  • Hi, friends!
I hope you’re doing well. In this week’s video, I’ll show you three ways that I’m using the Hobonichi Weeks - as a health and wellness tracker, a meal planner, and a home and garden planner. I’ll also do a full flip-through of each of them and reflect on what happened, what went well, what went less well, and what I learned in the last 6ish months that I’ve been using each of these books.
Are you a fan of the Hobonichi Weeks? I’d love to know how you’re using them and if you have any suggestions on how I can improve my use (especially the home and garden one!).
Also, if you have any feedback or requests for future videos, please let me know! Thanks for being here; I appreciate you! 💗

Thanks for sharing! Considering your emotions and what brings you joy is perfectly logical, not that you needed my validation. We are human, and to be human is to appreciate, and even need, beauty in our lives. This was a great, realistic, experiment and view of how to creatively use these beautiful books. My favorite use was for meal planning. Like you, meal planning is part of my routine. But it can be helpful to have an easy reference for the other people in your home. I am enjoying my first weeks this year. I called it my side quest log, intending to capture, random ideas and brain dumps just so I could have one of these. And it turned into an every day carry. It helps me to capture things quickly, especially when I don’t want to use devices in the evenings. Like you, I’ve trained my family to look at our family memory planner (it lives on the kitchen counter) for the menu. It also helps me to get ideas. I agree with you that we can usually make almost anything work for us. I tried digital planners because Covid? and made it work. My main planner is still a hyperlinked PDF that I use with my iPad and a digital pen. Paper planners bring me the most joy. But my digital planner is indispensably convenient for me because I can cut, copy, paste, search, and make it my everything planner because of all the sections. I tried to go back to paper, but couldn’t!

This is great timing, as my beautiful Falling Stars Weeks has been mostly abandoned this year. I am tempted to separate out my health and wellness and track that all in my Weeks, but I really like having everything in one spot! Trying to figure out a way to use all the journals I love, while staying on track of my appointments, work, and fitness, without making my hobby stressful, has been quite the dilemma this year. 🤪

It’s such a pretty planner!!! I love looking at the cover, and I’m pleasantly surprised that we’re half a year in, and I’m not sick of looking at it. It’s an interesting (and fun, depending on how you look at it) dilemma to determine whether to keep everyone in one spot or separate it out. I don’t think you can really go wrong with either approach. 🥰

i use my weeks as a main planner, the year at at glance is for important dates, holidays, and birthdays, the monthlys i doodle something every day (without that i literally never use them) and in the weeks i just plan my things, and the memo page is free for whatever i have going on. I started a vertical weekly insert and thats kind of my health and wellness, i track my mood and my thoughts and some healthy habits but tbh i never thought of tracking people i saw, but you are right, human interaction is also super important for our well being.
i saw another flip through (i wish i remembered who it was from) in which they had a "brain dump" sort of page related to house chores, likeeeee "i have to organize my closet" "i want to vacuum behind the furniture" "i want to clean my rug" like- eventful chores and manifest them in a paper when they are buzzing your mind, so whenever she had free time she could go in there and see what she could tackle and then you can mark whichones you have already done, somewhere in that planner hehe

I am glad to know that I’m not the only person who doesn’t use the monthlies for planning. I used to write down everyone’s birthdays at the beginning of the year, but then I’d miss them anyway bc I’d always forget to reference it. 😅 I love the idea of doodling something. I tried that in my A6 and managed to do it for one whole day. 😳 I love the idea of a brain dump for chores! Thank you for sharing! I might have to try something like that because whatever I was attempting before did not work at all. 🤪

@@LittleCocoStudio glad i can help! i actually missed aprils doodles and i found weird it was the only day missing so i filled it up with doodles in one sitting, maybe it could be a good ritual for the end of the month

I’m going into a weeks for the first time next year so found this really interesting to see different uses and how they work for you. I hope to use it as a planner/ diary/ habit tracker/ catch all …. but we will have to wait and see how it goes…. flexibility will be key I think….but as you say, the joy of a smile inducing cover will be a huge incentive. 😀

A weeks for next year - so exciting! It’s amazing how much you can fit in these books. The cute artist covers ALWAYS get me! I loved so many of them last year and I’m excited to see next year’s line up!

@@jeanrobinson6584 I’m not sure what I’ll do yet, but I’m going to try limiting myself as well. Three was way too much for me to keep up with this year, and I learned my lesson! (I hope!) 😅

I never used a weeks, mainly because the horizontal week throws me off. I guess I can draw vertical lines and change the layout, but still, I don't now If its for me. Whats funny is, I'll steel watch videos of people rocking it, like you do.

I get what you mean - I’m a vertical weekly person when it comes to planning out my tasks for the day! I need to visualize if, otherwise I will pack in more than I can realistically accomplish in a day. 😅 I can’t help but love the size for certain subjects for the Weeks, though. 🥹

Do you use a regular printer for your photos or do you by chance use one of the small pocket printers? I’m on the market for one but I’m curious about the longevity of printed pictures

    • @LittleCocoStudio

I use a regular inkjet printer with sticker paper! I’ve alternated between matte and glossy sticker paper and have been pretty happy with both. I imagine the colours would be more vibrant with a pocket printer, but I’m trying to use up my sticker paper stash first. I’m curious about the longevity of printed pictures, too. Most of the stuff I’ve printed with this printer has lasted for the last 5ish years that I’ve printed it, but I can’t speak to longer than that. I don’t have much (any) knowledge on photo printers, unfortunately, but I’ve watched reviews from Kaitlin Grey and Megan Rhiannon before, in case you haven’t already seen their videos!
