Let's Make a Whiskey Smash. This cocktail was popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s but was almost lost to prohibition. Then the King of Cocktails, Dale DeGroff found the recipe and made them at Manhattan's Rainbow Room in the 1990s.
Recipe:
12 mint leaves
1/2 half lemon, cut into quarters
3/4 ounce (22.5ml) simple syrup
2 ounces (60 ml) bourbon
Crushed Ice
Crush some ice and then Muddle the 1/2 lemon and 12 mint leaves in a cocktail tin. Add everything else, ice, and shake for 20 seconds, Double strain into an old fashioned glass and fill with the crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint. Cheers!
