    Nope you mounted the fan completely wrong you were supposed to custom make a fan shroud and mounted the electric fan to the shroud then you mounted the shroud to the radiator

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In a lot of cases a shroud setup will work better, however there isn't always room for an effective shroud so I opted for a very high flow fan in this case to compensate. It's also fair to point out that the factory did not use a shroud in this application either.

      You might get it to run with almost any Mustang 5.0 engine harness, but you will have issues with the ancillary connections no matter what - there are no 5.0 EFI harnesses which will connect right up to your dash harness. I have a friend with a similar 4-eye that is running but he didn’t do the work and I have not looked closely at what done. Obviously it CAN be done though.

    They made a great car with the right engine. They used the windsor 302 V8. They would have been better off had the come with regular coil springs instead of air bags, but with time it is worthwhile to have that dealt with. One major draw back I saw, was the stupid electronic brake booster instead of a vacuum booster. But the thickness of the sheet metal on them and reliable engines, they were in a way you got a great car if you bought the 84 on up to the 92 year model. My most preferred, based on the tires/wheels and throttle body fuel injection with regular air cleaner are the 84-86 models

      Those features like air suspension and ABS are great when they work, and a pain in the butt when they don’t. That Teves ABS system is more or less unheard of today too, so finding parts or someone to work on it is no fun, but you can convert to a vacuum booster to keep it on the road. In spite of these things, I do like cruising in mine!

    I bought a 1990 LSC in red from a disabled guy for 2000 about a month ago It was sitting for 7 years and has a registration sticker from 2012. It didn’t run without starting fluid, the front seats are ripped and are faded by the sun (not awful but in need of a reupholster.) it needs a new fuel pump, a tuneup, all 4 tires, a thermostat, a new brake line and new calipers, rotors and pads, A really good cleaning, and it has 3 or 4 rust spots about 1 inch by 0.5 inch (repairable-no holes.) plus some faded paint and some clearcoat issues, but overall ok. Did I get a good deal on this car? Btw that’s a very clean Mkvii! Will definitely be coming back for more videos. Funny enough, my other choice was a 90-93 GT hatchback

      The rear brake calipers are basically unobtainium. The rest of that stuff can be bought from a supplier like Rockauto. There are apparently some options for switching up the rear brakes with parts from a Taurus, and of course anything is possible when you get into the aftermarket and customization. I'd say you paid more or less parts car price for it though, so I don't think you got a bad deal.

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you are saying that you took apart an 8.8 and there was no pinion shim installed, then it was almost certainly assembled wrong. It would be pure speculation as to why this mistake was made, but I have seen situations where someone used the newer pinion bearings and didn’t replace the races which were for the older style bearing, and since they don’t mesh properly it screws up the depth. I would say that your rear end will need a scratch setup including a careful measurement of the pinion depth which I did not cover in this video. The “reuse the old pinion shim” technique only works if you started with a correctly assembled gear set. There is a special pinion depth checking tool for the ford gear sets which is available.

    I bought a 1986 Mk VII in 1988. My Mom's Honda Prelude was getting ugly, though it ran great! Anyway, I gave her the Mk. Years later, sadly, it's mine again. The car now has 136,000 + plus miles. I drove it yesterday. I spent a bit of money on the air ride, as you mentioned, that's something to keep in mind. I replaced the power antenna, multiple fog light bulbs, and a couple of engine sensors over the years. This is a fantastic auto. The features for the day are amazing! It's running great! I worked at a Ford plant in Lansdale PA when these came out, and every so often, I got to take one out a number of times when needing a company car. I had bought my '84 Mustang GT brand new, so I know what you're talking about with the difference. I totally forgot the Mark VII was a Fox body. And yes, those air suspensions - great in theory, bad in practice. My parents had a Mark VIII that I remember by the mid 00's it's hugging the ground.

Additionally it looks like I have at least 10 blanks printed, and I am hoping to have time to get to them later this week because I know I am getting low. A vent pod is a part that allows you to install a gauge in an AC vent by replacing the original vent with a vent gauge pod. I make a line of them covering Mustang from 1987-2014 and 90-92 Mark VII. I also make a system that allows you to mount a Holley 3.5" touch screen anywhere you can put a 2 1/16" gauge, which pairs very nicely with the vent pods when you use a Terminator X in a Foxbody for example. @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tecmotiondyno FWIW in my understanding, the earlier versions of efi were speed density because maf sensor technology was in it's infancy. My '95, '94, '90 Fords use speed density but california (CARB) versions were for '95 used maf. I'm not sure exactly which engines or when Ford first introduced maf, but those were all sequential injection as far as I know and speed density (MAP only) were all bank fire injection. In the case of '95 maf, ignition wasn't DIS, as far as I know. Thus I'm pretty sure if the ignition is dis, this will also be sequential injection. Then we have all the different versions of ecm's, parts availability (discontinued parts?), on and on... ;)

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Pretty well all of the speed density cars were SEFI - Mustang, T-Bird, Cougar, Mark VII, Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, etc. These will go back as early as 1986 in some cases. MAF was first introduced in the Mustang in California in 1988 and nationwide in 1989. The speed density trucks and vans were mostly bank-fire. MAF equipped trucks like some 93 E-Series vans were SEFI.

      You will need a dash harness and engine harness that matches. Without looking at it, I would guess that it already has a 90 dash harness and you will have to get a 90 engine harness. 1990 is a unique setup though I personally saw a car the other day which is supposed to be a 1990 and had the late style dash connector, so there are some weird setups out there. Outside of this one questionable exception, every 1990 I have seen including my own late production 1990 coupe has the two engine to dash connectors and the airbag support. The 1995 harness is really different and probably not that easy to adapt to the 1990 dash harness. Good luck with it.

      Mine is an ST1200 and I think there is a case diameter difference, but I only really had to cut holes for the shift towers, and I might have trimmed a bit for the shifters. The input shaft seemed like a bigger issue to get right for whatever reason.

    What’s the point of the fuse and where does it go in the wiring? How often will it blow? I’m worried the initial surge of amps when the fan comes on will keep blowing it.

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno หลายเดือนก่อน

      Use a fuse that can handle the continuous draw of the fan. It can be anywhere in a relatively short power circuit like this but ideally it will be fairly close to the battery or power lug. The fuse won’t normally blow as a result of the startup amperage.

    I'mmmmmm gonna take a guess and sayyyy... HEADACHE! Unless you're the Smithsonian or Jay Leno, don't bother. This era of auto-manufacturing was a mess, especially for domestics; it was all off-the-shelf innovation with a HUGE helping of marketing which resulted in owning something which was nothing like that glossy ad in the National Geographic. Most parts for these cars are god-awful rare, mainly because for nearly 20 years as metal-prices went up the scrap was worth more than the car, even if it was in decent condition. It's actually easier to find parts and machining for vehicles mid-60s and older, basically because many of those cars didn't start to dry-rot as soon as you drove them of the lot, and they weren't a cobbled-together piece of modernity. But hey, passion and common-sense are seldom bosum buddies; I work on old Atari 5200s and fix them up... more 80s crap. So, I dig it.

    Hi @tecmotiondyno. I plan on dropping the transmission, so I will only be lifting the engine with the bell housing attached. At what points do you have the load leveler attached to the engine?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can attach it the same way I did here. If you don't want to pull the upper intake and you still have the factory lift points, you can use those, but the engine will twist as you adjust the load leveler. An example of installing an engine/transmission assembly with the factory lift points is here: th-cam.com/video/Y8w5WoQsM8c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-VmhOvYcDsHPPwq5

      @@tecmotiondyno Okay. She is stocked from the factory, so I will use the factory lift points. Are those stock headers on your engine? If so, I should be able to deinstall and install my engine like you did, right? Maybe a little easier since only the bell housing will be attached?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mustang8846 yeah, I think both these videos depict stock header cars. You won’t have to remove the stock headers to get it in or out, but if you switch to aftermarket headers you will start to get into special procedures around the headers.
