Back story John Bonham passed away and the band couldn't go on without him, that is why they broke up. His son Jason surprised the band by not telling then he would be there. Also John used to wear that kind of hat that is why the chorus and Jason wore them. Robert Plant is also Jason's godfather. Anne Wilson was 62 at the time this was done. Kills me every time Jason looks upto the heavens

Your 2 first Heart reactions should be: Crazy on You 1975 and Barracuda 1977. I suggest BOTH of you should react to these 2 Heart songs and do a Two for Tuesday reacting to them both back to back.

The little smile that forms on the rap fan's face as soon as Ann starts singing tells you what you need to know. The kid knows good when he hears it.

2 things: did you notice that the camera focused on Jimmy Page during the beginning of the guitar solo? That of course was the part Jimmy composed and played in the song
2nd: did you notice the drummer, John Bonham's son Jason looking up at his dad in Heaven when Ann sang that last word Heaven in the song?

Love the enthusiasm, guys! I'm an old fogey who grew up in the '60's and '70's with this music. At one point, I was the guy who "thought" I hated rap and hiphop until a buddy of mine turned me on to the right stuff, and I was open to it. I'm no pro, but I play and write music to this day, and I'm glad to see that you guys are turning each other on to stuff that might have been out of your comfort zone...It's all music at the end of the day and there's so much good stuff to discover. Rock on!

Ann Wilson absolutely crushed this. Amazing tribute to the legendary Led Zeppelin.
The drummer is Jason Bonham, son of Zep's drummer John Bonham.

  • @karenward267
    @karenward267 ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is absolute perfection. The late great drummer, John Bonham, who died in ?1980, had a son, Jason, who you now see playing drums. He called Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and Jon Paul Jones his three uncles as they have always been there for him after his father died. Nancy and Anne Wilson, aka Heart, where the best choice to do this incredible song justice. To see classical cellist, Yo Yo Ma rocking out and tje Obamas - words just fail me.

Can you imagine getting a standing ovation from the group that wrote and performed this song!i One of them was actually wiping tears!!! By all means, check out more Heart. The singer, Ann Wilson, is fantastic and her sister, Nancy, on guitar ... that's a combo that can't be beat! Listen to Barracuda,
Magic Man and Dreamboat Annie by Heart!

  • @stevedahlberg8680

It's an absolutely wonderful tribute and one of my favorite parts is looking at the faces of John Paul jones, Robert plant, and Jimmy Page, from left to right in that order, throughout this performance. It's just priceless. Absolutely priceless.
You should absolutely do at least one or two heart reactions. They've got several big hits and wonderful songs, but I would strongly recommend hitting one of their earlier ones first, like Crazy On You, or, Magic Man.

It's frigging beautiful to see two young men enjoying music from back in my day. Music is a powerful thing that can unite people and understand perspectives from different era's. Being 60 years old I feel blessed to have found numerous individuals and groups that are popular now and far outside what my old wheelhouse listend to such as Tom Macdonald, NF, Upchurch, ACal and many others.

As someone mentioned this is the edited version for TV.The full version is up here on TH-cam...As far as Heart goes they are such a great band..They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2013..They have many great songs..Barracuda, Crazy On You, Magic Man, Straight On among many others Look for those performances in the latter part of the 70's There 80's work is great to with songs like "Alone","These Dreams", All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You" among many others.. If you never heard of Zeppelins song "Battle Of Evermore" listen to it then listen to Hearts cover..Look for it live in Seattle 2002. They also do another great cover of a Zeppelin song called Kashmir..Either way you can't go wrong with any of Hearts songs..

Enjoyed your reactions. Heart's first recorded cover of Stairway to Heaven was in 1976 at The Aquarius Club in Seattle. Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They auditioned vocalist Ann Wilson in 1970 and hired her. Her guitarist sister, Nancy, joined in 1974. When Roger was voted out of Heart, in October of 1979, that's when the Wilson sisters officially took charge of Heart.

This was fun to watch, and you should start with "Crazy on You" from Heart - their first hit to chart. Their entire first album "Dreamboat Annie" has a lot of really good songs. For me, they never matched "Crazy on You," but they're still one of my all-time faves.

It was great to see both of you react to what I consider one of the top ten live rock performances of all time. Everything about this was as close to perfection as I can imagine. And seeing the joy it brought to the original band members puts this to the very top of videos to watch. Yeah, bring your bud along on your rock journey whenever you can. Sharing great music with friends is one of the most human of experiences around, and I love seeing you enlighten another newcomer to the genre. Rock on, young lads!

1970s rock and roll can NOT be beat. SOOO much great, iconic music was created during that time. I think Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees once said that early on in his songwriting career, he was told to write music that will last across multiple generations, songs that will stand the test of time. He is SO right! Stairway to Heaven was put out in the mid-70s and people are STILL calling it one of the greatest of all time. Great reaction! Check out Barracuda by Heart from around 1977. Ann Wilson's voice is a beast!

Covers can be a risky thing but these Kennedy Centre things are really good. Check out other ones. You will not be disappointed. It’s a very personal and I imagine very daunting task to cover one of the all time songs of all time in front of maybe the best rock bands of all time. No pressure is not the way I’d describe it but an honour to play in front of these rock gods. Good news!! They liked it!! Whew!!

I saw 'Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience' in Reno, NV....within about a week of this program first airing on PBS. They were great & during a couple of the songs, I remember a large movie screen behind him on the stage...playing old home movies of Jason as a kid running around in the background....as Led Zeppelin partied in the backyard near the pool. His band sounded just like the REAL Led Zeppelin. I think I only paid $27 for the ticket. I think that included 2 free drinks.
