United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ก.ย. 2020
Make classic cocktails you see in finer bars and restaurants with Homemade Manhattan. I will demonstrate cocktails and techniques that I use every day as a real working bartender. I also wrote a book called Homemade Manhattan and it contains more than 50 recipes, tips, and techniques it took me many years to learn, and I will upload new cocktail videos weekly. Use this cocktail channel to learn how to make a proper Manhattan, mojito, margarita, brandy sidecar, a Moscow mule, and more. I use the recipes in my book and explain everything so you can create a perfect cocktail every time.
Make a Pegu Club Cocktail
Let's make a Pegu Club Cocktail. It was created in the 1920s and named after the Pegu River in Myanmar. It remained an obscure cocktail almost lost to history, until Audrey Saunders made it popular again when she opened the Pegu Club in 2003. She is a Giant among bartenders.
Recipe:
1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) gin
3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) Grand Mariner
3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) lime juice
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Combine everything in a cocktail tin, add ice, and shake for 20 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lime twist. Cheers!

Let’s make a real Whiskey Smash
มุมมอง 3.6Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's Make a Whiskey Smash. This cocktail was popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s but was almost lost to prohibition. Then the King of Cocktails, Dale DeGroff found the recipe and made them at Manhattan's Rainbow Room in the 1990s. Recipe: 12 mint leaves 1/2 half lemon, cut into quarters 3/4 ounce (22.5ml) simple syrup 2 ounces (60 ml) bourbon Crushed Ice Crush some ice and then Muddle th...

Let’s make a Camellia Martini
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
This is my homage to the 1850 classic Martini. I lightly incorporated some bitter orange and cherry flavors because of all the oranges and cherries grown in the Sacramento area. I also named it the Camellia Martini, after the flower of Sacramento. Recipe: 2 ounces (60 ml) gin 1 ounce (30 ml) dry vermouth 2 dashes Peychaud bitters 1 bar spoon Luxardo liqueur 1 bar spoon Aperol liqueur Add everyt...
Make a White Gummy bear Shot
มุมมอง 2.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make a White Gummy Bear Shot, but give it the craft cocktail treatment. Instead of flavored vodka, let's create our own raspberry flavor with real raspberries. 4-5 raspberries 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) simple syrup 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) lemon juice 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka 1 ounce (30 ml) peach schnapps top with sparkling water Combine the raspberries, simple, and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker...
Make a Southside Cocktail
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Let’s make an easy and refreshing cocktail that uses mint. Let's make a Southside. Hugo Ensslin created this drink in 1916 as the Southside Fizz, but Speakeasys in Chicago's Southside, as well as the 21 club in Manhattan, lost the fizz and made the drink popular. Recipe: 10-12 mint leaves 2 Ounces (60 ml) gin 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) lime juice 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) simple syrup Combine everything in ...
Make a Clarified Cadillac Margarita
มุมมอง 2.9Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make a Clarified Cadillac Margarita. Originally drinks and punches were clarified to preserve them, but they also create a smooth version of any cocktail. This recipe is for 2 cocktails: 4 ounces (120 ml) Tequila blanco 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) lime juice 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) agave 1 ounce (30 ml) Grand Mariner 2 ounces (60 ml) whole milk Combine everything into a cocktail tin. Make a Mint Julep
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's Make a mint Julep. It is one of the original drinks, and a drink that was made famous from African American bartenders throughout the 19th century. It's also one of the first drinks to feature ice as one of the main ingredients. Recipe: 1 3/4 ounces (52.5 ml) bourbon 3/4 ounce (22.5 ml) Jamaican rum 1 ounce (30 ml) simple syrup. Lots of mint Add everything into a mixing glass and make sur...
Make an Old Fashioned and Learn Some History
มุมมอง 1.7Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make an Old Fashioned and learn some history. Cato Alexander was the first African American Bar Owner. He was born a slave in 1780, but opened his tavern in Manhattan as a free man in 1810. He became world renowned and was known as one of the top purveyors of Mint Juleps, Cobblers, Eggnogs, and cocktails (what we call an old fashioned). Recipe: 1 bar spoon of sugar 3 dashes of Angostura b...
Why I love the Manhattan
มุมมอง 1.6Kปีที่แล้ว
This is why I love the Manhattan. It was my first proper cocktail, and it was made by the great Murray Stenson, who also made the last word famous. It was the first time that whiskey didn't make me wince a little. In fact the flavor reminded me of sitting in front of a warm fire on a cold winter night. Recipe: 2 ounces (60 ml) rye 1 ounce (30 ml) sweet vermouth 3 dashes Angostura Bitters Combin...

Make a Clarified Whiskey Sour
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make a Clarified Whiskey Sour. Traditionally milk punches preserved everything, but using ilk to clarify a cocktail delivers a smooth alternative to an everyday drink. This recipe is for two drinks, because who wants just one clarified cocktail. 2 ounces (60 ml) whole milk 4 ounces (120 ml) bourbon 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) lemon juice 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) simple syrup Combine everything into ...
Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Old Fashioned
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make a peanut butter and jelly old fashioned. It's an amazing boozy dessert riff on an old fashioned. And it uses peanut butter fat washed bourbon (from an earlier video). 1 bar spoon sugar 1 bar spoon jelly or jam 4 dashes Angostura Bitters 1 bar spoon of water 2 ounces (60 ml) peanut butter fat washed bourbon Add the sugar, jelly, bitters and water, stir briefly. Make the Best Homemade Eggnog
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Let's make the best homemade eggnog. It's still cold outside, and I still want eggnog. This is alcohol free and makes enough for the whole family. Recipe: 6 egg yolks 1 cup (240 g) sugar 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream 1 cup (240 ml) half and half 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk 1 bar spoon cinnamon 1 bar spoon vanilla extract Add fresh grated nutmeg to taste. In one bowl add the egg yolks and the sugar. ...
Something is wrong
Thank you. Tried this recipe today with Royal Challenge whiskey. Tastes good and soothing for during sore throat .
you forgot the ice
For mocktail version I just don’t use alcohol but do I need to adjust the measurements for other ingredients?
Can i do it without juice but with syrup coconut and piney
Don't build it like that First mix 1.5oz lemon juice 2 simple syrup 2oz gin, shake with crushed ice strain into a rocks glass no ice, then pour 1.5oz of blackberry liquor into the middle. It makes for such a great presentation
Looks really good. I’m headed down there this summer and I’m gonna make this to try it before 👍
Where is my mini umbrella?
I've made dozens of Old Fashioned's bartending for a catering company by starting out with bitters and simple syrup (they never have sugar) in the glass, then adding 3 fingers or so of bourbon and THEN topping it with ice and giving it a swirl, or swirling the bitters, simple syrup and bourbon together before adding the ice. Guests have been more than happy with them and I've never heard a complaint. NOW the company wants us to mix everything together in a martini glass, stir it and pour out over a glass of ice like they're doing here. That's great but when you have 500 + guests all clamoring for drinks and only one shaker on you and limited drinking ice then it's only more time consuming but also wastes ice in your shaker glass that you now have to get rid of. I think the method of making the drink should coincide with the venue and number of guests you need to serve in a given amount of time but that's me.
Most recipes use lime. The first recipe we found had lemon and it is quite refreshing. I love them both ways or with both lemon and lime. It's our favorite cocktail. Put over rocks and add seltzer for a Gin Mojito. I call it a Ginjito. Wonderful.
Too strong too soon
Miss your content! Hope you come back soon
Depends who you ask you get the different story where the bloody Mary was invented
You really need all that ice?
No stems, no rum, less sugar, more bourbon. That's a mint julep.
Phenomenal Cocktail 👏
Best recipe on TH-cam
Under poured
GREAT JOB
Kamikaze shot->sake
Nah tastes much better with actual fruit in it.
I always make mine shaken instead of blended. Mostly because I don’t have a blender or freezer, but also cause I prefer the flavour.
Make it with green tea and get even more benefits.
I am glad I found this short video. I made a Mezcal Old Fashioned a few nights ago with a recipe of Mezcal, agave nectar, bitters, and orange peel. Oh, Mylanta! SO smokey!! I did not enjoy it. I am looking for a way to significantly cut down on the Mezcal so I don't waste the $33 bottle of Banhez Joven Espadin & Barril Mezcal I purchased.
What difference does it make it you mix all the ingredients in the serving glass or not? All the ingredients will get mixed the same and will have the same exact taste. 🤓 Does the act of pouring the drink from one glass to another have some quantum tunneling effect on the drink atoms or is there some sort of whiskey fissioning process that alters the flavor?
My grandmother would give me one as a kid right before bed when I had a cold.
Chai tea makes for the best flavors
You’re a complete fraud. The dude uses half and half and he stirs it all together
I instantly thought of the dude😂😂
Nice I was 711 Gotta try Tucson Arizona 💯
Make it with basil seeds and let me kno how it turns out
Frozen White Russian is better
Cheers
Americans really don't use electric kettles
I do, every day to make my pour over coffee. 😊👍
@@tommyboy1861 nice, electric kettles are so convenient, far faster than the regular kind
Don't like Rye...😢
Very nice video 📹 👍 👌 👏
Goat drink
That’s not the way the dude makes his Caucasians! You didn’t even have a carton of half and half to sniff before you put it in anyways 😂😂😂
Never ever use whiskey in Hot Toddy! It’s do more inflammation in your body. Always use Brandy and see the difference 🥃

I really need one. I wonder if it helps my body feel better?
Cream of coconut is supposed to be used not coconut cream. There's a difference..
Nope... looks way too watered down.
I felt like a very first White Russian today, Absolut Vodka, Kahlua and fresh new cream. Mhmm, ita a very nice and simple drink, dude.
Per un buon White russian ci vuole il caffè borghetti
Do you think that the black label is worth the price point over the red label?
Dude. I thought that was a fly in your drink right at first. Looks good.
I just made this last week for the first time and really loved it. Cheers! 🥃
Good tutorial 👍🏼
If you stir it then it’s stirred. This is just another douche being pretentious because he does 1 thing differently thinking it makes him an elitist.
