      Filming and editing this stuff is a actually a lot of work on top of the actual jobs, and this technical stuff is just not the kind of thing you can turn over to an editor because they aren’t going to have any idea which 15 minutes out of 8 hours of footage are important. Who knows though, maybe a video of me on my knees searching through 2500 fasteners for one specific one and swearing would be a hit! It sure wouldn’t tell you how to build a car though. Anyway it is nice to get some encouraging feedback like this, so thanks for that!

      With a question mark engine like this one, you can check a bunch of stuff outside the car, but you just never know what will happen when you try to actually start it.

      I think my biggest cash expense so far has been the fuel system, but that was done in a way that will support a future engine setup. This may be a really hard way to get a Mustang, but in terms of cash resources it’s probably about the least expensive.

      So much of a project like this is boring and tedious that it is hard to know how to give guys a feel for it in a format that is watchable. Do you like this format of project update?

    • @jimhilt1652
      @jimhilt1652 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! I went thru the basically the same situation. Did a 4 to 8 swap on a 93 Vert. Came to the realization that it was worth the money to put the Holley Terminator X Gen 2. All new wire system and didn’t have to worry about 30+ old wires.
      Thanks again!

    Nice solid car. I remember back in the day Florida Highway Patrol using them as pursuit vehicles. A dealer in Pennsylvania purchased a lot of them and sold them on his lot. I should have bought one.

      There are nicer cars, but this one was a real solid roller when I got it. It is slowly turning back into a car! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more on this project.

    Always amazes me that these hackers think they can build a better vehicle than the manufacture by cutting harnesses and as such.

    Just curious, will this build end up as a daily driver or something in the motorsport?

    • @tecmotiondyno
      @tecmotiondyno  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The direction this is heading is a drag and drive car. Obviously the stock powertrain isn’t going to cut it, but here’s the logic: I build it as a stocker and turn it back into a car. Proving that the stock engine and transmission are good will improve their resale value to someone with a more pedestrian project. A possible intermediate step is to build up the other engine that I got with the project into a heads/cam/intake combo for the car. Ultimately it is destined to get the Godzilla that I teased in this video, and which I have already secured. One reason I decided to do it in this order is because the “rebuild into a car” project is probably more relatable to a TH-cam audience than an expensive halo project like the Godzilla build. It’s also likely easier to get it registered and insured initially as a stocker too. The ultimate Godzilla build should still be the kind of car that I can cruise around for fun though. My current driver is a blown Coyote convertible!

      @@tecmotiondyno That's good to know. I bet a blown coyote Fox must b super wild to drive as daily 👍

      @@notchit3542 It's fun for sure. There is a little bit of it on this channel where I upgraded all the electronics to a 10.1" floating display wireless carplay system, dash cams, wireless phone charging, and a backup camera (which my 2011 did not come with). Every time I think about parting with the car, I feel like I'm not really getting an upgrade, just spending a lot of money! Believe it or not, Kevin Marti says it's a one of one car too. 🤷‍♂

      Yeah, I was pretty miserable and I lost an entire week on this project that I didn’t really have to lose, so I have been playing catch up trying to get it far enough along that I can put the shop back in a state to start running dyno again. Sure felt like dyno season today!
