I'm surprised you didn't add some of the lentils to your chili...sometimes I do that if I make vegetarian chili. I'm going to try that pasta strawberry breakfast! 😆

I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches, fried bananas, frozen bananas mashed up mixed with peanut butter (like ice cream!) frozen mashed banana + frozen mashed strawberries, mixed with a little cream or half and half, and a little sugar also makes a lovely ice cream type dessert. Vanilla pudding with sliced bananas and vanilla wafers. Banana chips. I'm all about the sweet banana... OH, and that bean soup looked SO yummy! Also, adding cooked lentils to your hamburger sloppy joe mix can use some up, but I think you have already done something similar?

I cranberry applesauce this fall. I used one 8 oz jar with 8 oz cream cheese,1 cup sweetener, teaspoon vanilla and dash cinnamon. Blend. Great as dip or frosting

In Hungary we eat as well sweet pasta. Ie: pasta with ground walnut and powdered sugar. Try it and you will like it. :)

This might have been the most unique combo of recipes I've seen in your videos! I love how you're so open to trying new things in these challenges. As a kid I remember my mom buying banana ketchup but we only ate it with certain foods. I think its common in filipino food? Not going to lie, with how often you were saying the word banana in this video I was tempted to turn it into a drinking game 😂

What an eclectic mix of recipes this week! Everything from classic to ethnic. A true trip around the work, right in your own kitchen. And you even took the family along for the ride. Love it!!! One of my easiest meals is to make flat breads. I usually make them with naan or pita bread, BBQ or Buffalo wing sauce (mixed with ranch dressing, to cut the heat) as the base sauce, grated cheese (whatever i have on hand, like cheddar, havarti mozzarella, etc) and whatever else suites our fancy that we have hanging around. Possible toppings include leftover cooked chicken, feta cheese, bacon bits, ham, leftover steak, spinch, onion, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, pinapple, etc. Mix and match to your preference! Great for kids or picky eaters (like me) as each flat bread can easily be topped with what each person likes.

Love ur creativity this week. Also, love how everyone is helping with the cooking this week.

It's the 6th Week of this LOW SPEND PANTRY CHALLENGE and I'm continuing on, looking for BUDGET MEAL IDEAS, trying new recipe suggestions and using up old or less popular items in my pantry! I still had some help in the kitchen this week making my helper's classic meals like chili and spaghetti! What meals does the NON-COOKER in your HOUSEHOLD make?! Thank you for the shout out! You wouldn't believe that I was sitting around a fire when I saw your video! We are RVing down the East Coast of the US at the moment and were enjoying a cozy fire in the firepit when my name popped up on your video! It was perfect!

I add ground chicken or turkey to a bean chili I make. Mix ground chicken with some refried beans, onions and garlic for a burrito wrap with some fresh tomatoes and sour cream to dip them in. . Ground chicken meatballs.....add ground chicken, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, 1 egg, ketchup, splash of milk, finely diced green pepper & onion, shredded Parmesan, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Brown the meatballs and then place in a sauce pan of tomato sauce and simmer til heated through. Serve over some pasta and a sprinkle of Parmesan.

It amazes me how much your food costs in Canada. I'm in the states and yes the prices are rising, but I'm still able to shop for whole foods a lot cheaper. I just picked up 2 three pound bags of onions for $3. I grow a ton of celery in our garden and slice it up and freeze or can it so I have it all winter long. Love making celery soup. I found a super easy and delicious celery soup recipe that we love. 1 bunch of celery, 2 small onions, 6 or so garlic cloves, 2 carrots, 2 white potatoes, dill, pepper, salt, butter and 4 cups of chicken bone broth. Dice the veggies and cook everything down till soft. Once all cooked use an immersion blender or blender to cream everything til smooth. I freeze half of it while we eat on the remainder with grilled sandwiches or a side with dinner or lunch. If you want it creamier add a dollop of sour cream.

I only recently learned that we can freeze chopped celery, onions, peppers, and green onions raw and unblanched. It's so handy to just grab a handful whenever I need them.

I did my thanksgiving shopping yesterday…coming after being out of town for two weeks, I was very happy to be quite close to my $50 goal.😂 I had resigned myself to being a lot higher, but those Thanksgiving sales came in handy!! 😅

Onions help with so much in cooking! I find with onions and carrots (garlic or garlic powder) life is more delicious.

Banana nut bread is a given. Dip the banana in peanut butter for a great snack. . I love banana sandwiches. Banana sandwiches & cucumber sandwiches are my favorite sandwiches. Banana pudding was always great. Haven’t had it in years. My grandmother used to make it every Sunday when I was a kid.

Just love the grocery hauls. Keep it up you are doing great!

I have a red lentil patties recipe. It works well, I add a little ww flour and some Montreal steak spice for umph. Nice to go for lunch with assorted crunch veggies and dip.

Savory bananas. My grandmother (and mum) makes something they call peruvian chicken. I not sure it is authentic peruvian, but it is delicious. You put chicken pieces with the skin in an oven safe tray (can be a whole chicken in pieces or chicken thighs, but it should be bone in), you can season them with salt, garlic and paprika/herbs you add broth in the bottom of the pan, no more than 1/3 of the chicken should be submerged (top up with water if it runs dry in the cooking process. Add bacon pieces and a couple of leeks in rounds and the juice of one lemon. You cook it on 200 c for about 30 minutes and THEN you put BANANAS halves and slice in 2 on top (4-6 bananas, depending on how much chicken you made). Then leave it another 20 minutes. If your chicken is larger do 40+20 minutes. Serve with rice and put the broth from the tray on your rice, it is delicious. I do expect whoever gave them this recipe had something with plantains in Peru, maybe. But I do love the bananas (I didn't when I was a child). Keep up the good work. I love seeing what you come up with 😊

In the UK, we would just put hot milk over the Shredded Wheat in a bowl, with some sugar on top.
