This guy is a little twerp- as it seems his client is. I think he got way too wrapped up in the Client's narrative and probably needs to take a break or go get some therapy. It appeared that all he did was ASSUME and misrepresent-attempt to confirm his own biases. He lacks perspective and his cognitive processes are DYSFUNCTIONAL- he's all emotional reasoning. If there are "emails" he certainly is NOT going to get them this way.

I wonder if the court would be that nice if it was a man that ran away with his son.The systems of justice is Broken.

I used to train CMH staff in a crisis response model often used by schools. Protocols are great, but there are so many variables at play during an escalation. Therapeutic holds should be among the last options to be used as this can be traumatizing to the person being put in the hold. Verbal and non-verbal de-escalation should be used as much as possible. However, there are times holds might be necessary - specifically when physical safety is at risk (depending on the intervention model and if the agency allows this - some do, some don't). Limbs fly, staff get assaulted. Sometimes it's necessary to deflect blows. You're dealing with youth with limited coping abilities, hopped up on adrenaline stuck in fight-flight-freeze mode. I wish this prosecutor would go through training or see escalation in process. Let her experience all there is to experience. Donny wasn't this far out of his element. This is also why lawyers should not solely dictate policy and procedure.

That last girl has obviously been treated like a spoiled toddler her entire life. And now she doesn’t understand why stomping around and holding her breath isn’t working anymore.

wow. Claims she doesn't understand why she has to pay rent. Her friends/family have taught her trigger words for the court to try to delay the inevitable. Waits until 3 days before court to call legal aid - all the while rent is accumulating and she still hasn't recertified for assistance, which won't cover the back rent. Now suddenly the apt is unlivable but still wants to live there. This is one of the main reasons rents are so high nowadays- people like her. And sadly, there are a lot of them.

Judge Simpson was so frustrating in this one. He was claiming they were being difficult but he was the one laughing and suggesting ridiculous options like “can you guys just talk to each other.” Like obviously not..this is a claim for possession. Even if you’re only going after possession now, you can file a different claim for owed rent later, no? If the judge asked what day I needed to go in for repairs, I would’ve said starting tomorrow and I’ll need to be there everyday for months. Absolutely maddening. This isn’t funny, the poor man is out 20k

It’s scary how many people are making excuses for what they actually see with their eyes. He was in the basement and she ran down the stairs like a mad woman. She continued even after that. She did this with her child in her arms. No loving parent does that. No sane parent does that. The THC situation is bond I think and it’s a good point, now most other courts I watch have no alcohol or drugs unless rx’d while on bond- if TX does not have that then there is a real legal issue to invalidate bond violations.
