Hi, I'm Alison. I want to share my love for cozy stationery, art, and home interiors (often mixed with health and wellness topics) on this small corner of the internet. I’m passionate about trying new things, learning new skills, and making things as a way to relax and recover when I’m feeling burnt out.
Why little coco? Coconut ("little coco") is my sweet rescue dog who was brought to us from the Dominican Republic. I couldn't imagine life without him ❤️

🖋️📔🎨 stationery chat: traveler’s notebook updates, inkvent, Scriptus, and Paul Rubens watercolor
Hi friends!
Welcome to what will likely be my final video of this year. As we head to the end of the calendar year, I wanted to meet you this week with a casual stationery catch-up chat. I’ll share some #travelersnotebook updates, an inkvent that I’ve been participating in, my Scriptus 2024 experience (including sharing my gorgeous new Pilot Decimo in the Metallic Pink colourway). Finally, we’ll explore a new watercolor set that Paul Rubens generously gifted to me. 🎨
---
I wanted to take a few minutes to thank everyone who has taken the time to watch and comment on my videos throughout this year. Your kind words and thoughtful conversation have motivated me to continue making videos. I look forward to returning in January with more videos around planners, journals, fountain pens, stationery, and mental health topics (especially related with anxiety, adhd, and maintaining a self-care practice).
I also want to acknowledge that this time of the year isn’t always festive and joyous for everyone. Whether you’re celebrating something for the holidays or trying to get through these next few weeks, I hope you have an opportunity to slow down, be gentle with yourself and do at least one nice thing for yourself.
Also, if you have any feedback or requests for future videos, please let me know! Thanks for being here; I appreciate you! 💗

I'll also be flipping through my planers to show you where I'm at with each of them. This has been a helpful e...

This was so much fun to watch!!! Congrats on your first livestream!
I missed your live-- just am re-watching it now. From Toronto - now watching in California.
Ooh! Welcome! Thank you so much for catching the replay from (I imagine sunny? ☀️) California!
So excited to catch this on the replay while I was doing some journaling and sewing. It was fun to see what you all had been up to. Loving the idea of the purple inks. I am also thinking about getting Kobe Hydrangea and Watermen's Tender purple. I need to make a sample/bottle swatch listing for this year. It's spread across a couple of random pages. I would love to join another live session for meal planning, anything!
Thank you so much for checking out the replay!!! 😍 That’s so nice that you were able to get some journalling and sewing down (sewing continues to be an aspirational hobby I want to learn so badly, but haven’t been able to focus my attention on 😅). I actually have a sample of watermen’s tender purple, but I forgot to swatch it! It’s been recommended a few times, so I’m going to add it to the lineup. I’m also interested in Kobe Hydrangea! I’m definitely going to do more streams, so I would love to see you at a future one (as long as it works with your schedule!).
I have the drowsy blue, the dark one, and I paired it with Colorverse Rainy Day. I think the combo is fantastic.
I have yet to try Colorverse as an ink brand, but I hope to, soon. They have so many pretty inks and Rainy Day looks gorgeous!
This was so relaxing to watch along as I moved into my Hobonichi A6 this afternoon! I’m pretty sure I had those biscuits in Japan as well 😄. Thank you for making the replay available for those of us who couldn’t make the original time. I hope to join you for a future stream 💛. I was also interested to hear about your experience with Platinum Carbon Black as I had the same struggles with it in my Pilot Vanishing Point. I might try a soft nib before I give up on the ink.
Thank you for this feedback - I was hoping it would be relaxing experience. 🥹 I’m happy you’re here now, and it would be wonderful to catch you in a future steam, as long as it works with your schedule! So far, I’m having much better luck with PCB in my platinum 3776 - possibly because of the slip and seal pen cap? I’ve heard so many say they haven’t experienced issues with PCB in the pilot VP, and I’ve heard even more positive things with using De Atramentis Document black with the VP. I’m tempted to try it, but I do also have a large bottle of permanent black ink already… 😅😬
@ Hearing so many people happily use their PCB ink in a matte black VP was exactly why it surprised and disappointed me when it didn’t work for me. The dryness meant that even if I paused for 10secs to think about what to write next would cause another hard start. I had wondered if my VP was faulty but it’s behaving much better with the ink cartridge that came in the box. Thank you for the ideas to try different combos! By the way, I’m @helenaliu commenting from my new channel 🙂. Looking forward to seeing your next video!
@ Helena! Congratulations on launching your channel! I just subscribed! 😍 The cartridge vs converter thing is so interesting! I don’t understand how that could help, but I’m glad it seemed to for both of us!
@ You’re so sweet, thank you so much for your support! 💛
Hi! I’m new to your channel. Thank you for such a great review on these two pouches. Would you happen to know if the pen wallet fits a regular Hobonichi weeks? Just by sliding it inside by chance? Thank you.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately, the Hobonichi Weeks won’t fit in the own wallet. That would be amazing if it could, though!
@ Ah! Bummer!! Thank you for letting me know. ❤️
Ahhh I’m so sad to have missed this. I was so jet lagged I fell asleep at 12:30pm and just woke up at midnight. 🙈🙈
Aww, it sounds like you needed to catch up on sleep. Jet lag is rough. I’m planning to do more, so maybe I’ll catch you at a future one! ☺️
You’re an angel!! This video was so helpful, I 100% hear you on getting distracted when you have a planner for absolutely everything. Really easy to let yourself go onto something else. Can’t wait to do this 2025 💗
Lilian’s Super Stuffed Miso Soup: SOUP BASE: - Miso paste - Finely-grated ginger (the smaller the better, so use a microplane or - my favourite - a ceramic grater plate) - Onion, thinly sliced - Water, chicken stock, or vegetable stock - Dashi (add lots of umami flavour, but not everyone has access to this so don’t worry about it!) OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: (All optional; go with what you have on hand or appeals to you!) - Extra-firm tofu, cut into squares - Salmon or trout (cubed with skin-on so it doesn’t flake and fall apart in the soup; just don’t forget to descale it at home or have it descaled for you!) - Seafood fish balls (same found in hot pot) - Daikon (sliced) - Napa cabbage (the long/tall and narrow variety holds up much better in soups!) - Mushrooms (shitake, enoki, and king mushrooms) - Peas - Corn - Carrots - Bok choy (sliced) - Green onions - Seaweed (hard and/or soft, depending on your preference) - Kim chi (if you want some extra spice and flavour) This is a super malleable, one-pot recipe. Even if you only choose 2-3 ingredients from the optional list, it will be way more hearty and healthy than what you get at any restaurant! You can also cook rice separately, and add it to your bowl of miso soup. Hope everyone enjoys customizing and playing with this recipe! (: Let me know if you have any questions! (I was trying to keep the recipe simple, but I'm more than happy to go into details)
Thank you so much for sharing!!! I can’t wait to try it! 😍🍲
Lilian, I’m thinking about creating an open access document that holds our recipes. Would you be open to me including yours, with credit? :)
@@LittleCocoStudio OUH that's so fun! Definitely a big yes from me!☺
Thank-you Lilian
Could you pls let me know what brand is the green weekly planner?
It’s the Weekly Supplement that Hobonichi makes. It’s slightly smaller than their A6 techo and it’s very affordable. I love it!
My gf & I went to all except the one at the Narita airport. She got a passport notebook, some inserts, and stickers. We even went to Itoya & Loft to get stationery too. We can't wait to go back to see the items at the Starbucks Reserve. We went to the one in Ginza, but they didn't have any Traveler's merch.
Ooh! What passport notebook colour did your gf get? 😍 It sounds like you hit a lot of great spots! And you already have something to look forward to for your next visit!
This is great and appreciate you sharing your planner. I'm still setting up mine for 2025 (using a different planner) and your formats are helpful
Thank you so much! Honesty, I’m still setting up aspects of my 2025 planner… even now! 😂 I’m trying to remind myself that it’s okay if it’s a slow, adaptive process 😬😅
Absolutely stunning! am thinking of this colour for my bedroom on the wall behind the bed, you did a great job!
Thank you so much! My partner was very skeptical about going so dark in hallway, but he loves it. It’s been more than a year since we painted it and have had zero issues with it. It’s such a great colour and paint brand!
That's a great idea re: the social contact tracking! Will use it.😊
Yay! I hope you find to helpful! It’s amazing how much I would forget if I didn’t document it. 😅
I love your whole thought process and I can relate to this. I have a separate Weeks for 2025 for health/wellness and this video was helpful!
Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear that you found this helpful for your health and wellness weeks! Wishing you all the best for 2025! ☺️
i’m new here - also a tn and watercolor lover 🥰 i’d like to recommend a couple tips i learned from my watercolor instructor - don’t leave brushes resting in the water because the brush handles can soak it up and it can cause damage. (also from a cold location that if they’re traveling it can freeze and crack!) also, with dry pans, give them a little mist of water a few minutes before starting to soften them up to be gentler on the brushes 🫶🏻💕 thank you for a lovely and relaxing video!
Thank you so much for these tips! 😍 You’re so right about the brush - that’s probably how some of the wood from my brush cracked off. I have a wet palette that I was using for gouache, but I never thought to keep my dry pan wet, so I’m going to try the mist of water as well! 🎨
I'm bias when it comes to content creators. I favour, follow and favourite all people who are from my hometown - Toronto. 😂. I say that because I don't live in town anymore - I live in California now-- so I get excited when I come across channels/ people whom are from/ based in Toronto.
Thank you for stopping by! I actually feel similarly! I love following creators from Toronto - and watching tv shows that are clearly filmed here. Covert Affairs was really fun to watch because they kept going to Allen’s, which is where I went on my first date with my partner. They didn’t even change the name of the bar for the show! 😍
Hi can I just ask where you got your cover from, it’s beautiful 😊
Thank you so much! If you’re referring to the fabric one, it’s called Laurent Garigue: Twinkle Tweed from Hobonichi! If it’s another one you’re thinking about, let me know and I’ll pass along any additional details I can. :)
@ thank you it was the fabric one I really liked. 😊
This was a lot of fun and interesting.!! It seems that you were very thoughtful about your purchases-looks like it was hard to decide-I know I would definitely have to have a budget
Thank you! It was so nice to reflect on my experience while putting this together. While I tried to be as strategic and intentional as possible, a few impulse purchases definitely came home with me 😅
Thank you for sharing this! I have been planning to use my Kinbor Weeks for a Health Journal for my doctor appointments. You gave me a lot of ideas!
Thank you so much! I’m happy to hear that this gave you some ideas. I’d be curious to hear what you think about using the kinbor weeks! I’ve seen a few videos on them and they seem like great Hobonichi Weeks alternatives!
@@LittleCocoStudio I have a video about mine on my channel. I've used them for several years and I love them!
Wood love to see more vlogs and hauls from japan
Thank you!! I’ll definitely be doing a few more early next year! 🤩
Thanks for this! I’m not a planner or journaler but have a chronic disease & would like to journal and trend health for data. I really appreciate how you keep yours simplified, streamlined and functional. I don’t find I will be adorning or doing huge spreads, just looking for ways to think about tracking data daily for trends or reflections and you sharing your processes & what worked for you is so helpful. The annual dashboard is fantastic! I would love to see your new set up video.
Thank you for stopping by! I’m glad to hear you found this useful for tracking your chronic issues. Until I was struggling with symptoms on a daily basis, I couldn’t connect with any type of daily tracking system. Now, it has become indispensable. I’m excited to see how the annual dashboard works (or doesn’t 😬).
I am intrigued by your temperature blanket. What is the website you use for that?
Thank you! I used the pattern by TL Yarn Crafts! She had posted a video that explains how she did the join as you go method and a blog post that covers the project as well!
Idk if anyone asked but where did you get those silver engraved scissors on your desk!
I tried to look up the scissors, but the exact pair don't seem to be available. The product name was "Vintage Craft Shears DIY Cross-Stitch Sewing Shears Small Dresser Embroidery Scissor Tool(Bronze)" in case you want to try taking a look! I also linked (disclaimer: it's an affiliate link) a similar pair in my video's description, right under the timestamps. I hope that helps!
Thank you. Doing this color in our bedroom soon, with duck green in the living room (they open onto each other with big double door - weird Victorian flat). What is the white you used? I’m thinking Dimity.
What a lovely colour combination! I was considering repainting our kitchen cabinet duck green or studio green (or Bancha!). Currently, our ceilings are a standard primer white. 😳 I haven’t decided what to update it with, yet. I think Dimity would work nicely. Our walls were all painted in Benjamin moore’s intense white when we moved in, so that’s what you see on the walls. We’ve been slowly painting over it as we work on different spaces in our home. It’s a bit too cool for me, so I’d prefer to use a warmer neutral colour on the ceiling.
I love love love your sketches and water color painting!! It brings your sketches to life. Thank you for sharing! 😊 hope you’ll share more painting in the future. Have a blessed holiday and New Year!
Thank you so much, Gina! I really enjoyed adding watercolour to my travel insert and will definitely share more if there’s interest. Happy holidays to you as well. See you in 2025! ☺️
What a lovely video you made loved your watercolor doodles so much❤🎉
Thank you so much, Jackie! Now that I’ve started adding watercolor to my first few pages, I think I’m going to continue throughout the rest of the insert! 🤩

Man, people without kids have soooo much time 😂 I can’t imagine tracking meals out, prices, what was eaten, etc. lol.
I would love to be kept busy with kids! Unfortunately, after struggling with infertility for over 6 years, it hasn’t been my reality. There are lots of wonderful meal planning ideas on TH-cam. I hope you’re able to find inspiration that fits your situation and time constraints.

Thank you so much! Happy holidays to you and your family as well! ☺️
I just bought that same pink decimo! I love it.
Yay - matching pens! I love this little pink decimo so much! What do you have it inked with?
Love the loin of your TNs…. Is that really washi tape? Can you show us a closer look?
Yes, I used washi tape for the background! I’ll share a photo in my community tab or a closer look in my next video. I tried filming myself placing the washi tape in the same way I’d install wallpaper so it looks continuous. Unfortunately, my head was blocking the camera 😆, so I’ll try to do it again. ☺️
Amazing video! I just found out that you can customise travellers notebook like this (with pockets and stuff)! Can you please explain how to do it? Like is is appointments only or you can just go there, is it also available in Tokyo or other cities and something you wish you new before going there or when you just found out about this
Thank you! For the TSL customization, you don’t need to make an appointment, but I recommend going there as early as possible when they open to put in your customization order. You have to go there in person to access the customization service, and I believe they only ship within Japan. I think there are other customization options at the Traveler’s Factory locations. I didn’t look into them so I can’t speak confidently about what they offer service-wise. I thought I saw photos of adding letters to your covers. Alternatively, if ordering within the US is accessible to you, Baum Kuchen’s Truly Yours service offers a TN customization service that’s very similar to what TSL does. I hope that helps! ☺️
@ thank you for the answer! I am not in the us or the country it can be shipped to but I’m planing on going to japan this summer so it’s good to know 🫶
Came out beautifully, thoroughly enjoyed our visit - thank you!
Thank you so much! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the visit. 😊 Wishing you all the best as we head to the end of 2024!
The notebooks are beautiful; I’ve never seen a pattern background (referring to the blue and orange ) could you please tell us where you got them? Thank you
Thank you! The traveler’s notebook inserts are from the traveler’s company. They’re the vertical weekly inserts. I used large mt washi tape to add the patterned background. I will share a photo on my community tab and/or a closer look in my next video! ☺️
Thank you so much for your channel, your videos and your message! It’s been so nice to watch!
Thank you so much! Wishing you all the best as we wrap up 2024! ☺️
I used to track my health in the cousin, so helpful to track details and symptoms. I think the weeks works so well for that! I love how you organized your pages. I agree on that these types of pages I wouldn’t put much stickers or any at all. I think for next year I will be adding in a wellness section in my a6 techo..especially sleep since I’m pretty bad at it. Btw, I love those biscuits at this time of year too! I bought a tin of those biscuits with chocolate today. Maybe should also track my sugar intake ugh.. :)
I love the idea of using your A6 for tracking wellness. Which section do you think you’ll be using for that? Haha those biscuits are such a classic. As a kid, I would begrudgingly eat them because we always had them, but I preferred chocolate chip or gingerbread cookies with lots of icing. That tin is already gone 🫢 so now I’m thinking we night get the ones with chocolate next. 😂
Thanks for sharing, Alison! I particularly like the yearly tracker, I've just drawn one in my Weeks so that I can see a year's worth of insomnia at a glance. Your other trackers got my brain whirring with ideas but I won't go all data nerd on you if you've got a system you're happy with. 🙂
Ooh, please go data nerd on me! I would love to hear your perspective and am still flexible on my approach!
Thank you for sharing everything you brought home! You’re helping me build a mental shopping list for when I’m finally able to visit Traveler’s Factory 😂 This was a beautiful video!
Thank you so much! What are some of the things you’re adding to your mental list? Even when I look back at my footage, I see things I’d add to my future mental list. If I’m ever lucky enough to go back! 🥲
I use the Coffee Journey booklet for collecting the different coffee labels I tried.
Ah, yes! Someone else shared that as the original intention of the book. That was my mistake / I got too excited by the gorgeous cover to double check what type of insert it was! 😅
Thanks for the ideas for health and wellness journal!
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words! ☺️
About your travelers notebook; did you glue those patches on or did you iron them?
I had them sewn on by the staff at TSL, but they told me that the patcher could be glued as well! I haven’t personally tried it, but I am sure there is some fabric / leather glue that could work! As for ironing - I didn’t ask about that, so I don’t know if it’d be possible with these patches, specifically!
