Good to see you're posting again and I am glad you're still in China. Hopefully, I stumbled into you in Chongqing when I move to China from England next month but will be living in Nanjing. You look happy and always stunningly in good spirits plus your smile made me smile in the process, love it!! ❤
Congratulations! And thank you for the compliment! I hope you have a smooth and lovely transition into Nanjing!
The editing was so beautiful! Thanks for sharing. One thing I learned from living abroad is to not allow people asking why to overshadow my reasoning. You did something people dream of doing and never will get the chance to do. Most won’t even get to travel abroad. So very proud of you and sending you the biggest hug.
So true! I think people always asking why, is why it took me so long to make this video. It’s always better to show than tell. Thanks so much Ebby!
Very nice put, this answer and your words resonate so much with me and the life decisions I want to make.
And yes when making the decision to move abroad there are always questions not only from friends but sometimes from family, some of them with genuine curiosity and well intended, but some of them like trying to deter or question your decisions like saying ''Here you have everything, why move?'' so again, even tho, they were not directed at me, I really appreciate and loved your words Ebby!
The Chinese seem like such friendly people
China is the future 🇨🇳💪
I've watched a tonne of videos about foreigners living and loving China. This is the only one that had some comedy. Great job!
love the video clip of that chinese taking out his aggression and frustration by doing kung fu gyration
OMG, so happy to see Ms. Celebrity posting again and congrats on going viral!😀👍The courage, discipline and wisdom it took to take a different path is truly inspiring. There's no telling how many people watching are seeking a higher quality of life who end up following your footsteps.😂❤👏🌏💪
Thank you so much!! No Ms. Celebrity though. I never want to be famous. All this attention with no money attached to it is awful. But yay…inspiring others is cool. Lol
Yes, China is the best place to live, clean, safe, cheap, cost of living, and modern infrastructure. No racism. I need to clarify that minimum racism in China as compared to the US, Uk, and other European countries. There are some extent of racism in India, South Korea, Japan, and some Asean countries.
Hi. I agree with everything except the last part.
China DOES have racism (just like every other country in the world).
But fortunately, racism in China is NOT the same as racism in the West.
Unlike the West, racism in China is NON violent, and NOT based on hate.
There are NO racial hate groups, NO racial hate crimes.
@@QQ-hp8mh Hi. No, I wasn't talking about the Chinese government.
The Chinese government is DEFINITELY NOT racist AT ALL.
In fact, if anything, the Chinese government should be applauded for their excellent efforts to root out racism in society.
What I was saying was there is racism amongst many of the average people in society.
But of course not everyone. But there are certainly those people with racist views, just like any other country.
@ChinaSongsCollection
Yes, racism exists in every country. The worst racist countries are more in the West and less in China.
China is the most advanced country in the world and very safe...you should thrive there 💌
Actually America is the most important country for humanity along with me David Givins!😊❤
Thank you for sharing your story! I look forward to your upcoming videos
Thank you so much for this video! I was beginning to despair when I looked at other people and that exclamations of cost-of-living etc. You’re so precise just so clear and so relevant. I was also despairing of having not enough cash to live in China this set my mind at ease. I taught English in Korea and France for a number of years . However I want to just retire somewhere that wasn’t Europe. The custom apartment here is just up my street financially ha ha! Thanks again.
You are a real fashionista, wearing red to the red chopstick building, you seamlessly blend in.
It's so exciting to hear this story! I was watching this with a friend and you're making her want to move to Chongqing! Some of these clips lawd hammercy.
Been watching you since the start! So glad you gone viral and hit that 1k to monitize babyy 🤑
Keep the content coming! Love from the UK 🇬🇧
Really great video, so nice to know your story :) can't wait for the next ones ^^
Ayeee!!! 🎉 Congrats! I’m so glad to hear you went viral on IG and you got your 1K subscribers! 🍾🍾🍾 I hope you made your watch hours, so you can monetize!💰 Loved seeing the whole backstory. This was my dream/plan for awhile but 1 marriage, 2 kids, and I divorce later, it doesn’t seem to still be on the table for me 🤣🤦🏽♀️ But I live vicariously thru you lol, so please continue living your best life!!!! ❤️🙌🏽
No monetization yet. ☹️ Hopefully soon!
You never know! I’ve seen single moms up and move countries and thrive right along with their kids. Thanks for you support always!
Start making your plans for 5-7 years down the line. You can make it happen, Confucius say "Journey of a thousand miles starts with one step" 💖
Thank you both! The custody situation won’t allow us to move out of the country, but I’ll def consider it once my girls are of age!
Love that you’re out there living your best life! Jealous of all the places you’ve travelled ❤
Shadonnnnnn!!! You and Bryan are a huge part of why Colombia was so great! Wouldn’t be here without you! ❤️❤️❤️
Love your content! My grandma is from Chongqing city. I hope you enjoy the food and everything in China ❤❤❤
Love hearing your story. Enjoy living your dream, and keep making dem videos 😂
Hey Jessica! Great video! I’m so happy for you to be able to reach some of your travel goals. Miss you much! Maybe we will cross paths again sometime and we can catch up and discuss our adventures. I am interested in where your next adventure will take you!
Peace
Your former client😉
You made good decision. Apartments are so expensive in the Shanghai and Beijing unless living at the edge of the cities. You won't be able to save much money there. Chongqing is still a big city with beautiful views and you can save money for traveling.
Hi Jessica,
I loved your Vlog!!🎉 You are such a light and beautiful person. Hope to see more from your journey. Also, you’re always teaching even outside of the classrooms. Looking forward to the videos and this will monetize. Also, I am thinking back on China as well. 🎉🎉❤

Hello, I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you for sharing your experience in Chongquin China.
Awesome video. New subscriber here. Been living in Mexico City, Mexico via NYC for over four years now. Thanks for sharing. 🙌🏽👌🏽✨
Thanks and welcome! It makes me so happy to see so many Americans thriving in Mexico!
very cool video! i must say the clip is lit 🔥🔥🔥 im from Beijing, but love Chongqing ❤... btw, that dude bustin' kung fu moves 😂 nice edit that one 😅
Wow, more please, tell us more, I watch everyone's China vlog expats, locals, tourists...
I moved away to France (I'm the inverse I hate hot weather and am already dying at 30° today lol) and my mother moved from Perú to the US when she was younger so my family have definitely not been ones to stay put for various reasons. It gets easier if you have help and resources but it's never truly _easy_ wherever you go especially the first tumultuous year. It's good to see you back I still hope I can visit Chongqing some day. Your videos have been nice virtual visits.
If I may ask, you said you were looking at China even from the start. What drew your attention to China of all places?
Moving to Colombia was easy! No major issues at all and no culture shock. Everyone’s experience is different at all.
What drew my attention to China in the first place? Money, I think I said that in the video lol
@@DualityIsAThing I never experienced culture shock and I'm glad cause that def gets to people. Dealing with papers and such for things that you have by default in your native country is usually what gets me. If I ever moved to Perú I know the bureaucracy there is crazy.
And hell yeah I knew the cost of living would be less there but I didn't expect the salary to be that good in comparison.
It's so nice seeing kids and people liking you. But quite sad to see that people were stressed, angry and went crazy for covid lockdown...
It’s very interesting how fast public behavior and opinions change in china.
CQ is great, biggest city in the WORLD and almost nobody knows about it ^^ I've lived there before, I miss it and the food of course! Different feeling being out there than out East, peace from Thailand.
I always say it’s the biggest city no one ever heard of lol. Tis true, biggest city in the world! I thought about moving to Thailand soooo many times but that drop in salary for teaching stopped me every time. Now you can finally go visit CQ and get some hotpot!
@@DualityIsAThing Workin In CQ and visit Thailand is best I think ^^ I might move back there to work, let's see. I miss the Dou Hua (tofu) also, love the spicy sauce that comes with that WOW! peace be with you.
Absolutely amazing,I still can’t believe how cheap your rent is can you make a video on your apartment process ?
Yep! I’m actually working on it now. There’s a video of it on here not long after I moved in, posted 3 years ago. 😊
Hi love your video. For me I’ve been to China three time and loved it so much . In fact just returned from China just three weeks ago. Now I’m really thinking of moving to China but I don’t know how wish I can get some guidance from you.
Hi! I offer consulting services to help people with their move to China. Email me TheJesstination@gmail.com ☺️
05:00, the Chinese spotted a Queen! Enjoy your time in China. 🕊
What a coincidence I found your vid today Im moving to China in like 2 weeks and I’m starting to feel extra anxious 😅
I always get that “why china?”too I always say why not I’ll have the opportunity to travel as well lool
If you dnt mind me asking what wld you advise someone moving there for the first time? would you recommend finding a foreigners in china group in social media would you any suggestions?
Congratulations! My advise is say yes to every invitation to try new things and go to places. China is full of adventure and you should take advantage of all of them!
13:50 - 14:15 had me amazed and cracking up. I’ma visit China soon and hit the same exact moves as him 😂
China is slated to surpass the US economically in about ten years. Thanks for sharing your experience and good luck in all your endeavors.
You seem like a trailblazer and I would like to meet you when I arrive in China. I am a business person and do some trading with port city, Guangdong.
The world is your oyster, so enjoy it to the max! 🙈😂😳😂🌺🌸
The way the US looks it may take even less time than that! I'd love to discuss some business ideas, feel free to email me, thejesstination@gmail.com
No need for China to surpass on economy. The Chinese government has made China a better place to live than the US.
If here in the US probably 2 to 3 thousand dollars a month compared to your apartment. Thank you for sharing your insightful stories.
Yo estoy estudiando español en Mexico. ❤ voy a viajar a China próximo septiembre.❤
@@DualityIsAThing yo lucí en Shanghai y Beijing hace 20 años. Yo tongo uña apartamento en Hainan en frente de el mar. En el pasado yo vivía ahí por dis meses cada año.
Good luck.
Just curious, how far is Huaguoyuan, Guiyang from you? I just came across a video of someone walking through that city. All the dense buildings there are amazing to see.
How is the ESL market in Colombia currently and how can I get into teaching there? I am currently an ESL teacher in Thailand and want a new location to explore. I was considering China, but as a young black man it seems a bit overwhelming! You are very brave!
Hi! Here’s a link to get more information about teaching in Colombia. bit.ly/2Rbmb7K I don’t know what teaching there is like currently.
Amazing story.
I think you should invest in some good microphone. It will add a lot in your audio quality.
Thanks! I've gone through several microphones... I finally got one that I think works well but those videos wont be out for a while lol
See you later. Have fun.
Enjoyed your content and I am a subscriber. Where is the best place learn mandarin? I would like to come and live and learn the language. Please recommend.
Thanks for subbing! The best place to learn is Omeida in Yangshuo, China. Here’s the link bit.ly/2TL3HPD
I definitely want to visit China. Unfortunately, I don't have the money
I have been doing research about teaching in China for a few months now and you are
the first realistic vlogger that I have found. I appreciate your transparency. Thank you!
😃 Thank you so much! I think you'll find a lot of helpful videos on my channel. Happy researching!
gggggirllllllllll! I love your content! You look so great on camera. Nice editing.
you dressed up like a superstar 😄
China very safe for woman living there
14:04 LOLOLOLOL, man is ready for Jon Jones hahahaha
I'm from Chongqing and lived in US and Spain. Also learned some Spanish. I also hated it here when I moved back here in 2012. At that time CQ was so grey, so dark, the city didn't look nice. People were also 99.999% local, with many recently moved to urban areas. Many were rude, spitting on the floor, smoking everywhere. I think it started to change after Covid. It became a city with huge tourist attraction. The city starts to become more beautiful. In 2012, there were very limited western food, mostly only fast food chains. But now, there are so many restaurants with international food. Many people from other provinces start to work and live here.
Chongqing is still very much dark and grey most of the year and a lot of people are still the same as they were in 2012 lol. The spitting is awful. That’s why I said it still operates much like a village.
The growth it’s had over the past 10 years is amazing though. Maybe that percentage is 88% local now lol.
I’m SO glad you were able to explore living abroad! It’s very rare for 重庆人!I hope you feel proud about that!
i want you to come in RWANDA.....i love you can't wait to have you as my Guest
My question is, if there is an age restriction? No one over 40 or 50 etcera
Wowowww... the crush is real 😍
I'm just about to move to hangzhou! Super excited. Maybeeee we'll cross paths? :P
And Cost of living theres mind blowing
Thus why when people spout GDP per Capita as the definitive measurement for wealth, I laugh.
It isn't how much you can earn that defines your wealth or quality of life.
But what you can buy with your money counts.
A better measurement is Purchasing power parity and China has over taken USA since 2015.
Your apartment is wow. Maybe you can come decorate my apartment 😊
What is the relevance of the COVID piece embedded in this video?
A small visual representation of my experience living here through COVID.
I know maybe fl trade
This woman has model material glamour. You are really pretty. Coming from a Korean.
smart move
Hello, Jessica. How are you? I have a question. What are the minimum requirements that a foreigner (I'm American) must have in order to find work in China, and to live there on a work visa? Also, do you know when you'll be eligible to apply for citizenship? Thank you.
Hi! The requirements I had to follow in 2017 may be quite different now so it's best to check with the US/Chinese embassy website(s). I have no desire to apply for citizenship so I have no idea lol.
@@zhaoyun3153China isn’t the immigration country, no way to apply for citizens. Only apply for “Green Card “
I'm so into china if anyone want to take me their nd make me a maid I will agree happily. Every Indian here can relate who are living in small town or village.
Let's make new friends girl

I also love Chongqing malls
love u r own people n country - don't make china become another usa - it's evil

colonialism/globalism doesn't work - one usa on earth is one too many
I'm tripping on the whole State Department's stand against Americans visiting China. Can I as an American head over without fear of being detained for some crap reason when really, it's because America and China are going through political turmoil?
Well…it depends. Can you go visit American cities without fear of being robbed or shot? Have you ever seen what the process is like for Chinese or Middle Eastern citizens to get visas to visit the US? The hassle they have to go through at customs? Nightmare. Many countries have advisories against visiting the US for the exact same reason.
I’ve never been detained arbitrarily in China but it could happen. I’ve never been shot in the US, but it could happen. Fear is a wasted emotion that I don’t subscribe to. If you want to visit China, go! Just do your research on what you cannot do.
Unless you work for a American government agency I don’t think there are any worries about getting detain, unless you break the law of course. American that get detain in China for obscure offences usually have some connection to the US government entity and are under suspicion of espionage, China don’t go around detaining people just because they’re foreigners.
Unless you spread the "American" standards of democracy and freedom in public and disrupt the social order in China, ordinary and normal people have no reasons to be detained.
@@DualityIsAThing Thanks, I was just wondering if you knew or heard about any Americans who have visited lately and been detained.
le si wu du!
Wait what did I see at mark 7:35 ? Is that a man with a mask on his chin, smoking a cigarette while swabbing someone for covid?😩
7:35 😭☠️
😂 Work really hard for 1 or 2 months to have 2 weeks off...oh no that's too much.
No need to ever need a colonoscopy if moving to Shanghai. The Chinese govt has their head so far up your tail they can identify any polops you may have. Remember Michael Jacksons song,
"Somebody watching me". I can attest they will watch everything you say, do, surf, or go. It's the creepiest feeling you'll ever experience!
I totally agree it takes some time to get used to everything here in China! I'm going on month 8 and finally doing everyday things doesn't feel so overwhelming and I feel I can finally enjoy China now lol! Loved hearing your story! Loved seeing bits of CQ in the background!
So glad you’re starting to feel comfy!!!! Now the magic happens!
Same! It took a while to adjust but now things are just super regular for me. Nothing surprises me anymore lol 😂
