    Imo it’s kinda too late unless you’re a Bose loyalist. I’m not a hype beast when it comes to getting all the latest gear but I already sold my original original S1 pros to get Everse 8s and there’s really no reason to go back now.

      It seems like EV specifically made that Everse for DJs. The S1 seems to be aimed at buskers

  • @DjCraighowarth
    @DjCraighowarth ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Missed the bucket on this one. I still think there’s more S1’s sold than everse 8 as not many folk need all the features the E8 has..but ! The S1 Chas been out about 5 years and this is a pretty poor “ upgrade”
    They should have left the S1 as is and made an S2 with bigger woofer more spl and 1 more input. That would have done for those who like the s1 but would like a bit more and given people food for thought weather need all the features of the e8.
    DJ’s have transport and buskers usually have a trolley 😂

      I agree with everything you're saying, I think they should release an S2 as well. Just like they have a Sub1 and a larger Sub2. To be fair this is just called S1 Pro "+" so we should not have expected anything crazy here. Maybe an S2+ is still coming. Regardless, makes me feel better about dropping $1.5G on a pair of EV8 lol

    Thus far I'm loving mine. Nice 3 (really 4) channels, very clean sound. I don't need to compare as it suits my needs perfectly. I'm literally just starting to learn guitar. Bought a nice Shure mic. Got the wireless mic/guitar transmitters, so everything is great wireless. They sit in the speaker nice and charge too. Very seamless to set up.

    Hey Aaron, my brother is getting married in Northern MN in about 3 weeks. I am flying out to be there and will need to bring my own ceremony/outdoor reception system, because the one they had available locally was one of those all in one Fender PA packs. I only DJ at music events and festivals, so I am pretty novice when it comes to ceremonies. My first thought was to buy two Everse 8s with flight cases, the Shure wireless mic setup, and my Denon Prime Go, but the whole thing seems a bit expensive and cumbersome. Looking at these, I think I could get by with two of these, two of the wireless transmitters, an SM58, and put it all in two carry on backpacks. Then I can put the rest of my stuff in my checked baggage. Would this be able to replace the Everse 8 and expensive wireless mic setup? Would I still need to use a mixer or the Prime Go as a mixer? Thanks!

    • @AaronStrawn
      @AaronStrawn  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would check and see if you can rent an Everse from GC or EMI Audio. They could also get you a wireless mic. Don't use those transmitters, the range is terrible and you will get drop outs. If you can't rent, go with the Everse 8. You could do the ceremony with the Prime Go too. Hope this helps!

      @@AaronStrawn Thanks! I'll see if I can find one on the way from the cities up to Crosslake. I was planning on buying a mini system I can fly with, but might be best to rent.

    It actually says "ten feet" in the wordings above, did you notice on your video haha?
    The transmitter is pretty cool, it charges via the USB plug (so you do need to add a cable, it doesn't charge on its own), cool that the receiver is buit-in the unit. One less thing to plug. I wonder if it would work with any 2.4 transmitter or if you must use the Bose transmitter.

      @@AaronStrawn it's perfect for busking. Clean set up. Convert any cheap XLR mic into a clean wireless mic and no need to power/connect any receiver. Much cheaper and cleaner than buying a separate Sure/Sennheiser system, cables, etc. I guess probably just about enough for a wedding ceremony as well, as long as you set up the speaker in the front, by the altar. For anything else, the Ev8 is a far better choice, especially if the price is the same.
