You know I like the fact that they're rechargeable to come with a bag simple to set up simple to pick up those are the things that we're looking for as mobile DJs
side tip: buy the one with the CASE. I made the mistake of just buying the 4 pack in the bag .... 1 of the lights came damaged in transit, so I only have 3
Can the tubes be mounted on a truss or hang off stands. Do they have a hanging bracket option. Can they be mounted to a gravity stand for extra height. Great video, Thanks.
I don’t know, Dude. I’ve seen these lights in action & they just don’t do it for me. I get the elegant look & the aesthetics but, they just come off like carnival lights to me. Maybe I need the stop hanging out at carnivals too much 😅. Also, they look cool but not bright enough for me. They just don’t look like serious DJ lighting to me (my opinion). We are sacrificing Gobos and Washes for flashing tubes. I may eventually end them with these tubes just to look cool like you & Rick 😊
Maybe it comes down to having a few different looks. To the audience, looking at your setup, it looks dope af. They are not as bright as washes, but I think that's with almost anything right? Get something/loose something. Thanks for the input bro!
Did you put on the other base caps to increase/reduce sensitivity on sound mode? Experiment with that. It does make a pretty significant difference. Adults are the ones who have tried grabbing them. Dumbasses, but easy to keep them in line. These don't throw light far. People keep thinking they do. They don't, but they look excellent and they are a lot cheaper than alternatives and they will bounce light off of surfaces well. Beyond that? They pack up into a bag (skip the road case) about the same size as a tripod. My system for up to 200 people fits in a freaking Malibu. With a rock n roller cart. No joke. I'm using them tonight. Be careful with the bases. The metal isn't very strong, so if they're cold and you fold them too hard they will snap. They're cheap, so buy extras (I have more coming).
I cut all this out. I was planning to talk about it on the stream. I did replace the caps for sound mode Yep, they don’t have a big throw, not as much as a wash light set. They look cool by the booth
@@AaronStrawn Agreed dude. I don't know about you, I've had a lot of clients say they actually prefer to have less light on the floor and love the accent lighting at the booth. Stupid fast to set up. I typically do 6 (with 2 backups just in case). Two behind me elevated and 4 on the floor (outside and inside the speakers). I freaking love these things. Using mounts at the top/bottom lets you hang them, which is rad.
What’s nice is worst case they will stand without the tripod just fine. I’d move those to the back so someone doesn’t knock it over though. Yes they’re aluminum so pretty easy to break.
I'm have been back and forward with my decision to purchase these. My question to you is, do you have any concern about purchasing the 4 pack with the bag? Do you really feel that bag will protect them? I only want the 8 pack for the case.
I'm not a hard case guy. They're heavy and take up more room. The bag has been great. Taken these out for several gigs. The tubes get their own padded slip cover as well.
I bought Godox a couple years ago and like them but battery life is about two hours and I have to wire DMX in so I stopped using them. I think the sound active mode on those look terrible, too reactive.
@@AaronStrawnok after playing with mine for awhile the sound active mode is one of the better I’ve seen. You can adjust sensitivity, 4 modes, and even color. Far from perfect and it gets weird as the volume goes down it gets more sensitive but if you use sound active it’s pretty good. I still plan to DMX though
Ape sticks are smaller and have musik mode, all things I like. If you want them to stand up, you gotta buy those separate and they don't go as high as these. Both are cool- but I think I'll be taking these with me more
Duuude you got to buy movers and proper washes! Those tubes are eye Candi, they are not meant to light up your dancefloor. I don’t know how you get away with charging premium rates with such basic kit :)
lol, me too! It was supposed to be tucked under the jacket and saw it snuck out after I shot the whole damn thing. I also didn’t like how it sounded. Back to the boom mic!
its soon going to be like up lighting that is as common as owning a smart phone. I think the tubes are like electric vehicles, pretty soon everyone and their brother will have them as well.
I have 16 of these units and I absolutely love them. They definitely add another layer of coolness to an event.
I cut it out, but the mounts that raise them higher are cool too
Do you still need uplighting around the other walls? Or do you just keep these around the DJ booth?
they are soo cool, but people find them very very interesting i find..
had 4 gigs with them. 2 gigs people picked them up.
Haven't had that happen. I'm sure it will at some point lol
Wish I could get these in the UK! Can you tell us how good the sound active mode is?
I'm pretty happy with sound mode. It's not Ape Labs, but they also don't just blink constantly
You can, Both Lighting ships internationally.
Let's gooooo!!!
I love the pup 🐶
He wants to be famous! ❤
He's such a showboat

Same
Those look great.
I’m guess the announcement is partnership with Both? Did you checkout Rainbow Lights? Picking up my set of these from them next week.
You gotta watch till the end 😉
@@AaronStrawn I did. Couldn’t find the livestream, thought you said it was right after.
Are these same as titan tubes ?
side tip: buy the one with the CASE. I made the mistake of just buying the 4 pack in the bag .... 1 of the lights came damaged in transit, so I only have 3
If you reach out the them, I'm sure they'll take care of the one that broke for you
Mine from rainbow came in the boxes and the case was separate.

Not sure about most of these questions. You should reach out to Both Lighting USA. I know they have taller stands now that you can attach them
They look dope

How’s it feel having the lights hit your eyes all night? That and then wobbly factor are what concerns me.
I set them not so close and honestly haven't had that be an issue. I get that concern
@@AaronStrawn great to hear cause it is a cool effect
Hi Mate any chance you can ask Rick if he knows the best way to get both lighting stuff in UK it’s cool stuff 👍
Well bring this up on the stream!
Perfect thank you 👍👍

I really dig em
How are the colour tints in comparison to the Chauvet colours? Have you compared? (coz colours aren't always the same across brands)
Haven't done that comparison cause I don't have those. Colors look great to me

@@AaronStrawn I appreciate the response. But what about the safety of storage?
Is there a setting to reduce or increase the brightness? Thanks
You can use the remote to do this
Nice review! I think these will be a short-lived fad but thats just my opinion
What day and time is your life stream?
We’re working it out. I’ll post it here and Insta
I bought Godox a couple years ago and like them but battery life is about two hours and I have to wire DMX in so I stopped using them. I think the sound active mode on those look terrible, too reactive.
You can adjust how sensitive the sound mode is. Yeah anything like these that require cables is a no from me
@@AaronStrawn yeah, sound active mode doesn’t bother me. Only one I like at all is ape labs. I use soundswitch and trying Maestro now.

Killing me smalls. I get a tourpack of 8 and two tour packs of maxi 2.0 then these hit the market. Awesome. 😆
@@Nenering22 lol. Don’t worry bro, you will love those lights. I use my Maxis almost every gig
Just got 8 of these…..minute I opened the box I was like f**k, drunk groomsmen absolutely gonna turn them into light sabers.
lol, definitely a concern

Idk- they kicked ass tonight at my wedding
I just got a set of 8, and all my clients love these tubes.
Aaron don't ever use that dam lab again the audio is pissing my ocd off other than that bs great f*ckin video bro

Yeah you don’t get them, so you shouldn’t get them lol
@@AaronStrawn but I like new toys! It’s frustrating!
Rule #1: never trust Rick Web 😂
What??? He's my homie!
The only bad thing about tubes is now every dj looks the same now. It's like generic dj for hire.
Good point

7:25 how come only 2 are doing anything?
I think because I didn't turn off IR for the slaves for this event. Pointed the remote at them and they went rogue.
