This was the first game I stayed up all night playing when I was 8 years old, it was one of my favorites for sure. It's great to see such an in depth retrospective on it. I instantly subscribed after finding your Ratchet and Clank video, your content looks awesome!
Thanks man! It means a lot to me that you liked this video in particular, I probably spent way too long on making it and it was my first "serious" attempt (along with part 2), but I feel like it turned out pretty good :)
I relate to Dr. Robotnik more than any other Sonic character. It must be hard being the only person who is trying to do something about all those fucking furries.
I played most of SA1, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Even stuff that people seem to have a bit of problems with, like Amy and E101 to some extent, they were still enjoyable. I also said I played most of it, cuz big the cat is the reason I dropped it, it was so boring, I couldn't take it. I should go back to it sometime tho, maybe I've grown a bit more patient?
While the fishing part with Big isn't super long, if you don't particularly want to experience the final boss, I wouldn't bother. Just play the Sonic stuff again haha
My problem with SADX is despite saying its a “director’s cut” and having “DX” in the title, its a complete downgrade from the Dreamcast. They ruined the textures, made the lighting worse which made the characters either super shiny or cel shaded looking and made all the levels look like crap, added new bugs the original didnt have such as the infamous emerald coast out of bounds clip (that invisible wall you got stuck on) and theres way more stuff they did that is documented online, its honestly impressive how bad they screwed the game up in the GameCube port, but it gets worse. Every port of the game is based off eachother. The 2004 PC release is based off GameCube, the Xbox 360/PS3 port is based off PC, and the Steam version is based off the console release making it the worst version of the game with loads of glitches and horrible visuals, but fortunately fans have fixed it to look and play near identical to the original with mods, and there is a decompilation of the game in the works.
Ugh, so it's a Tales of Symphonia situation then, essentially basing the ports off of the worst version. I'm slowly realizing that I should probably have done more research into this for the video haha
@@FromHerotoZeroYTat the time of this video’s release there actually wasnt much documented on the game, all i remember was that there was the BetterSADX mod, which has now been replaced by a way better restoration mod. Theres alot of info in this video though: th-cam.com/video/SORYL5J1Heg/w-d-xo.html

Comments like this means a lot to me, thank you!
This is definitely one of the most underrated video analyses I've ever seen. I look forward to seeing the rest of your stuff! Your scripting is great.
