Traktor was a breeze, then spent a week with Rekordbox, and immediately started looking for alternatives... VDJ is just what the Dr ordered...

Got my second one the other day and these are just a fantastic sounding speakers. I Run all RCF speakers Evox 8 and Jmix 15's and 12's and an 18 sub when needed.

I'm 35+ years in this game and started testing VDJ back when it was AtomixMP3 in 2000. I officially switched from Traktor DJ/Studio when the first VDJ Pro version was released. It cost me $50 to upgrade to a permanent Pro license back then! I've used every piece of DJ software out there. None of them have kept up with VDJ, especially feature-wise. I've never had to buy anything extra to play videos, karaoke, etc. It's not a computer resource hog and it works with damn near any controller on the market. Some people hate and disrespect VDJ, but I haven't seen a software that has out-performed it, yet. It has never let me down.

Been following Justin for a while and he's the reason why I purchased them. I used them for the first time Monday for a wedding. I was about 50 feet away on a raised platform and I had the receiver even higher as I placed it on top of the speaker. Perfect line of sight. I paired them with the DJi lavalier. I used a Mackie mixer with dual XLR to 1/8 to connect. It took some EQn but I think you should always EQ!! No drop outs, no feedback...I was good. I'm going to give it 2 more tries and see how it goes.

I've been using VDJ since 2005. For the working DJ, IE bars, clubs, weddings, parties blah, blah, blah there is nothing better period. It gets dismissed by new DJ's and wannabe club elitist but everybody that actually makes any money in this business knows this is the software to get. Haven't even got to doing Karaoke with it yet (Pro Tip: Don't buy the KDJ service offered in VDJ, it has a very limited selection of songs. Take that $20 and buy tracks online and keep going as you do more events. Easy money and not much work on your end, also home by 11 in most cases.

Funny you mention RCF and damaged product. My RCF 708 As 18" sub was damaged on one of the corners. Speaker works fine but yeah..

My partner got the Evox 12 and was destroyed twice!!

I use mix in key 10. I love the software. I have research 11 and I think 11 provides more options. Especially with the ability to separate in crates.

Duratech speaker coating is the real shit. You can buy different sizes for full recoats or touch. I did three coats on some old turbosound boxes and it made them bulletproof. Same “bumpy” texture.

I've worked with these. If I buy a Column setup it will be the EVOX12. The fact that you can adjust the height of the tops is one of the most important features. They sound phenomenal, RCF quality. Again, for the right kind of event these will do fantastic. I've use them up to 150-200 and that was as far as I would take them...but for 100-125, these can be used. Raise the tops as high as you can, do a sound check and calibration of your system and you're good for the Dance floor. No Crazy bass, but sounds good. raising them high will help the sound carry/throw easier without blasting people in the face. There's a local guy doing a rooftop party with FOUR of these, the sound is Great. I've been on the fence with these, i do a mix of events, for my current weddings they would be perfect, but I have other events where my 15" point source and subs are needed, and for smaller events sometimes I either take one sub, or just the tops depending on the event, and right now I need the flexibility. I would pickup a set of Evox 12 to add to the arsenal, but I would not use it as a replacement.

I was a Serato user all the way from the scrtch live days...tried VDJ because of the video engine since Seratos was trash and never looked back. Its cutting edge technology is always years ahead of the cheap imitations the other software comes out with and charge for it. VDJ free updates for life!

get RCF SUB 15-AX / 18-AX paired with the proper tops and forget all these column toys :)
