. The Yellow Volvo I drove had mirrors that you could move all the way around for blindside reversing. I’ve never driven anything with these on so can’t give an opinion. From talking to other drivers they seem to be a bit like Marmite, you either love them or hate them! 😁
Isn't it the worst when you have trouble finding a place. I normally ring ahead and ask if there is anything I need to look for if it looks like it could be hard to find.
An 8% fuel saving without mirrors is the figure touted around. Let's face it, if it's gonna make someone money, it's here to stay innit. When have they ever listened to what we wanted?
@@moblet The camera lens will become unless in about a year as it will repeatedly fill with condensation then dry out and will massively fog the drivers view.
@@JackOfski They're not new tech, they've been around for a decade now and they don't expire that quickly. Reports are that they're better than mirrors in some applications and worse in others, they still need development before they'll suit everyone. E.g. th-cam.com/video/DosLwAB1SJg/w-d-xo.html
@moblet the price of the replacement mirror arm is eye watering, that's why they were nicknamed p45 when they first came out. They should have them fitted in all the blind spots and on the back of the trailer.
Brilliant vlog Sherralin. I've seen the camera mirrors on other truck users, and personally, I wouldn't be a fan either. Cameras can be a lie, and do not give the correct true distance of anything. No, I prefer mirrors and physically looking behind or to the side of me on blind spots. At least the weather you're having at the moment is the same here in the UK at the moment, at long last🤣. I sometimes can't understand why some of the other truckers I watch don't just get out and ask where a certain place is. Its so much quicker and better on the fuel consumption as well. It doesn't bother me one bit if I need to ask, you'll get to your destination that much sooner
One of my top pleasures is: after a long day of selling and delivering my products; I take a hot shower, cook dinner, watch You tube videos and snuggle down in my bed either in the truck or the trailer. We are getting quite a few trucks with mirror cam in New Zealand now and it's the same over here some drivers love them and some hate them.
I’m guessing they’d be on the European vehicles? I don’t know how they’d suit the Kenworths? 😁
