I'm so used to taking a train, or bike, or just walking, I feel trapped with the need for a car in the US. Everything is so far apart as a result it's hard to just whimsically get up and go somewhere.

I am 3 videos into your channel and I am hooked. Most travel videos rely on tourISMS but you actually scratch beneath the surface. I like how you told about not only the noteworthy attractions but also the local news and you experience as a POC in your travels. I am Native American and I am appreciative of your role in trying to make American's look better than the stereotypes about America. Our peeps have been at war with Capitalist Imperialism since the colonies and it cool you have native roots. Your mind amazed me actually. I would like a video to learn more about Chinese television and media. I watch all these videos and I don't see a lot of big screens everywhere like in the states.

Good points Jessica! So right about how even some American travelers look at Black travelers differently. NY woman asked me if I went to Israel for work. I told her No, my husband and we’re on vacation. I wanted to hashtag her with #blackpeopletraveltoo
I took a group of friends to Paris in April. Before leaving I had a sit down with them. I told them a) don’t speak loudly. Parisians already think we are very loud. b) if you want to complain about something, wait until you get back to your room. Just because you don’t speak French doesn’t mean they don’t speak English and they understand more than you think c) as we enter a store be sure to greet the people at the door in French.
There were other things that I told them but those stick out.
Also, my sister and I just came back from Rome. B4 going I booked train tickets for us to go to Florence. When I received the tickets, I sent a copy so that she would have one in the event something happened to my phone. The date on the ticket was 7/11/2023. She called me up and said, “You got the tickets for the wrong date. You got them for July”. I told her, “no, in Europe the day is listed first then the month”.
Americans really think we are the center of the universe. I see that so much when my husband and I travel. However, other countries may hate to see Americans coming, but they do love it when we spend our money in their country to help their economies 😉

I am born and raise in China, lucky enough I went to MSU for college and graduted in 2016.
the very first thing I noticed when I got back to China is the food differeneces.
most of American foods will easily leads you into overeating issues, because most of affordable foods in the US contains loads sugar,bioengeer-additives...etc
that kind of unnatural foods will easily stimulate your brain to create dopamine, the satisfaction comes quick and gone quick too...
once you fall into that trap, you will be addicted into that unhealthy lifepattern, such as become lazy, easily exhausted, even will kill your ambitions.
my personally thoughts, if you are rich... go to America, indeed heaven for rich people, you can even avoid jail after killing someone, as long as you rich AF.

Well young Queen, (The TH-cam algorithm brought me here)... As someone who considers myself a fellow citizen of the World, I'm picking up what you're laying down - both in this presentation, and your last presentation(s). I'm in my 60's, and I have visited 77 Countries, over 500 cities, and lived in 4 foreign cities for more than 2 years each, since *1969.* We currently (pre-pandemic anyway) split time between our homes in Morocco, Malaysia, and uuuhhgh, the U.S Southwest.
My _Single "Black American" Mother_ got fed up with America, and relocated her only child (me), and her to Brazil in 1969, where we lived for a few years. Then to Portugal. Then to Kenya. So I was exposed to this early on, long before it became easy to do (thanks Internet), and "fashionable". I provide this background to help illustrate my point I would like to share with you:
Although the 'hate/love the U.S.' thing generates viewer interest - I submit this stems from the Cultural/Tribal Human behavioral instinct. For the very few critical thinkers, speaking of those that can balance intellect with emotions; Ones Life (happiness and contentment) is about *Trade Off's* at the _Individual_ level. It's not about what's collectively accepted for the Tribe, it's what is best for the _person,_ and by some extension, their family.
I often suggest that - Factually Speaking - North Korea is the Best Country in the World to live!

@@DualityIsAThing Thank you for being so gracious! I'm honored.
As an "old guy", I can go on and on and on and on regarding my experiences traveling and living. But I will spare you (almost) all that and leave you with an important consideration when _Engineering one's Intentional Life:_ *Family.* My wife of almost 30 years and I began this global living "trifecta" late - about 14 years ago. Living in North Africa, SE Asia, and the States. Initially it was a dream (after the pains of acquiring and setting up homes in other Countries). Then using these locations as "bases" to travel the region. It still bizarre to me that we could fly on RyanAir from Tangier to Valencia Spain - an almost 2 hour flight) for less than $10 each way. Or from Singapore to Bali for $47.
      I digress.
All of that came to an abrupt end just around the start of the pandemic. Not because of the National lockdowns, but because both of us choose to come back to the States to care for our parents (in their 80's). Obviously, this is a choice - but depending on the age and health of ones family members, and the access to care, this scenario could topple the best laid plans. _Family is the wild card in this regard._ When one is young(er), and ones parents a still far from when they ultimately become in-need, it's difficult to plan for this. In retrospect, we should have begun this trifecta thing 25 years ago, as it is doubtful that we can get back full-time any time soon.
You may have already considered this, but I just wanted to add this if you had not. Again, all the Best to you!

Well, I have to mostly agree. I have traveled and lived overseas for a large part of my adult life. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and most Americans have no clue of what the Southside of Chicago is like, including other Black Americans. My world growing up was all Black, all the time, and all around me. Most Black Americans grow up being a minority in their schools, towns, cities etc. The Southside is huge, and Black. There is no place like it in the USA. For example, how many people can say that their High School was all Black, and the 10 to 15 other High Schools they played against in sports were also all Black? Not in Atlanta, not in New York, not in Detroit, not in Cleveland, not in St. Louis, and LA doesn’t deserve to be mentioned. There are actually very few Blacks in LA, around 10%. As an American traveler I have to deal with the stereotypes associated with being American. Some I play into like being loud, but also being friendly. Many Americans are loud, some are loud and obnoxious, but more and loud and friendly. And the Black ones can dance. I happen to be able to dance, but not all of us can.
