    Interracting with a key item is very difficult due to its small collider. Does anyone know how i could increase the area of an item for the crosshair to trigger the interraction? Maybe creating a new collider and connecting it to the blueprint instead of the "self" node which targets only the item itself.     Anyone wanting to make this system with this video please be aware that you will not be able to get all of the instructions in this single video, the video uses previously made files, you will have to check the author's full video but it is unknown if you will be able to find it, this is a tutorial full of commercialism and artificially placed barriers.

Easy to follow but , I am having trouble at 9:23 seconds with the material coding since I have substrate materials on and don't want to re-work my materials it all if I turn it off. I cant change the "material domain" and I don't know what "Blend Mode" to use. Can you tell me what I need to do? Thanks

    6:21 when I do “get player charecter” it won’t let me connect it into interact and yes I made sure it was target is interact_interface and yes it has the envelope at the top right corner the interacter is dark blue while the return value on get player controller is light blue

      Did you check if the interact connection type is correct? Its supposed to be a character type which was setup in 1:01 1. Open Interract Interface component in your folder -> 2. click on the left most interract node -> 2. check at the bottom right details panel, if the right type for the interactor is set to the (BLUE) colored (character -> object reference) type. That fixed it for me.

    For anyone who wants to add locked functionality to the door, I've managed to do so by making some very small adjustments to the door logic, on the Branch we created to trigger either Is Interacting with Door or Handle Door depending on the resulting value, break the link to handle door, and move it over, press and hold "B" then left click to quickly add a branch, link the "true" of the branch connected to Is Interacting With Door to this new branch, now, for condition, create a boolean, call it what you like, I personally went with "Is Locked?", and do not forget to set it to instance editable otherwise all doors will be locked , now get your new boolean, and off of it, add an == node, set it to false, link the == to your branch, if true, we want to call "Handle Door", if false, we want to print a string, set it to what you want, in my case it is simply "Door Is Locked"

    Very good tutorial video! There are three things I'd be happy to see in the next video if you want to continue this. 1: dropping a picked up item when deleting 2: combining (you said you would do this) 3: using items (e.g. weapon, or flashlight, etc.) But until then, thanks for your work!

      Can definitely add in the future, RE7 doesn’t have that functionality so I didn’t include it in this section. It’s pretty simple to do however, after deleting the item you’d want to do a line trace directly down as the location and then create your item blueprint there with the structure of the item of that bp have all the properties of the current item you deleted. If more people want this I can include it in the next part along w the book bag and storage compartments :)

    If you are new coming here, move along, there's nothing to see xD The problem with the video, apart from being too long, is that It's badly edited, there're many things that are not shown because of the editing that without them makes the whole video worthless because what it's showing It will never work on your project, even If you follow step by step. Don't know the author, but with the whole Patreon thing, wouldn't be surprised if It's on purpose just to force people to pay :P

      Hi, I understand that this is just your opinion but what you’re saying is entirely false and tbh just rude bc I offer you a free (and in my opinion high-level) product. Firstly, I’m sorry it’s “too long”, replicating a system with as much modularity/customization and explanation of what I’m doing while making the video for such an advanced system can make it longer than normal. Secondly, I have never and will never cut anything out of any tutorial that is integral to the process of creating the final product. That defeats the entire purpose of posting it on TH-cam or in general and if I did that trust me, there would be nonstop dislikes and hate comments but instead there’s a 99% like-to-dislike ratio on this video w/ hundreds of ppl thanking me. If any new comers are here reading this, I’ll be honest, the learning curve can be hard for new unreal engine users. Does that mean it’s impossible? No, not at all, but does that mean that you may make little mistakes? Certainly. For this exact reason I have an entire discord community which at this point has amounted over 1,100 users. Lastly, incredibly rude accusation to say this is because of Patreon or whatever, on the Patreon you can either get videos early or get the download of the files STRICTLY if it’s more convenient for you and you don’t want to follow from the beginning (many other ue tutorial creators do the same thing btw). This is because this series has now amounted over 35 videos in length and many people would rather just catch up instead of binging all of those tutorials. It of course helps me, but It’s out of pure convenience for my supporters. And To the person who wrote this comment and others like them, I would recommend instead of writing rude comments to join the discord where there’s an entire section where people have talked about the inspect system video at great lengths. I hope you understand, I make these videos entirely free for everyone to watch and learn and with comments like these it is demotivating to do so.
