AccuTuned Jeep Rubicon - Vehicle Breakdown

One vehicle we've had in our fleet the longest, is a 2018 Jeep Rubicon. It's not a secret the Jeep Rubicons are well known for being extremely capable off-road, but may not be the most comfortable thing to drive. Having a JL of our own, allowed us to dial in our shock tunes and develop several different types of suspension systems that improve ride quality both on and off-road. We've put a ton ...

The fucking music needs to go
I have a problem with ride stiffness when I remove my spare tire on Fox 2.0 and 40” Nitto trail grapplers. Would the softest setting on the 2.5 help with that issue? Jeep JL.
Not necessarily. This is likely due to the rear of the Jeep now being over sprung for the new weight without tire. I would suggest keeping the 40" spare on vs swapping shocks.
Will this smooth out the ride?
Definitely. Part of the tuning process can be as simple as changing compression and rebound shims or sometimes it requires larger bleed holes in the piston.
Wheel/tire size? Offset on the wheels? Any rear lift or just the front?
Stock rear spring. Tires are 315/70R17 Wheels: 17x7.5 | 6x5.5 | 25/5.20"

A little bit of droop with some perk is good
Any plans to bring these out for a 2021+ F150?
We will be expanding the lineup and that’s a popular truck. It’s on our radar but no ETA yet on development.
I appreciate the reply. I'm Looking forward to seeing what you guys bring out for the f150.
I’d love to see you guys offer an internal bypass version of these for the Broncos to compete with the HOSS 3.0 Fox shocks! Is that something you guys would consider?
Who's saying our 2.5s can't compete with the HOSS 3.0 shocks? ;) There are a lot more features & benefits with Ride Shocks than there is with a factory shock option. Those benefits include things like: High & Low speed compression adjusters, adjustable ride height, serviceable/rebuildable by any reputable shock service business and weight range specific options with tailored valving and spring rates. Unless you want to keep the Bronco stock, Ride Shocks have way more to offer than HOSS 3.0 shocks. Internal Bypass Shocks are great for off-road performance, and we certainly have the desire to keep expanding our shock options. It will just be a matter of time before we start developing more.
Sumo springs !
After watching hours of videos looking for the answers to Bilstein Digressive or KYB Progressive. I finally found them in your video. I have a Ram sport thats 2wd and 100% street truck and, want to upgrade the ride comfort and handling. After hearing you state to let the sway bars do their designed task so the shocks can do their designed task it makes better sense. Thank you!
Awesome glad this video could help you out! It's an old one, but a good one.
thank you so much for the video. i had a question, i am running the fox 2.5 elite performance series shocks on my 22 badlands bronco. i am also running trailrax roof rack with 2 x rotopacks fuel gallons and 20 litre water gallon on the rear. front springs are stock which came with the fox and rear i am running eibach stiffer springs. No matter what i do, my car lifts on the front end while on aggressive throttle. I am not able to figure out why this is happening
We've experienced this also and it seems to be more related to the suspension geometry on the Broncos.
@@accutuneoffroad any suggestions please 🙏🙏🙏
@@chougleasif Unfortunately I am not aware of any simple solutions.
Exactly what I was looking for. Didn't know you guys were the ones who developed the N98 rear springs. Make sense cuz your website was the only one that sells them. 2" of lift with made to run with the stock weight.
What I don’t understand is why an extended coil over wouldn’t cause the same issues. If my struts are an inch longer than my stock struts and if I haha that inch more travel then the control arm will hit the coils the same way. What am I missing here?
The top hat spacers often time make the extended length of the coilover longer than a extended travel coilover. So more droop than an aftermarket coilover would provide. Then the lack of added bump spacer also causes issues. We dive in deeper to both spacer lift options here: accutuneoffroad.com/articles/spacer-lift-vs-preload-spacer-vs-coilover-preload/
These guys are awesome. Tacomaworld represent!
Ayo! Thanks
I have a 22 4Runner 4WD with less than 20k miles you could use for R+D

JK bolt on shocks ill be waiting for!!
Do you have applications for the 3rd Gen Tundra’s?
Not yet, but certainly on the list to get done!
When will you have them for jeeps?
Not sure on exact timeline, but there is a lot of interest to get those going in the near future.
Wow fantastic. They look and sound amazing. Congrats!!! I would love to compare them to my Falcon sp2 3.3 on my lifted 4xe!
Just when I thought I had figured out what shocks to put on my Bronco, another option shows up lol. My '23 2-door is getting 74Weld Portals and 39s. What do you suggest I run?
Well, we have Ride Shocks for 21+ Bronco that would be an amazing upgrade to go with those portals. rideshocks.com/product-category/vehicles/2021-ford-bronco/
Congrats Ryan, the shocks look bad ass!
Thank you!
Do they have something on offer that for exp you don't get as well in Fox factory series with DSC controller? Since neither Fox or King offers rebound adjuster on their liner or internal bypass 2.5" shocks. Why not add that and offer a feature they don't? At least the Australians seem to be able offer that in their general consumer offerings. Now since it appears you are going into direct competition with your main shock suppliers Fox and King. Will Accutune continue to offer them along side your own shocks now? Will they only be on offer in a vehicle specific application or universal as well?
We didn't feel the need to add external rebound adjustment and wanted to keep our pricing competitive. AccuTune Offroad specializes in custom tuning shocks and offering the best suspension products available. We will continue working with great companies like fox and King. Ride Shocks are currently available for specific applications, but we plan to make universal fit shocks as well, just a matter of time.
Will you have a line of these for the Ford Raptor? I have a second gen that I'm considering upgrades on. Another option other than the big 2 would be great.
No plans for Raptor shocks at this time.
@@accutuneoffroad thanks for the response
My Gladiator is waiting :)
I likey! Looking forward to some reviews on TW.
Need a tester F250? I have your tuned Fox Factory 2.5s on my F250 right now but haven't had the time to get in there for a fine tune. Overall, I'm happy with them but I'm interested in your Ride shocks. You guys do great work so I'm sure your shocks will kick a**. I like to be different than others and I know anyone that gets your shocks will turn heads.
Possibly! Super Duties are definitely a platform we want to address
@@accutuneoffroad Let me know. Ryan has my number.
Spacer lifts just move your bump and droop zones, nothing good comes from them besides binding up and failing
Put up some video and see what they can do.
We've got some great off-road action shots we will be posting on our Instagram page over the next few weeks. @rideshocks
Awesome stuff. For a custom application, would these handle the loading situation in a McPherson setup?
For the time being, these are application specific, not intended for custom builds.
Love that you guys are stepping in to make your own shocks. Only one tho, could we get custom colors? Not totally in love with the candy red haha
No custom colors yet. The red looks amazing in person
Looks awesome! Any plans for newer Chevys?
The list of applications is large, so just a matter of time to get to them all.
When will this be available for the 392 jl?
Definitely on the want list!
Need a tester Tacoma? lol 2017 Tacoma OR long Bed here😂
Thanks for the offer, but we already have 2 Tacomas we use and abuse!
This looks amazing. I definitely need to try a set for my gladiator
Nice to hear this good job 👏👍
Thank you for the support!
The masters at work!! 🙌
Awesome 🤘🏻
do you recomend this set up with kings for a daily use running 265/70r16?
For daily driver looking for the smoothest possible ride, I may consider the Fox 2.5 RR front and Fox 2.0 RR rear. It will cheaper, still high quality and offer extremely comfortable ride both on and off-road. Something like this: accutuneoffroad.com/product/05-tacoma-mid-travel-suspension-kit-stage-2-fox/
So your experiences with the newer Fox is similar to overland outfitters - very hard and harsh. seems like you needed to do ALOT to those shocks to make them "off roadable". Does FOX even test their setups? Yikes.
They tested Bronco Performance Elite Series Shocks? I'm not familiar with that video. For most, off the shelf shocks probably ride just fine. We tend to take ride quality to the next level. Its very difficult for any shock manufacture to offer specific shocks based for every vehicles weight range and driving style. This is why we custom tune and/or re-spring shocks for customers looking for the best performance.
So it seems if you do a fair amount of off roading and want to do a lift, say 2-3", it might be better to avoid the KDSS. My dealer said the same, he mentioned avoiding it because it throws off Toyota's factory set-up. Am I right or wrong?
Its just easier to work with a non-KDSS vehicle. If you plan to add aftermarket suspension and go off-road a lot, it may be something you want to avoid. Its not the end of the world if you do have it though. There are more aftermarket accessories now available that support these models.

Where you located
We are in El Cajon (San Diego, CA)
Great Video! I'm still undecided.. Can you guys test the new falcon 3.3 adjustable kit for the G6 Bronco that will fit 37's? They offer two kits however one for 35's and one for 37's and are separate part numbers.
We only offer Fox & King shocks at this time.
Trying to decide between these two shocks now for my 20’ tundra. I like that the performance elite has a little more travel. But I feel like the strength of the steel shock body on the race series is a serious advantage over the aluminum. Any reason to worry about the aluminum on the performance series? For what it’s worth, I plan on doing some jumping with the truck. Thanks in advance, love what you guys contribute to the community.
Hey thanks for the kind words! I really wouldn't be concerned with the aluminum bodies. They are plenty strong and will hold up to the abuse you throw at them. If you plan on jumping the truck, I think you have other things to be concerned about and should strengthen up. Depending on lift height and weight, we can get you dialed in when you're ready. Let us know if you have any more questions!
im so confused with this. so u cant use strut spacer to lift by 2" and upgrade the bump stop and this is bad. but okay to upgrade for $1600 suspension?
Strut spacers are not equal to upgrading to aftermarket shocks that provide lift. If you run a spacer and extended bump stops that will certainly help keep things happy, however most will not or even know how much to add.
Little late to the party but how do you feel about the durablity of the threads on the Elites vs the FR on say a full sized truck like a F150?
The threaded body? No concern at all. If done right, adjusting preload is very simple and low risk of damaging the shock.
how do you remove the body protector sleeve?
