This is AMAZING vs. This SUCKS: The Duality of Living Abroad
"I'm leaving and I'm never coming back!" Aht Aht... you sure about that?
In this video, we're diving into two opposing tales about leaving home and living abroad. I'm opening up about what went wrong with my moves to Colombia and China because I came across two Instagram Reels that compelled me to make this video! They both jumped off the screen at me for two different reasons. Watch and find out what they were!
We love a "Keep it 💯" girlie, and this video is full of raw, honest feelings about experiences as women who dared to leave the United States of America (and Australia) to try life abroad. Which end of the spectrum are you on? Let me know in the comments!

Hello, where did ya bought the tickets from and price? Thanks
i sun gaze so the little sun is disappointing
How was it making friends there? Did you learn the language before you moved or did you get by fine with basic mandarin?
You did such a great job with this video!
That city has almost as many people as there are in my entire country.
I 100% agree with you. I've been to Leshan and Chengdu for a while. Even as a white guy, you get so many stares. Oh. My. God. And then if I go out to the countryside villages, it gets crazy, it's like a celebrity experience and a bit unsettling. Like you feel, when people stare at you in America, it can be a dangerous thing... In China, people are harmless and curious, but I know exactly what you mean. Good lord to be a black woman in China... But there is NEVER a boring moment in China. Hella fun country and really kind, if extremely blunt, people. Outstanding food everywhere - hell, at home I'm eating Chinese most of the time anyway. Only thing I missed from America were the tacos. That said, it does get very lonely - basically nobody in China speaks English. Great for learning a language quickly, but good lord, trying to navigate all their apps without knowing fluent Chinese is really painful. And you -have- to use their local apps for everything, from payment, to maps, to their review sites, to their trip planning, to their messaging, to booking plane tickets and trains. Also you're not fat. Chinese people are just way too thin. You're 100% right about watermelon, though... My wife makes watermelon smoothies almost every day :D
Wow… I thought I recognized that seductive voice 😂 Hope you’re doing well Jess!
Chin up!
I want to live there for a few years, it’s such a surreal human experience to live somewhere so populated
That’s super disrespectful and the need to put it on the news. No manners. All over the world , that’s disrespectful, especially y’all comments about blacks learn how to fn treat someone with different skin color. That’s trash behavior.
I don't understand Black folks moving to Non-Black countries with no upward mobility outside of being an English teacher. I just don't get it. I feel these types always come back home after going through their phase.
Such good information, thank you so much.
Hey Jess. Where are you buying the national park ticket?
hi.there re several gates of the park and u can buy the ticket at any of them
to start with a nonsense is not a good way to start; Chongqing is not the largest city in the world; not even in top 30
Thanks for the video shedding some light on that amazing looking city. I have often thought about traveling there from my home base in Osaka. Just an FYI, at 4:35 that's not Chongqing, that's Hong Kong (where I have lived before and thus can immediately recognize it).
Hi was there a weight limit?
This woman is an agent for CCP
i did not see a lot of english words in chongqing except going into a walmart
👍
👍
I’d love to be sponsored with you as a black person so as to experience it for a month or so!
How good do the people speak English there ? I’m thinking of going for an exchange semester in a Chingqing college. But I don’t speak a word of Chinese.
Typical that an American thinks that the western world hasn’t heard of Chongqing.
I was searching a video about the city that wasn't either propaganda or tourist idiocy, thanks!
I miss your content what have you been up to ?
dapet hadiah dari yg Maha Kuasa dengan honeymoon ke afterlife
4:34 this is the view of victoria harbor skyline from hong kong island, not chongqing
Wow! this place looks unreal!!! thank you for showing us, i'll add this in my bucket list & chongqing
I read that you're not allowed to fly within 30metres of buildings, near crowds and not at night. You need to make sure you comply with all the regulations if you want to fly your drone in Thailand otherwise you risk a big fine and maybe even imprisionment!!! You can take a drone to Thailand no problem but obtain your authorisations before putting in the air!!!
Seems like you didn’t watch the video because I literally said this in it. 😂 Drone laws are constantly changing so yes, everyone should check the regulations and abide by them before flying in any country. Everyone includes *me* 😊
Visited China on business on occasions (Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Beijing, Hong Kong) and yes the starring is a thing. I was once followed by a bunch of curious children around a shopping mall in Nanjing which I found totally amusing as they were so cute. Was also approached (through my translator) if I knew Michael Jordan, and also approached several times by young ladies with wide eyed fascination. Apart from that China is probably the most fascinating and advanced country on the planet.
Love seeing my beautiful black brothers and sisters exploring the world and making diverse content about China
Ive been in hk and ghangzhou, and yeah they specially dislike blacks, my gf was a mixed brazilian/japanese full of tattoos n piercings, became a local celeb among girls, lol, u see some african guys with classic clothes, its clear how ppl avoid em, and look diferent, they can tolerate arabs, whites and so on, but clearly dislike blacks.
The spitting and taking pictures is so true 😂 and thank you for the advise of eating out family size 🙏🏽
Please study the Vietnam history. Tet is the Vietnamese version of Chinese lunar New year. China had occupied and influenced the Vietnamese territory. The ancestral history reveals it all.
Great looking city! Thanks for sharing. Disappointed that there is still so much public spitting going on though. I guess old habits are hard to break. Even here in NYC’s Chinatowns it took a while but has mostly gone away the last 10-15 years
How often do you have earthquakes in Chongqing?
what's month you was go there?
They look better on you, looks comfortable.✨
How do they react to disabled people?
Hey! I'm colombian with a BA in english education. Chongqing and Chengdu have been on my radar for a while and these videos cleared so many things up for me. Question:Do you think it's hard to get a salary closer to 20K cny if you don't have a native passport? What did you see among the coworkers? Thank you for your insight 🙏
its not the largest city in the world. It maybe by total area but its misleading casuse its the total administrative region
girl, just register your drone online 😂😂😂 it’s only ฿200 😅
Where did you move from?
Now I gotta visit this place, Toronto needs to build like this
Thank you so much for sharing ❤ Please can I add you to the WeChat and ask you some questions? I would like to teach in Ch❤❤❤❤
This is the future that our elders dreamed about 🤩
