Ian - I have the same bike since May and had the same starting issue a few times - maybe four. I charged the battery the first time and did the battery disconnect when it happened again and those worked, but the last time I just TWISTED the throttle before pressing the start button the second time and it fired up. It was just a laziness and instinctive reaction in the moment. I thought it might be a sensor related to the throttle (??) That time I knew my battery was charged and my battery terminals were screwed tight. Maybe my last time was a fluke, but I will do the same next time to test that.

Wow it looks like the campgrounds down there are pretty tightly packed, but organized. If there is a pool the germans will have their towels out there first thing in the morning just an fyi

My heart sank when you had the starting issue. I trust the problem resolved itself, after removing and reconnecting the +ve battery lead? Lovely scenery down there. Looks fabulous, with super weather (as I sit here and 'enjoy' a rain-soaked Thursday in N.Ireland😢). Great campsite location too. Looking forward to watching your next episode. Take care.

Stayed in the Aminta Hotel in 2000. Opened the bedroom shutters on the first morning and was blown away by the stunning view across the Bay of Naples

Ian my friend your battery is not very well if it is showing below 12 volts a decent off charge fully charged battery should be showing at least 12.6 volts plus, Just had the same problem with my car LOL I got the click click in the middle of nowhere on my way to my holiday destination, so keep an eye on the battery voltage or it could be the charging system, fingers crossed stay safe

Autumn can be a very rewarding time to visit Southern Europe...generally quieter roads, still plenty warm enough for most Brits. Great video.

About the red light on your tacho and the flashing FI 8:24 . My 2 cents, it’s a malfunctioning exhaust valve. Very typical on a v strom 1000 once it passes the 35000 km mark. Google suzuki C46 error and you find tons of info on it. Had same problem last year and had to replavec the valve actuator. But it can be dirt to in the valve mechanism.

Everywhere you go i look for at Google maps-and mark it. So i´m always with you (kind of)😎

Great to be watching episode 10 tonight down here in Australia tonight, Ian the campsite for 16 Euro seems reasonable looks like a good setup and hopefully no motorhome doors banging shut.

My favourite place to visit in the Naples area is Cuma. It has a fascinating history bot ancient and relatively modern. I’ve camped a couple of times at Camping Internazionale Vulcano Solfatara which is an experience in itself, camping literally within spitting distance of a live volcano.

Another good to watch video. It’s so good to see a TH-cam motorcyclist enjoying the journey not just blasting across Europe on the nearest motorway. As a child I used to spend a couple of weeks every August at Sperlonga halfway between Rome and Naples. I will be looking out for its distinctive appearance if you pass down that way.
