Wow, nothing beats the view outside the coffe shop like that!
It's so great! The view from the top of Raffles City is epic though...at least on a clear day haha.
Chongqing evokes strong 'Blade Runner' vibes. It's an incredibly stunning location; it's unfortunate that the West often overlooks such destinations.
Yup, thats the Cyberpunk genre. So many cities in east Asia look like that, ESEPCIALLY in China. I wish we had American cities as advanced. Seattle , Chicago, NYC get close but its 100% not all together and crumbling all over the place, especiially in public transportation.
Chongqing is so 3-D and beautiful. I have never been there. Hope I will visit there one day.
You should be paid for this advertisement 😂 Loved it, makes we want to visit Chongqing. That last activity looked like scary fun. Thanks for sharing.
I agree…I should be paid for all of the things I do for free including this channel. 💀 lol Thank you for watching!!!
Nice to see your perspective of CHONGQING.I am so impressed by this. I only wish we have such modern and convenience transport system in the US. It is so dirty and dated in the US. I have been in China for a year now, and apart from some culture shock and social APP blocking, I feel that everything is acceptable. Your apartment is also quite beautiful, I wish you a happy life. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
Thank you very much! I too wish the US had many of the conveniences of China. Thanks for watching!
Glad to see another Black American traveling. Hope to see more Chongqing videos videos cuz I hope to go there one day and you have a nice smile
Not traveling, living. Lots of Black Americans live abroad. Thanks for watching!
I'm in Shenzhen, a Chinese city completely different from Chongqing. It's a beautiful and peaceful life to share a cup of coffee while watching your videos and scrolling through the comments.
I've been to Shenzhen twice! So different there. Glad you're enjoying the videos from there 💚
Hey Jess, I think you created very informative videos about places of interest in CQ. I am now using your videos as travel guide😊
I am also considering to recreate this very video. Maybe you would love to see these places and see what they look like in 2024. I will stay a week longer and see if I will be able to find all these places. I wonder if they all still exist since so many businesses closed down since the pandemic.
This video was made in 2023; post pandemic ☺️ I’m sure all these places are still there plus even more. I’d love to see what you discover!
Thanks for taking us along your journey. I really appreciate the intricate details most people would overlook. I am sure you’re really good with directions. 🙈😳😂
This was a very interesting video of Chong Qin
Thanks so much for sharing
The location of this compound is where I was born and grew up😅 but I didn’t even visit it.
Enjoy your time! Thanks for sharing 🙏
We never visit the places in our own backyards. 😂 Thanks for watching!
Yes, finding meaning and love in life is a much worthy journey. China can be too safe and easy for that.
these mega cities in China have just been built recently, say the last 25-30 years to accommodate millions of residents. That itself is extraordinary!
If I'm not mistaken, this city was like a village back in the '90s!
Thank you for the video😊
I was born and grew up right there at Chao Tian Men😅 but its 90’s was not a village at all, not so modern is true. The 90’s Chongqing has the population size of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai combined.
Chongqingnese people are very warm hearted.
Yeah, our girl came through! ❤️💪🤠Now that you have the following you wanted, are you posting once / week?
It was never about the following lol, I’ve always tried to post once a week and I’ll keep trying to post every Monday!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember the first time I went chongqing and mistakenly tried possibly the hottest local hotpot, it was so good yet so spicy I ended up with massive diarrhea next morning. But you know what, freaking worth it!
I just moved to Chongqing so I like this video. I hope I can visit all these places. It's sad to see that you've left 😓I see that you have locs but do you happen to know any others here who can do black hair? haha.
Congratulations on moving to the best city in China! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who does hair there. I've always done my own. I'm pretty sure there are a few in Chengdu so you may have to take that nice little train ride up there. Check WeChat groups. I hope you enjoy your time there!
Nice video Jessica. Was this video recently shot?
Thanks! Yep some of it was lol. Obviously I didn’t do all of this in one day so this encompasses different seasons.
Hey! Love the video!! I’m curious, is it safe for Americans to visit China at the moment?
You can hardly find a safer place than China.
People in China don't really care which country you come from, They may casually ask where are you from? But that's all. They don't really care, just out of courtesy. Or curious.
It is inevitable that there will be disputes in the competition between countries. A competent government will deal with these disputes at the national level. Let the people live in happiness, peace and harmony, not in fear and hatred. So you don't have to worry that China people will hate Americans. They will very much welcome you to see for yourself whether this country is as evil as those media claimed.
It must have taken you 300 days of waiting to find a day with clear blue sky.
Hello, Jessica. I have two questions. My first question is do you cook for yourself or do you order out more on a daily basis? My second question is what are the specific hours when the Chongqing subway system are the busiest during the day? Thank you.
Both. Probably 60% take out 40% cook. It’s faster and cheaper to order takeout in China than it is to cook at home.
The subways are busiest from 7am-10am and 3pm-7pm M-F. Pretty much all day on the weekends.
Can I ask what got you to move there? Job , ? Or just a gypsy at heart which I can relate to
A little of both! Here’s the link to that video: Why I Moved to China | The FULL Story

"I want to eat." Is that a difficult phrase after 5 years?
Nope. But it wasn’t after 5 years when I said it. Also, he kinda caught me off guard by striking up a conversation in the first place.
Is it allowed to use drone in Chongqing?
No, but depending on where you fly there may be restrictions. There will usually be a sign or a security guard will tell you no drones. You won't be in trouble or anything as long as you comply. I've been told not to fly in some places that didn't have a sign, but it was always after I already got the shot lol
MY dream is to one day get shoved into a a metro train by a professional Pusher in Chongqing, Beijing and Shanghai during rush hour. 9:)
Awww that’s impossible. That’s not how the metro works in China. Dream bigger!
Do you have any experience dating any chinese men while living in china? Do you get approach by them or have you try asking chinese men out?
Nope. Chinese men in China prefer to date Chinese women and would never be interested in anyone who looks like me. Also I have no interest in dating Chinese men lol.
@12:12 - maybe your sponsor wanted you guys to look natural without the phone because this group got the tethered phone pouch for their phones ... th-cam.com/video/ElROCnJjv4Y/w-d-xo.html ( a clear day )
Oh those must be new! Thats great! We went not long after it opened in 2021.
Thanks for sharing this, I see they made the walking platform better too. It was really slippery when we were there lol
propaganda 😢
Awww, you poor thing…hope you get to travel at some point in your life.
I need to get out of the U.S.!! I already have my passport, just need a global remote job 😭🤧🤧
I need one of those jobs too! 😩
@@DualityIsAThing I've been working remotely for a while now, but it's just U.S./Canada based remote jobs. Im looking for something that I can work from anywhere in the world so that'll have to be from a global company and those positions are always filled the quickest. 😩😭
