Glad to hear that there are other people who paid attention in their history classes at school. There's so much we can learn from our predecessors. And a lot of history can be very fascinating and interesting.👍🤝
That's the thing, when making a turn into your left off a dual carriageway into a narrower road - you really have to be mindful of your length and give yourself that extra room in order to get round the corner. You had your indicators on to warn people so well done, thankfully nobody tried to encroach on the space. Good driving.👍👏🤝
First of your video's I have seen but thanks for posting, I did almost the same run many years ago and that brought back memories of the Tyne Tunnel and all the delays there. I retired in 2006 so it's been a while but I will look for some of your other post's to bring back the memories.
Hi Sherralin. Grew up 2 miles from Neville Hill yard and it doesn't look like it's changed that much. The building that looks like a cinema was Festival foods but I think my parents said that it used to be a laundry owned by the Co op. Moved away a long time ago.
Mr Beecham, that's decades ago. As far as the Angel of the North is concerned, my wife, who is German just loves it. When we visited my family in the north east, and the Angel came into view she always says almost home.
Yes Mr Beecham was decades ago, he and the rest of the world decided motor transport was the way forward, so he authorised the closing of many lines. Now the world see the error in this but lines have been removed and houses and factories built on the land, no chance of ever having the network running again. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😁
Hi Sherralin, another great video. Keep them coming. Having put a coffee in for you. I've been watching this on Monday, the 30th, and its absolutely raining cats and dogs here in rainy Manchester. Jus like stair rods. Anyway, enjoy😊
Thanks, I continue to admire your skill in handling your truck & trailer in very confined spaces! Just curious: do you or anyone else know what the very tall tower is that you can see from the yard of your first delivery? I thought at first that it might have something to do with the National Grid but it's not supporting any power cables.
Hello 👋 my friend.hope you are well nice little run for you.but you don't want that rain.supose you don't mind if you are going to get some sunshine afterwards.take care and keep enjoying life Phil 👍🍀🇬🇧😁
I deliver to Heaton depot and its often a pain in the backside even in a 3.5 ton van, especially when theres a few hgv's there at the same time. Just after passing Washington services on the A1 northbound you move over to the right side lane for the A194M for the Tyne tunnell,,and you dont pass the angel
Thanks again for a really enjoyable video, I do like the ones where you are delivering to depots. Typical UK every season in 24 hours.🤣🤣 Safe journeys.
Hi angel thanks again for taking the time to film this content for us to enjoy. Jeez my pet hate is a man supposedly at work with his hands in the pocket aaaaargh drives me nuts lol.
Yet another nice trip thank you. It seems nowhere thinks about delivery trucks and go out of their way to make deliveries difficult for drivers. Good job you are a professional. Looking forward to the next one cheers.😁
I am usually fed up & dismissive of elf & safety. But when it involves crossing main line railway (with overhead electric lines); I would be all ears & compliant!!! Love these rlwy vids. Yours sincerly, the Anorak...LOL!
Another great video. I only ever used the tunnel once, out of curiosity. I usually loaded out of Grants House, about 3 in the afternoon so by the time I got to Newcastle it was gone7 in the evening, so I just went straight through town, and over the bridge. Most of those rail yards were set out in the 40's and only meant for ridges. I used to got to one in Wakefield with a drawbar set up... not fun at all. If you're into reading books, try old mate Mick Twemlows book, " Vodka Cola Cowboys "Available from Old Pond Publishing. He was an owner driver working for Chepstow in the 90's doing internals in Russia . I'm sure you would understand the implications of doing that at that time. If you like it, he did another 3 books as a follow up which I can give you a link to.
Enjoyable video. ( Jarrow Marc, 26 days commenced 5.10.36 - you were sot on!). Editors privilege re the route - no problem to me. Thanks. Phil, Suffolk.
First time here. Enjoyed the journey. What ridiculously tight entrances to your stops. The poor road surfaces don't help, & will only get worse. 3rd world is here.
Hi Sherralin, as you know , devout Scania V8 man. How come you've ended up with a "yorkie bar" showing my age. When you said "not a fan" , totally understand. When you've had the pleasure of a V8 Scanny rumbling below, no matter the model, you got a real truck. Hope you get your Scanny back soon. My old boss lovely bloke 30 years ago, came to me smiling one day announcing, "hi Mark, brand new MAN for you! Did another 324000 miles in my 141. Guess my answer 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Take care MARK
@@GBtrucklady sorry I thought your video showed you driving passed it as it’s between the A1and A167 Durham road that’s what puzzled me old man easily confused
First tunnel built in the 60s it's getting a tidy up at the moment, so there's a contraflow one lane each way through the new tunnel, traffic is a nightmare at peak times
I`m waiting for you to do my local depots, Bournemouth, Salisbury and Eastleigh. Thinking about them, Salisbury is probably the easiest with Eastleigh having a wonderful double bend arrangement over a bridge while Bournemouth is just among the houses!
Old man not puzzled the Angel of the north is edited in different sky plus look at bottom right of video I have passed the Angel hundreds of times to have her on your right going on 194m is impossible not complaining just stating a fact

Leeds is just a nightmare whichever route you use these days. Roadworks galore, bus and cycle lanes, planters, speed bumps, traffic calming etc all reducing the lanes and routes available to motorists. Don't even go near the city centre - they hate vehicles. I can get down the A1 to Newark quicker then I can to get across the city!

Another you tube lorry driver star in the making, let's have a look at this on then
Sorry I have zero star quality. 😂😂 It’s about the job not me! 😁
used to drive buses up that road to Neville Hill depot, if you had come other way along the A64 from the city the turn is a lot easier.
Thanks I’ll bear it in mind next time 👍🏻😁

Another ace video! Strange but I don't remember the Tyne Tunnel being so long. Ho hum.....
Don’t think it’s been extended 🤷🏼♀️😁
@@GBtrucklady foggy memory with old age, m' lovely. 😄😄
Saying that nither do i but that was many years ago.
I’m puzzled how can you see the statue of the north you would turn off at Washington services for the Tyne tunnel 🤔
You can see it up on the hill waving at you. Off on A194M

I thought the same lol
Yes thats the way i use to go, looks like they have put a link from the A1 now ie M194.
I always found my mobile phone doesn't work on these rail yards. Something to do with the overheads/signalling?
Maybe. 😁
Only thing that is missing is the back seat 🪑 driver (no license needed). All these years, ones been aimlessly driving and getting Lost! 😂😂
Keep safe
Will do 😁👍🏻
What an old looking tunnel but then most of England looks pretty old.
😂😂 Yep, we do history 😂😂

@@GBtrucklady For sure
We wont tell anyone you missed your turning or to go through tunnel you wouldnt have seen your angel will we LOL.
Don’t know why you think I missed the turning 🤔 went in on A194M
@@GBtrucklady Because you take turning next to angel which is past 194 then next bit you take 194 after services editing maybe ?
Sherellin, is that a different truck from your normal vehicle. The engine sounded a lot louder than normal. Sarah from Tasmania.
