I never got to play any of the PS2 AC games. Armored Core 1 was one of TWO games in my entire life of which I skipped school to keep playing it. I was by no means an angel in elementary school XD. The custom badges and paint schemes, combined with Shape memory alloys... just bliss..

Gonna be honest, if there's one thing that i would change in this video, its gotta be............ Artifical Sky IV moves up to S teir.

Dooryard Track seems like it was inspired by folk dance music, those tones and beats are so similar.

I'm not certain, but I think the mono-eyed AC on the left at 5:35 might actually be Balteus, or at least some sort of PCA mech. Just a hunch though, all those PCA mech have that mono-eye motif.

I've been into the AC series since AC2, and for a series that's always had absolute banger soundtracks I gotta say the music in 4 through 6 just did nothing for me.

Well after careful analysis. I think this might actually be in 6th gen. Here's the reason: 1. The blue booster color. If it was in 4th-5th gen it would be orange whiteish color. Because of kojima particle. But instead, its blue. The color many AC in 6 have. Sure 5th gen have blue but 5th gen blue is blue mix with orange, basically flame. 2. Notice the red eyes on the AC? The red glow heavily feature in 6. AC6 reveal trailer, AC6 story trailer, and even during in game cutscene when Arquebus capture institute city, all of them show red glow. 4th gen doesnt have this and 5th gen does have red glow but they are like 5 meter tall. 3. You might not know this, but AC6 was supposed to have back booster like in FA. But it was cut. Although the alpha version of back booster was simple and kinda look generic. What if they remodel the back booster to look like VOB? And iirc, when 621 enter Rubicon, the capsule does seem to have VOB as well but its too big. 4. There also recent steamdb internal test, meaning that an update is coming. This is my theory, what if the secret level AC will be playable in 6? And if the secret level AC VOB is actually back booster, it mean playable back booster will return. Also the AC might be a teaser for AC6.5 aesthetic. Like how Aretha teased AA and speed back in 4th gen. Or it could just be like what i said back then. An original timeline unique to the movie. Like how most AC media outside of game is their own timeline mismatched of many gen.

the core part in that one shot seems to be really similar to that one core part in ac6, the LAMMERGEIER/40F, a Schneider part, as seen by the central pointy thing goint towards the front and the open sections around it exposing it and sort of holding it in a 'bowl'

The part variety was such a wtf moment for me in this game. Some parts are just too unique and useful and it's boring because you may end up using this same piece in many of your builds. For example, the heavy reverse joint, imo it's the most useful and practical leg in this game, you can take a lot with it, almost everything you need for your medium-heavy build, and I ended using it in most my builds. Actually, you can't make many variations of certain types of build, not effectively at least. For example, we have the best medium-heavy parts, and if you want to make many medium-heavy builds you'll use the same ones always, the only reason to use different (and worse ones) is for the sake of design and being different. Lightweight parts? We have basically two sets of it. Tetrapods? If you want a heavy tetrapod, you have only one option of leg, and there we go. It's kinda frustrating how we lack alternatives in many cases. And the parts cohesion is something that annoys me a lot too. Every piece was made with the set in mind, they are all parts of specific robots, they aren't individually made like in the first games as you mentioned, so I feel some lack of identity to the parts individually. So when you build a robot it feels like you are dismantling pre-existing ones and glueing them, and when I look to some models I just think "well that's a combination of Rusty's AC with Snail's, with Carla's and Walter's..." As most parts are from a specific character

Formula Front and Armored Core 1 / Project Phantasma deserve to be higher imo. "Dooryard" getting a 5.0 for example is insane, sounds like something straight out of the movie Akira. The album version of "Grip" also slaps. Fake Facer International is a personal 10 for me, Fever goes hard, gah there's just so much good music from Gen 1 and Formula Front

This game's story framing and set pieces were so ahead of its time. I don't normally like remakes but I think this game deserves one, just imagine Spirit of Motherwill with modern visuals

At the very least it'll be interesting to watch because we've never ever seen AC in that kind of almost live action animation before I hope they do it justice.

I'm a bit late to this one, but in regards to the front shot of the AC, it's core reminds me of the CR-LAHIRE Omer made core from AC4A. Obviously not the big open part, but the overall shape and curvature of it.

39:05 Hmm... I feel awkward here being one who was too weirded out by the far cry from the vibes of either AA, 3, or SL to jam... I had also jumped straight in a day or 2 fresh from the extremely abrupt and anti-climactic ending that was Silent Line's. *It was really weird going straight from Silent Line to this,* and this was further intensified by my desparate hunger for closure on what the heck actually happened in the climax of Silent Line. In general as a track, way more... I don't even know the words I'm looking for than I'm used to.

*ARTIFICIAL SKY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PLAYLIST!?* (No, we cool, just overexhaderating. I will say it's one of my favorite music pieces of all time. As a track alone, incredibly atmospheric, invoking a combination of dread/mystery, bravery, and hope all at once. And as the main theme of Armored Core 3, these emotions encapsulate everything the story and world are gonna put you through. The amount of times I've listened to it has to be somewhere well over 100.)

To be honest... I don't think the turret in Depth 1 being extremely vulnerable once you reach it in itself is an issue, especially not with being the first among 6 boss fight encounters in a row across that entire line of missions... And it wasn't advertised as being anything more than a stationary defensive gun either. The actual journey to reach it alone being more engaging was all it really needed, like actual dodging and weaving as you make a rush towards it as opposed to just... clinging to the elevator rails as you pray you don't get hit during the plummet.

First of all, this was an incredible video, the amount of effort and dedication you put into this is very impressive. AC4 & AC4A will always be peak Armored Core for me. Soundtrack alone, it was pure bliss. Right behind it would be the 20th anniversary, which brings back that same nostalgia from past Armored Core’s by remixing some of the best tracks in the franchise. Disc 2 especially, is banger after banger. Thank you for this video

The way the head part is placed within the core part in that one shot reminds me of White Glint, which has a similar behavior when overed boosting. This is most apparent during the opening cinematic for Armored Core For Answer. So if you ask me we’re two for two on White Glint references in this trailer alone

Other people have already mentioned the LAMMERGEIER core part being hollow but it actually first reminded me of ACV's last boss EXUSIA's core part EXUSIA wasn't an AC, if anything it was more like a NEXT, but if the show is a meld of 4th, 5th, and 6th gen then it might be possible that it's related Just thought would point that out since didn't see anyone else mention EXUSIA, but if I were to guess it does feel more based on the LAMMERGEIER/40F

Those arms look like argyros heavy pattern arms but the rest of the AC looks middleweight. So yeah maybe some inspiration from old designs brought to a gen 6 artstyle

Gen 5 acs are hella tiny. Like 5 meters. And their Cockpits open from the front, kind alike a Gundam. Unlike every other Gen where the cockpit opens from a hatch behind the head and drops down like a tank. And all ACs plus Nexts are 10 meters tall For source look up Zendia's trailer for Last Raven. It shows her leaving her cockpit. Then the gen 5 cockpit source is from one of the official artbooks
