This fight gave me such a damn run for my money. I managed to eventually get him by staggering him to dual back mounted lasers, but it took a while. He was surprisingly harder than most of the arena fights around his rank for me at least.
You're not the only one His dual songbirds can stagger you real quick and his tank threads give him absurd level of mobility The guy should be several ranks above his original
Gatling gun with zimmerman shotgun, Songbird on the left and missiles on the right shoulder with bipeds and heavy core has got me through to chapter 3 and all of the arena so far without much issue ✌🏼 fun build and its not that op so it doesnt get boring
i just got to 18D last night, been running a light reverse joint with an MG and backup shotgun on the right and the starter pulse blade and a split missile launcher on the left, close range FCS, assault armor, and a high cap generator that leaves me alot of extra EN for recharge rate and tuned my melee damage all the way up and ballistic damage halfway up. my basic plan is outrun and out gun until i can get a stagger, only thing ive had any issue with in the game was the sea spider, basicaly playing the game like AC4 mixed with some of my vertical tactics from 2 and 3
some deep intel on c17, just beat him in my same light build, was a challenge tho. his cannons and shot gun were the main annoyance, what i ended up doing was waiting until he fired both his cannons then used the lull in firing to divekick in to blade, because with his treads that was the best way to get ACS damage, then unload into him, took 3 staggers and he was done
Ahah It's really cool seeing a lot of comments with different builds stating this exact thing, seems there are a lot of strong combos out there to cheese with
Howdy do! After finally watching some videos, it seems i might be pretty decent at this game. For bigger ACs, i recommend extreme aggresion at the start. Ideally a drive by stagger move on the way past, then immidiately camera switch once you pass them to face their back and punish. Don't forget shoulder weapons on the initial drive. I'd also recommend limiting the "heavy guns" on most bipeds bc stopping to fire is very risky without good timing. A good time to do this is right in their back pocket. Once you get the circling and movement, it just becomes a matter of resource management with energy and reload times. For perspective i cleared S rank 1st place in 30 seconds in a few tries. From what I'm seeing online. I believe that is good. Hope my tips can help someone who might be stuck as well.
Oh, it’s fucking Candle. I fought him a few hours ago trying to get some battle logs. That missile+songbird combo is pretty brutal, the only way I killed him is with my 1-2 Punch build (Laser Lance and Pilebunker). Destroyed him in seconds with that build.
My method to beat hims relatively reliably was a biped with a plasma rifle in one hand and the medium laser rifle in the othe, with two.single barrel laser cannons on the back for when he got staggered
Yeah I can definitely tell the arena has changed a lot and looks like they're not making it easy plus there are some weapons that can help you defeat these guys real easily without any regrets remember that super shotgun that we saw in the preview known as the one that's highly reinforced and capable of kicking their stagger bar up to full yeah that weapon would be perfect against this guy since he's a long-range ordinances but his cannons take awhile to reload so that gives you an opportunity to smack him down with a couple of shots and that you if you get in real close Pandora many different weapons to secret ones even and they're in the campaign storyline even the selection mission area you could even find and hunt down these weapons and armor that should be able to help you plus there are over 17 of them in total and they're scattered all over the place too during certain chapters that you've completed plus they're very worth it to find
I went back to fight this guy again with my missle and lance build, and it was night and day how fast he died in comparaison to the first time I beat him. Funny enough, I beat this guy by staggering him with pistols and than pilebunkering him into non-existence.
There are certain builds everyone seems to be taking that trivializes the game. I've gotten a lot of shit in the comments, but if you just try and use something non meta and be creative you'll soon find out how hard the game is
I usually pair the charge weapons with a machine gun or melee (gatling if you got the load for it) and try to go for the insta stagger with the massive charge shot and go in with the other hand to deal the dps while they are staggered. They take MASSIVE damage during the time the bar is flashing red so that is the time you really want to be hitting them. missiles and the charge shot can often be plenty to get that bar staggered. also I find that backing up while firing missiles tends to make them hit a little more (unless your using the chain missiles then it straight to the face baby!)
Not sure if there's this option on console, but you can turn up the camera move speed. Aside from that, this fight was also very difficult for me, and weird as it is, I found some of the A - S rank fights pretty damn easy. 🤔
I discovered that the AI will not evade the shoulder double GL songbird or whatever it called for some reason. which turn this fight a cake walk, used this information as you will.
I ran that set up for the first few chapters. Then I added just enough weight to get twin songbirds on the back. And it's been one of my favorite builds in any AC game.
I used a full nachtreier frame with the ten cell missile launcher on the right shoulder a two shot split/multi-missile on the left, the mg that looks like the ar from doom 2016, and the second shotgun you unlock, at the end of my first play through I had the rubicon institute ia fcs, generator, and booster, that build got me through most of the hard fight in the game
they actually need to step in and give it a nerf, ive been fucking annihilating everything in sight, even the triple boss fight with raven and king only took me like four tries because of how busted it is.
Can I just said that i cheat the fight with only missiles? Cause... i find it funny that using missile really is the strap but at the same time, I would come back and try on different strat like Bunker Shot combo or Lance of Light build.
I've been avoiding pvp arena in this game because I don't want to just use the same Zimmerman/Songbird combo everyone is using. But it seems like it's the only truly effective weaponry.
@@SilverGlint It kind of sucks the game forces you to balance for it. I'm honestly surprised by the terrible balancing of weapons in this game. The stun launcher absolutely trivializes bosses. I can't fathom why they allowed it ingame in its current state. We shouldn't have to force ourselves to use weak weapons that run out of ammo all the time to get a challenge.
@@Krystalmyth I mean to be fair in singleplayer I have been finding things pretty challenging but that's maybe because of how I like building. If anything AC has always been like this in all previous entries so I guess it's just how it goes. PvP though could use some love asap
@@SilverGlint Basically if you run dual stun launchers you can two shot any boss. It's absolutely out of control atm. Dunkey just did a review that nailed it sadly. Honestly they could fix it by making weapons like the shotgun and stun launcher just do stagger and not both stagger and massive damage but now dual Zimmerman stunlauncher is king in pve. Dual zims are broken in pvp too I gather. All due to the same issue. Game needs rebalancing bad. :c
Yeah I've been experimenting with different builds that I find interesting but unfortunately balance is a bit skewed in this regulation towards stagger
TH-cam keeps deleting my message for some reason, oh well. Awesome work on the compilation of tries! Glad you presevered in the face of adversary. How many tries did it take? My lightweight mech based on AC4FA with 28 rockets seems to do the trick for most things.
Notice how most of the deaths were caused by momentum-canceling weapon animations. Just use basic weapons that don't give you such vulnerabilities, and he's kind of a joke.
Wheelchair meta is op
Taking notes

Exactly he feels very strong!
You're not the only one
His dual songbirds can stagger you real quick and his tank threads give him absurd level of mobility

The only fight in the arena that walled me for any length of time was Maeterlink... Then I solved the problem the good old fashion American way.
Gatling gun with zimmerman shotgun, Songbird on the left and missiles on the right shoulder with bipeds and heavy core has got me through to chapter 3 and all of the arena so far without much issue ✌🏼 fun build and its not that op so it doesnt get boring
I saw the thumbnail and knew exactly where this was going lmao
this dude doesn't fuck around

Dual Stun needle + dual Gatling gun trivializes every fight in this game

I got thru all the arena using the dual ducket handgun, blade in left shoulder and the starter missile on the right shoulder.
I advice tapping linear/energy rifle when its firing missiles at you, then charge when your certain that their weapons are mostly reloading

There are some tough foes here. Arena testing our skills to the max.
Yeah I think unless you do some meta gaming this is pretty tough!
My method to beat hims relatively reliably was a biped with a plasma rifle in one hand and the medium laser rifle in the othe, with two.single barrel laser cannons on the back for when he got staggered
How people struggle in arena, like just grab big guns and shoot, i first try all the ones from f to b, i didn’t unlock the last ones
Only 50 seconds 2 shotguns and double barrel cannon

Yeah they changed a lot how engagements work in this game, I'm loving it so far!
I just kept running around and using my missile thay do lots of damage surprisingly
Lol, i just used a laser blade and the pilebunker
Just hit rank 1 today, and this fight was still one of my biggest stumps.
Can't really tell if I'm using a cheese of some sort, but I blitzed the Arena super easy. And before any may ask, NO I didn't always rock zims or gats
I went back to fight this guy again with my missle and lance build, and it was night and day how fast he died in comparaison to the first time I beat him. Funny enough, I beat this guy by staggering him with pistols and than pilebunkering him into non-existence.

Light tank tread meta NPC bruh

All about build matchups and playstyles, maybe I just wasn't running something compatible for this one ahah
I discovered that the AI will not evade the shoulder double GL songbird or whatever it called for some reason. which turn this fight a cake walk, used this information as you will.
I think you’ll find him again on a mission in chapter 3 as a combat log
And I'll have my revenge
I’ve noticed that a lightweight build with a shotgun and machine gun with two missile launchers melts every arena opponent, speed is key
Been dual shotgunning everything in sight to mostly success
I ran that set up for the first few chapters. Then I added just enough weight to get twin songbirds on the back. And it's been one of my favorite builds in any AC game.
Maybe I need to try that out

Whatever it takes to win!
I was stubborn and didn't want to change my AC at this point and holy shit did I get fucked for it.
I beat the wall mission but the is and arena won’t unlock
It's only a bit later than that!
Got it. Thanx ✌🏿
I've been avoiding pvp arena in this game because I don't want to just use the same Zimmerman/Songbird combo everyone is using. But it seems like it's the only truly effective weaponry.
Meta pvp be like that.
Though I'm going to try and make a series around just using every non meta weapon in the game

I blasted through all these, the only real challenge was Carla.
get quad legs and weapons with high stagger, you'll win in less than a minute

@@SilverGlint Point proven like a true raven!
One can say that failiure is the greatest master of all...
I did the entire arena with double shotguns
I'm trying that right now actually
have u fought a guntank?
Basically this is a guntank ahah
Notice how most of the deaths were caused by momentum-canceling weapon animations. Just use basic weapons that don't give you such vulnerabilities, and he's kind of a joke.
Yeah, I'm sure there a tool for the job somewhere in the shop for mostly any opponent in the garage
LOL get filtered.
I got filtered hard
