I’m excited for TES6 but it cannot be mistaken that Bethesda and Todd are streamlining the franchise for wider audiences way too much. I don’t know why they feel the need to get away from classes, stats, and numbers. For many RPG lovers those numbers are how we see growth. Not unlocking a new perk or getting a new weapon. I am so excited for Skywind so I can pretend I’m replaying Morrowind again
I wish I could be excited for TES6, but with the recent failures of Bethesda it seems like it's going to be a giant dud. I, of course, hope to be proven wrong though, but that seems less likely for each passing day.
Love when i click on a elder scrolls analysis video and its already liked I need more elder scrolls reviews to watch...
Morrowind stans are so annoying, 10 minutes in and its nothing but whinging
Sorry, Morrowind is just a better game, I can't do anything about that
@FromHerotoZeroYT I happen to agree but my comment isn't about either of the games, but of course you would take the opportunity to be smug and insufferable.
Not surprising that you thought I was trying to be smug and not trying to make an attempt at a joke
Daggerfall better
Looks like I need to play Daggerfall then
0:22 What elderscrolls game has a bigger map than daggerfall? Google says daggerfall is the biggest.. Great video, thank you!
Rayman 3 is a constant reminder that game developers during my childhood made games with passion. That passion is missing in a lot of games nowadays, especially ubisoft games. It's as if they're factory produced stale games with a big open world and a checklist. We have to go back.
I think part of it is the insane increase in production costs and how because of that no one wants to take any risks any more. It's sad that we won't get any follow-ups to old favorites, especially platformers like the 3D Rayman games, but the Indie scene sure is trying to bring up the slack with that. Guess we'll just have to lean on them for the time being
15:55 Wrong. There's no mechanical repercussions like getting fined or attacked for selling dwemer items. The Mage's Guild got hostile with you because you used their enchanting service with items that you stole from them (most likely the soul gem, it happens)
You're partly right. I didn't get attacked because I tried enchanting the Dwemer weapon, but I also didn't use the specific Soul Gem I stole from her. I used a different one and apparently the NPCs thinks all items of the same type are theirs if you steal something from them!
only thing wrong is either hit chance mechanic or the sound choice for example when you miss with a blade a sound like you cut the enemy plays but when you actually hit a crunchy blunt hit sound plays always
It's a swishing noise, not cutting. The sound comes from when you swing something really fast in the air
dude, i go from one video to another and this one is the exact same way where i literally am just agreeing with you the entire time granted i'm more of a sonic guy but i did like 1 when i was younger and i 100%ed it earlier this year and i have to say it gave me some grievances but i started playing 2 and it's like literally everything was like way better imo the more focused level design as well as the use of items in each stage as well as the cloud flower just existing! here i am again just repeating what you said, cheers good vid
Haha thanks, glad you're enjoying these!
finally someone that gets it i've been parroting these points for a while now and i have only just recently found a video that echoes my thoughts on the subject of sonic heroes from a gameplay perspective i was considering making a video myself about it cause i thought nobody had made an easily accessible way but you did! very cool, excited to see what you have to say next
Hey thanks! Yeah, I felt like I stood mostly alone in my thoughts on the gameplay and it was for that reason I decided to make the video!
@@FromHerotoZeroYT you leave out talking about super hard mode which is my absolutely favourite way to play through the game because i agree with your point that the game gets exponentially more fun the more difficult it gets
@moonhead9282 Right, yeah that probably has something to do with how you need to A-rank every mission to unlock it and I am not doing that no matter how much I love the game haha
@@FromHerotoZeroYT i don't hold that against you to be honest, though i did really enjoy everything but the chaotix playthrough
@moonhead9282 The Chaotix playthrough certainly is a part of the reason why haha
I think it was the shoes in bed that had the assassin after you tbh. :/
Ah man I should have thought of that
22:28 Were those chocolate coins? No wonder you wanted to be their bff... I can't blame you there~*
Yes, and they were delicious
The most overpowered gauntlets and helm are located just outside of seyda neen which you would never find until you played 200+ hours lol
Huh, really? Where and what?
@FromHerotoZeroYT apparently it was just the fists of randagalf. I thought I got a helm of oreyn there but was wrong. Llunibi, not too far from seyda neen.
Oh right, the Fists of Randagalf are pretty cool
@@joshh6922 Ilunibi also isn't near Seyda Neen, you're thinking of Gnaar Mok
Amulet Of Shadows was the first port of call!
80 points of chamelion might as well be invisibility lmao
One of the most ridiculous things that i encountered in Oblivion when first playing it is that if you complete quest line for Magic Guild first and then complete the Thiefs Guild quest line you get to steal your own magic stuff. Was very disappointed since Morrowind wouldn't allow completing quests for rival factions
Yeah, the start of Bethesdas "the player needs to be able to do everything" design philosophy. Kinda sucks, because it takes you out of the game immediately
9:16 I used to cast the second scroll right as I was about to land, then immediately jump on landing. You only get to jump twice if you do it that way, but you get to cover a lot of ground and not die, so there's that.
It's a good tip, but it feels like such a waste!
@FromHerotoZeroYT It was how my fresh, brand new character always made it somewhere he has no business being, until I finally understood how to play the game when I got older lmao. Now I just use mages guilds and interventions for most things.
The best part in the whole of Skyrim is finding out that Jiub culled the Cliff Racers to extinction and was made a Saint in one of the DLC's
Hahaha yeah, I like to think he reincarnated as the Dragonborn just to take on that other flying menace
always make alchemy one of your major skills and use the fishscale kwama cuttle potion trick to get 100 alchemy in an hour or 2 and youl never have money trouble for the rest of your playthrough. i fact youl be limited by merchant gold limits so selling the super potions to the mudcrab merchant is a must
Good tip! Though I don't think I've ever been very much in need of money in these games regardless lol
Lets hope this is the rumored remaster/remake
I was thinking the same, but for a real remake this time, not just that same old HD port!
The ps2 version has a lot of filler content and it pads the game out for no reason. The ps1 version could be arguably worse. My favorite is the Nintendo 64 version.
The PS1 version is kinda like an alternate dimension Rayman 2. Not completely different, but like one that got slightly off-course compared to this one
One little thing about the character level orbs that spawn its not entirely random. You get a level up spawn after every 5th enemy you kill (or a guaranteed spawn for killing the bigger enemies) and the type that spawns depends on what formation you are currently on. For example: When you are using Knuckles, The level up that drops will either be for Sonic or Tails. Essentially a 50/50 chance for the characters that are not in use the moment it spawns.
Yeah, you're right. I still think it's a bit weird, but at least there's actual logic to the madness
Rayman 3 HD on PC hardly has any of these issues. Seems like a playstation problem...
It's an issue with the HD port specifically, so all console versions has all these problems, or at least most of them. There was never made an HD port of Rayman 3 for PC, it only has the base game
@@FromHerotoZeroYT You're right. I thought I remembered playing Rayman 3 HD on PC a few years ago, but I just checked and it was the base game with a mod called 'Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD'. I would definitely recommend that mod though!
100% This is what's so great about PC gaming, especially for older titles!
people being way nicer because you're attractive and wearing fancy clothes was just too real
It was cool to finally experience pretty-privileges though!
Man, the LSD music trip sections were always my most favorite parts as a kid
I still find myself randomly humming the music and wondering where it's from for a couple of seconds before I remember lol
Daggerfall Unity is better
I haven't finished the video yet but I didn't think I could disagree so much with someone while loving the same game. It's not a criticism of your video, I find it good! But you seem very driven by the challenge. Hearing that the bigger worlds are your less favorites, that you find the ship way better than the observatory or that your favorite level is one of those I don't really care for is weird. You really praise the game when it gets technical. Don't get me wrong I love some challenge and the Galaxy games, while my favorites, are not the hardest thing ever. But I really loved those games for the "worldbuilding" too if it makes sense haha. And the emotions too. For that, Galaxy 1 is unmatched. I always prefer the ray surf rather than flying. I'm only at 18 minutes and can't wait to see the rest but it's funny to listen to someone talking about your favorite games and thinking "wait I disagree" all the time 😂
I think it speaks to the depth of Galaxy 2 that two people can love the game in completely different ways haha Thanks for watching!
Great Video as always! I believe RaC Size Matters is next
Thank you! And yes, that would be correct. I think I have the actual PS2 version laying around here somewhere, but if I don't find it I'm going to have to attempt to play the lacking PS4 PSP emulation :/
@@FromHerotoZeroYT Just in case though, you probably should avoid the PS2 release of Secret Agent Clank specifically, especially with how many inconistent bugs, glitches, visual fuck ups and abysmal loading times that version suffers from especially.
Still debating whether or not I'll do SAC. It's more of a spin-off than SM, and I've heard... things... about how it plays, but damn it if it also doesn't make me very curious if it's actually as bad as everyone says
As a note, there are major issues with the PS3 port of Deadlocked/Gladiator. The Holoshield Launcher actually deals a surprisingly high amount of damage to passing enemies in the PS2 version
Huh, I thought I was aware of all the major bugs in the HD release, but that one must have slipped by me when I did research. Might actually make the Shield launcher slightly more viable when paired with impact alpha mods as a way to slow down enemies or with the shock omega mod to take out creeps! Thank you!
Wait really? That was an actual change made in the HD version? Huh, did confuse me a bit that it wasn't acknowledged in the vid since I pointed out the impact+shock mod combination for that weapon but that explains it! Glad I still stick with me original PS2 release.
Right! I though back to your comment about it when I read this one! Considering the state of the HD ports it probably wasn't a change as much as it was a bug lol
Tried out A-B(-C) testing for the thumbnail this time around. If the "Teen Angst" one wins I am going to be VERY disappointed
I remember from the age of 12 to 14 this game having a complete and total chokehold on my life
because everybody knows rayman loves to climax
100%
100 strength and weapon skill in morrowind: legendary sword master 100 strength and weapon skill in oblivion: useless peasant
What the game uses to "convince" you to go to Solstheim is the quest about the air ship, from the Breton in Ald Ruhn
Oh, right, must have been so insignificant that I forgot about it lol
@@FromHerotoZeroYT I remember him because his character is extra goofy he's basically an old nerd who wants women to be attracted to him. I had to run by him all the time going into the mages guild. Fun fact his busted air ship in solstheim is still sitting there during Dragonborn
@@dorianshepard2841 Oh, right, that guy. I think I talked to him so early in the game that by the time I was ready to go to Solstheim I completely forgot about him haha
I guess I’m lame. I’d rather play oblivion than Skyrim. And I feel morrowind and oblivion are about equal footing for me.
Nah, you're not lame! I'd rather play Oblivion than Skyrim too lol
Ubisoft were not only ahead of the times but the best. You can see that so many devs took inspiration from these games including Fromsoft.
Yeah, and that makes it so much sadder to see what they have become in recent times...
@@FromHerotoZeroYT For sure! I actually wonder if Platinum games and Fromsoft poaches the older devs as you can see the influence...Ubisoft made me proud to be European but now it's all dei and esg. Even Cd Projekt red.. which makes no sense Poland is so anti EU agenda...
Aside from the gameplay, locations, music, etc., one of things that I love about Rayman 3 that I think it does better than the rest of the series is the twisted yet fantastical tone. It reminds me of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, where there's this balance of whimsy and horror, especially when it comes to characters like Begoniax (yikes), Razoff and the Knaaren.
What is the name of this song on the console version? 7:32
That is the credits music from the GBC games, and it miiight be the only original track in the game actually!
8:40 i absolutely adore the land of the livid dead's track because the track has the birds in the background of the track itself and iirc you can hear them throughout the track
Yeah, it's a surprisingly calm track considering the whole "livid dead" part
Daggerfall is more immersive imo
Oblivion's combat is like Morrowind combat but you always hit. Additionally the menu is so unusable that your inventory doesn't provide the depth it used to anymore either. Finally someone said it, I'm so tired of Morrowind getting all the hate compared to the sequels. It only got worse...
Oblivion's combat is like Morrowind's combat but you always hit. What makes Morrowind's combat better is that you're not standing around beating on one enemy for like 5 minutes lol so yeah, I never understood what people saw in Oblivion's hackfest either. I thought Oblivion menus were bad until I played Skyrim :)))
The only Elder Scrolls game i actually liked. It simply doesn't require a lot of effort to play, but at the same time isn't so simple and dumbed down that it becomes bland. It also has the least technical problems of any game in the series i played. I also really enjoyed the Main Quest and thought it was really engaging. With that said, i would have enjoyed this game more, if the leveling system wasn't so bad and nothing would adjust to your level. But still, i think this game is so much better than Skyrim in EVERY regard. Nice video by the way.
That's fair, it's not the qualities I was looking for in a sequel to Morrowind, hence the title, but I'm glad some people got enjoyment out of the game at least! I think in terms of technical problems they're all pretty bad and basically just depends on luck and how the game engine is feeling that day lol. Glad you liked the video!
Going into dungeons in morrowind felt genuinely creepy and dark whereas the later installments always felt safe and rather bland
Huh, yeah, never thought about that before. Dungeons in Morrowind felt a bit more unnatural and unpredictable I guess?
I love the creepy vibe of this game. I played TV party first so this was quite a surprise to me
Never really thought about it before, but yeah it is kinda creepy, isn't it??
@@FromHerotoZeroYT I just bought the game on Steam and I was playing the worm minigame in the dark, it was pure nightmare fuel. But the overall less-goofiness of the rabbids and the graphics do give this game a really really creepy vibe
@descentium Haha yeah, the dentist minigame was the exact thing I was thinking of
