Your mom is diggin it ! My swag is that she huffed a bowl, lol.
I was there! No i wasn't im a fooking liar. But i dated megan fox in hi school.
Well you got to cut your mum a little slack here too. When that song was played at that concert. It was already 25 years old. At that point. It wasn't exactly all over the radio. And when it was on the radio, it was usually on an album-oriented rock station. I don't think they even exist anymore😢
Legendary music 🎶
I'm definitely down with the PF love but the genre gate keeping, eh not so much. And I mean listen, my first true music love (and the soundtrack to my life tbh) is Floyd but the stuff that Beastie Boys, De LA Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick, Eminem and a personal favorite as someone in recovery $uicideboy$ is definitely very, very special and indispensable. It's just a different energy is all! And at the end of the day we can only put forward these feelings as our emotions and subjective thoughts, reality changes from person to person as it is the listener themselves that gives whoever the merit that they think that they deserve. Most of all, I think that you will see this once you're older but music is so precious a gift that eventually all of these absolutist ideas fall away, to be replaced with the overwhelming feeling that a person's love of ANY music is what is the most important thing. Like MCA said, "If you can feel what I'm feeling then it's a musical masterpiece, hear what I'm dealing well then that's cool at least."
Jeff Lynne is amazing , he wrote the happiest song ever.
Love you and your mom together :)
From across the pond...welcome to Led Zep...check out Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here..another timeless album...then early John Martyn...Solid Air..Bless the Weather.. One World.. Fairport Convention with the sumptuous voice of Sandy Denny ( you will find her on Led Zep 4...and from just over the border your way Tragically Hip...
The vocalist and the lead guitarist is David Gilmour, one of my favs,,,I was so lucky to have been a teenager iin the 70s !!! There are many epic bands to discover ....dive deep ! I saw them live 4 times too
"Best live song I have heard in my life." Yessir. Me too!
listen to the live version. As a band, they are magical.
The loss so young of Terry Kath was tragic beyond words, one of the best guitar players in the world ever!
Most of the rock bands back then put on good shows!! This is why the 70s were/still the best decade of music.
Was lucky to go to the concert in 1981 in Dortmund
Clare got the part due to an advert in the newspaper needing a singer for a song. The only direction she was given was to sing any lyrics to a song that was going to be played for her. After about three takes each time she just did basically the same thing and was paid $40 for it. Of course she went on to make a lot more than that from this song.
As with all great art, the creation of the very best comes from gifted people that have dedicated their entire lives to their craft and the message can be appreciated by many. The music from Pink Floyd is at that level we celebrate with old 1700's masters, except this is ion our time, we are blessed.
KING EDWARD 👑 I always thought KING EDWARD had something living inside he's just not human!
I’ve seen them 5 times including w/ Roger // & Delicate Sound of Thunder twice / the best concerts of my life in 70 years - your face dude 😢
I met my wife in the early 90s and she never heard of Pink floyd and she is five years older than me and she took me to this show in Indianapolis for my birthday I will always love her for this gift
There is a uncut version of this on u tube
You guys are the coolest!!! PINK FLOYD BABY!!!!
You just bare witness to the greatest band that ever was. I was around 8or 9 when brick in the wall came out. Then at 14 a m8 played me some Floyd whilst taking it made me puke really moved me and has been the soundtrack to my life ever since. I'm 52 now the fact that a 20 something year old is showing his mother Floyd is brilliant I salute you. When a Floyd fan meets a Floyd fan they instantly know 2 things 1 they probably like a t0ke and 2 they will be the best of human beings. Peace ✌️
Going by the "nodding", I'm guessing you were listening to something entirely different on the headphones. Probably the most insincere reaction I've seen yet (and considering reactiin videos are probably the most goofy thing in the history of the world).
This gives you an idea of the creative explosion that took place in the 60s and 70s. Gifted musicians created some incredible music. There are many other songs I could recommend to you, but I suggest you listen to the Deja Vu album by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Beatles created a body of work that defies belief. And the Rolling Stones made some great music themselves. Don't forget Bob Dylan, whose songs were so skillfully written that he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016. Your enthusiasm will allow you to experience this music the same way we did when it first came out. Keep up the good work.
Unlike a lot of other music, Pink Floyd just gets better and better with a better sound system. That's why when Floyd first came out a lot of people would reach for the headphones, because there were a lot of very good headphones available in the early '70's, (not like modern earbud junk,) and a comparable speaker sound system cost a fortune. There is just so much music in the subtle details of Floyd songs that you really don't want to miss. There is a 'presence', a sonic micro universe created by each Floyd song, and they put you in the middle of it, but you need good audio equipment to go there.
surprised not to see "On the Turning Away" from Pulse on here. Definitely top 1 or 2. Also "One of these days'" both Pulse and studio. 2 of the best ever.
Warnings next.
I cry right along with David's Strat.
Please never ever stop a solo or you broke a rule
I grow up listen to heavy metal and i see them live 11 orn12 time and still listen today age 64 i love it
I see them 8 or 9 time live and still listen and I love your reacten to this group
You are ao cool bud, you remind me of myself when i was young. Thats funny that I would have thought your mom would be the one showing you this sruff. That smile on face is epic man. And I think your mom is hooked too. I WAS THERE I was 22 then . Still gets me everytime. Love your video. PINK FLOYD IS SOO YOU ......❤❤❤❤
It is 11 out of 10 on the WOW factor. Hard to believe it's nearly 50 years old.
THANK YOU , I WAS EXACTLY LIKE YOU . I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU'D HAVE TO BE AN IDIOT IF YOU DID NOT LIKE PINK FLOYD. LOVE YOUR MOM TOO. ❤❤❤❤
The o g's of southern rock long before Lynyrd Skynyrd. Marshall tucker And thirty eight special.... Also Being that they were integrated, they weren't allowed to play Anywhere in the South.Remember , jim crow
The repetitive, deep-deep bass is hypnotizing! You Want it to keep going even after the song is over. It just builds and builds, it conditions the listener, takes you deeper and deeper into the guitar, into your thoughts. It provides a dark background to David's soaring, soul-piercing solos.
360p ? Really?
YOU HAVE GOT to listen to "Lazy" by Deep Purple from the Machine Head album
Pink Floyd was one of the most creative bands in history and their sound is unique. The talent level of the members of this band was off the charts. This is real music performed at a level that will never happen again. They combined their incredible music with spectacular theatrical and lighting effects that made it a unique experience for the audience. The people were mesmerized. They were one of the best live bands you can ever see. It was not just a concert..it was a sensory experience. This particular album (the dark side of the moon) is iconic. every song leads into the next and is one incredible experience...smoke a blunt...put on your headphones and sit back and close your eyes..it takes you to another place....lol
SKYDOG just ripping Dickey too.
My darling pickled herring, you smiled throughout the entire length of a song about war, rape and murder. It never hurts to witness a smile, I suppose. Nice to go to the Human Zoo today and see a happy person. About Keith and this song: he plays ALL the guitars on Gimme Shelter, in fact he plays nearly all the guitars on the entire record, Let It Bleed as well as Beggars Banquet. NOW…you admit to knowing little about The Stones, however, you have something called ‘rockmusicpodcast’? It should be noted that The Stones are well regarded as the very foundation of modern Rock n Roll, you know that which you have a podcast about? And, they have always been a group of five until Bill Wyman, the traitor, left and Charlie died. Of course, Mick and Keith are pivotal. Ron Wood joined in the mid 70s to fill in for chicken shit Mick Taylor who ran off squealing like a stuck pig into the night. It should be noted that Taylor has a ‘purdy mouf’. Thank you for your time.
Best live band ever and this was the best concert ever.
The 1970s was the golden age of rock music!😻❤️🔥
Really great music is not only mentally pleasing, but it reaches into your heart.😵💖
Go see the Over and Out Tour if you can.
Welcome to Paradise ❤
Great video of a Great Band, one of my favorites of all time. Love your review great to see the smile's on you faces while hearing this for the first time.
I heard this on acid at 19yrs old in 1971 the day it came out. My musical bar was set then, and holds true to this day. Great reaction. Thanks guys.
Had this experience 47 years ago nothing has changed
