Great video! Girlfriends was boring to me cause I couldn’t relate to high school girls yet I did read it when I first started reading manga so I am not so Critical now. Maybe I need to do a reread. After Hours I enjoyed the first volume but clearly not enough to of continued. I may give it a go cause the night club life! Think you would be so much fun to go drinking with!!! Nameless A you sold me on it! I got recommended a while ago about that one but not sure why I didn’t pick it up. Your review made me put it in my chart just need to get paid lol 😂 we shall see. ❤

I've read the original 10 Citrus, and I'm not sure you would enjoy it unless you like angst and being frustrated lol. It was my yuri gateway, so it holds a special place in my heart. I do really want to read Citrus+ though. I heard it's just the Citrus characters with a much fluffier setting/story (which is what the first series was really missing). Read it at your own risk, but I'm pretty sure you'll like it much more than After Hours lol. A 5/10 is super generous for what sounds like a shitshow packed into three volumes!

Aww, kinda disappointing that two of the three series you read were let downs. One apparently so much so that you let one of your curses slip through unbleeped! I guess it was just so upsetting that you had to let that frustration out into the universe!🤣 At least the first volumes and the last series you read were excellent reads for you! Speaking of that last series and feeling kinda down about a lack of genuine friendships in school, you certainly aren't alone. It's hard to make deep, lasting connections at any stage of life, and I believe that genuine lasting friendships are exceedingly rare, especially when we're younger. There's so much that we don't even know about ourselves and who we really are until we get older and more experienced. You have to experience some of the ugliness of life as well as the beauty and see how those experiences shape who you are in honesty, not lieing to yourself or using deference as an escape mechanism in order to start to understand who you really are. Only then is it possible to find people who approach life with a similar philosophy and beliefs nessecary to form those healthy steel clad bonds that both support and stand the test of time. We have to truly know ourselves in order to truly give of ourselves, and no true relationship, platonic or otherwise, can exist without that. Sure there are unhealthy bonds that feel like friendship and love but they're really just parasitical relationships masquerading as the real thing. They may last but do nothing but harm to everyone involved. Of the friends I made during school(college included) I've only kept in touch with one of them. I have maybe three people in my life(excluding immediate family) that I consider to be true friends, that will be there for me and I will be there for them likewise, no matter what! That doesn't mean I didn't like those other friends or enjoy spending time with them, but we've drifted, gone our separate ways. Which brings me back to that last series you talked about. Despite no longer having a meaningful relationship with those old friends(if I ever did in some cases), there was a time when they felt like everything! From listening to what you've said about it, Nameless Asterism captures that moment of youth wonderfully! Everything's a mess, emotions and angst flying off in all directions and no one understands. But here are these people by your side going through a similar experience, and even if this one moment is the only glue that holds them together, it's the only thing they need right now! That's why I personally think an open ending is perfect! Time marches forward and people drift apart. The most important thing in the world today may be just an afterthought in the future. Life happens and has a way of moderating our expectations and wearing us down. It can beat a cynicism and degree of apathy into us. Not everyone gets a happy ending. But there can be magnificent highs as well! One magical moment in time when all they needed was each other and as long as they had that they could face anything! A beautiful snapshot of youth and no matter what happens next, that one juncture, removed from everything else that might happen, can be looked back on with fondness!

I just finished PTSD Radio! I'll try not to leave a super long essay like I did on the Alice in Borderland video, but I’m not entirely sure what to think of it, which can lead to a lot of bloat as I try to nail down and clearly articulate my thoughts.😅 I suppose I should start off by saying I did find it pretty creepy overall. However, large parts of it were disjointed which made it really hard for me to follow and get into. When I first started reading it, I assumed that all of the different stories would eventually culminate in one cohesive story, or at least be tied together in some way other than being unsettling, and towards the end of the first omnibus it did start to tie together several of the stories that we just got little snippets of earlier on. Then I opened up the second omnibus and it was right back to just random, extremely brief, what I guess I would describe as jump scares. Which absolutely does not work in written form. I think what the mangaka was going for was a bunch of really short scary scenes back to back to back sort of like flipping through the dial on a radio station, hence the name. lol It’s an interesting concept, but it didn't really work in its execution in my humble opinion. It's just so hard to care or get invested in any way when there’s no depth to dive into. With no why or how or connection either to the characters or a larger story, and with a complete lack of consequences that we get to see, most of those "stations" just failed to make any impact on me. Most of the stories didn’t really give us a satisfying conclusion. I think he was going for the whole lovecraftian, eldritch horror with an eastern twist, but he didn’t quite pull it off for large parts of the series. That being said, I felt like the few stories that he fleshed out were genuinely really creepy! I really liked the ghost story about the Samurai and the prostitute. It was short(still probably two or three times longer than most of the other stories), but it was well executed! Also the main story line of the little mountain town and their little god throughout the years I thought was one of the strongest parts of the series. I might never look at hair the same way again!😂 I wish we would have gotten more of that or had some of the other random stories tie in with that main one. I would have liked to have seen that one fleshed out more as well. I would have liked to have learned more about Ogushi-Sama and the reasons behind its actions. Unfortunately despite being a unifying factor for a lot of the stories, a large number still felt disconnected from each other. It felt like he was using it to force a bunch of incongruent pieces together into a larger collage, but when you took a step back to look at the bigger picture, some of the collage fit together, but the picture as a whole still didn’t form into a cohesive image. It just felt incomplete, and getting to my last point, there’s a very good possibility that it was! After reading about all the weird things that happened to the mangaka, his staff and peers, I saw a lot of what I had previously read in a new light! I wonder when those strange things started happening in comparison to what he was writing. I know he said he was hospitalized shortly after drawing some panels that appeared in the second omnibus, but so much of the throw away jump scare stories seem directly related to the strange things he experienced. Those little bug like creatures are creepy in their own right, but they feel downright menacing and terrifying in relation to the blood disease he came down with! Without that extra bit of information, they were utterly forgettable and a little boring to me. Also the recurring people just staring blankly, suddenly become so much more frightening if you consider them in association with the dark figure they saw staring at or through doors in their office! The true horror sections were by and far the most interesting and scary parts of the series! Several of those incidents can easily be explained by non paranormal occurrences, but some of them absolutely cannot! The fact that something seemingly did not want him to tell his story maybe goes a long way to explaining the utter lack of story and cohesion for large parts of the series. If you think about a lot of those random stories as being the mangaka’s imagination trying to parse out what happened to all of those assistants that up and quit out of nowhere never to be heard from again, then that gives them that necessary depth to make those little tidbits much more interesting and terrifying! On the flip side, it's also possible that most of that section was the mangaka using a real experience in the blood disease to write himself out of a work that he knew was incohesive, and lacking a real story to hold it together. Without that section the series doesn't work in my opinion. I know that all of that sounds like I didn't like it, but that's not really accurate. Is it one of my favorites? No definitely not. It certainly has its flaws. I think the first and the third omnibus were far more entertaining than the second, and there were parts of all three I found a bit boring. In between the fluff there was some pretty good stuff though! I apologize for the length of this comment, but hopefully I was able to provide some worthwhile and/or interesting opinions somewhere in this dissertation.🤣

Who says you can't enjoy a good vampire tale outside of the fall?! Any time the mood strikes you is a good time for a spooky story! I mean who doesn't love a good scary story late night around a campfire?! 😀 And you absolutely nailed the vibe! Hair, make up, outfit are all on point! You look incredible! Also, since I should probably discuss something that was actually mentioned in the video,😂 the artstyle for Vampeerz (the cover at least) has a real vintage feel to it to me. Like something out of the 20's or 30's maybe. Crisp and clean with sharp lines and a bold accentuation of the color pallets. Art deco I think is the specific term I'm looking for.😅 I've read a ton of horror, but suppringly few that were about vampires, at least in the traditional sense. I'm sure there were several Goosebumps books I read as a kid that involved them, but the only ones I can think of reading as an adult are Salem's Lot and the subsequent Jerusalem's Lot by Stephen King. Both are great stories, but the vampires are definitely not sexy!🤣 I do have a soft spot for the film adaptation of Interview with the Vampire though. It's an excellent movie and I feel like it paved the way for a lot of the heavier themes in modern vampire stories, as well as being one of the first to really heavily lean into the whole sexy vampire thing!🤣 I also absolutely love What we do in the Shadows! The movie is easily in my top five films of all time and the show is either one or two in my favorite shows right now depending on the mood I'm in!

Wow you look really, REALLY cool as a vampire. 😳 I read that 90% of aged skin is caused by UV, that's why I'm only going out at night now and have decided to become gothic, I dislike blood though so I've stopped short of going to my local vampire meet-up group. The sun fades manga too, so make sure to black out your windows.

I have a few of the Manga Volumes Actully and it’s pretty good! If you want more from Alice in borderland in Fanfiction I recommend the fanfic “THE CYCLE CONTINUES” Which was made on wattpad! I highly recommend it!

Oh wow! Iceland looks like it is gorgeous! That sunset or sunrise over the ocean is breathtaking! All of those waterfalls and landscapes look like something out of a dream! This video and your more recent one chronicling your trip to Japan have seriously reignited my wanderlust! If you've never been to Germany, I think that's also a country that's worth visiting! There are some really beautiful and neat places to check out over there! It's been over 20 years since I was last there, and I'm sure a lot has changed since I was in the 7th grade touring the country with my family, but many places we visited still fill my memory with a sense of wonder and majesty when I recall them. Neuschwanstein Castle, the town of Rothenburg, and Eagle's Nest are a few places that spring immediately to mind. There are also some very somber places as well, that whereas not fun at all to visit, are important places to see just as a first hand reminder of the horrors of the not too distant past that should never be forgotten lest the passage of time soften those atrocities in our collective memories and they be repeated in the future. Even though you've already covered Monster, you could use it to tie the trip in with the channel. Maybe take a few days in Prague which is supposed to be a beautiful city as well! Although, I personally am not bothered whether or not there's any link to manga at all! I just enjoy getting to see these little glimpses of these amazing places! It really is a shame that these travel related videos haven't gotten the views that many of your other videos have.😥 They are among my favorite! I hope that you're not discouraged by the lack of traction on them. I truly believe they are absolutely fantastic and I know I can't be the only one who thinks that! I really hope that you continue to make these kind of videos for your future travels! Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to share your adventures with us!

I love when a book or series or whatever is able to take a step back and indulge in a little self-referential humor like the last one in this video seems to! It's great when a story is able to acknowledge the silly or overly serious tropes that sometimes run rampant and poke some good natured fun at them! A little while ago I read The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett, which is the first book in the Discworld novels, and it, and that series as a whole, is a good natured satire of the fantasy genre as a whole. It's not often that something I'm reading will make me laugh out loud, but there was a really silly line within the first few pages that had me laughing so hard I had to put the book down for a few minutes before I was able to get myself under control!🤣 The book was also genuinely a really good fantasy book as well, which just made it all the much better! In general, I'm not the biggest fan of romance reads, but that being said, I'm not one to dismiss an entire genre of anything outright. There's good and bad, incredible and dreadful in every genre! It's good to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while. You never know what treasures you'll find hiding in the places you never look! I doubt that I'll buy any of these, but if I can find a digital copy of Lullaby of Dawn through Hoopla or Libby I might give it a go. It sounds like it has a pretty interesting plot at the forefront of the story, which at the end of the day is the most important thing to me.

I also love romances where one isn't interested! I mean, they're more fun to read where one character has to win over the other's heart right? I'm excited to see what yuri manga you read and your thoughts on the one I recommended to you!

I ADORED Pink Heart Jam! I only started collecting manga around March so my collection is small, but I got a bunch for my birthday and Lullaby of the Dawn is one of them! 😊 I also have read All You Want, Whenever You Want, but the cover is too explicit for me to get a physical copy at this point. I have to move soon and my conservative parents are insistent they help me move and unpack, and they have noooooo idea about the newest obsession of mine. 😂

I also picked up Whoever Steals This Book and was unfortunately disappointed as well. I’m trying to decide why, maybe it was moving too fast? I do recall that when there were pages trying to introduce me to the book world story, it felt more text-heavy than I wanted it to be and I started to skim those parts a bit once I realized this would be the setup for the whole manga. I was already starting a new volume, but then to learn about another book in my new volume I think didn’t work for me in the way it was presented. I wish I enjoyed it more 😭 oh well lol. Thanks for a fun video!

Gotta love discovering previously unknown entries in series that you really enjoy! It happens to me most often with music. I'll randomly come across a new song from one of my favorite artists or randomly see that they're playing a show nearby out of nowhere and it will make my day! Sometimes my whole week! I might have to give Zom 100 a go. I loved Alice in Borderland! I'm definitely interested in reading more of Haro Aso's work and a fun lighthearted read would be a nice change of pace from some of the heavier stuff I've been reading! I just picked up PTSD Radio,(Thanks to your spooky reads video you did back in the fall!) No Longer Human, and Music of Marie(which may be less heavy than the others, but I think you hinted at some serious themes when you reviewed it as well) In I'm a Wolf, but My Boss is a Sheep, that character is absolutely a Taurus! All of the rest of the birthdays match the correct month and sign, even the other Aries!🤣 Translations are tricky to get right. There's so much more than just switching out words so I guess I can forgive the occasional error when they inevitably pop up. Even if this one was literally just a word swap.🤣 It's so disappointing when you're hyped for something and it just falls flat. Luckily I can only think of one read that really disappointed me recently, and that was Solaris by Stanislaw Lem. I went into it thinking it was going to be this really deep scifi story with tons of intriguing commentary on society and our interactions with each other and the unkown, and there was a little of that, but ultimately it disappointed on practically every level. This might be a hot take, but for me at least, it was slow, boring, and about as deep as a kiddie pool. It's barely 200 pages and I found it so uninteresting it took me almost a month to get through. It focuses a lot on guilt and our attempts to understand the unknown, but didn't really say anything that wasn't pretty surface level obvious stuff, and if you take away the "depth" there isn't a whole lot of story to supplement. Its plot centers on how the characters react to the strange phenomenon they experience, but none of said characters do anything terribly interesting or meaningful. I'm willing to concede that maybe the futility of it all was the point it was trying to get across, but ultimately I just found it trite. I also struggled with the last Dune book, but I knew exactly what I was getting into when I picked that up, so hard to say I was disappointed when I went into it knowing it was going to be a hard read. In the end I think hearing what Frank Herbert had to say was totally worth it however, unlike Stanislaw Lem. It's all good though. Bad reads just make me appreciate the good ones all the much more!

I thought Whoever Steals This Book was very okay. My biggest issue was the fantasy elements felt rushed. I didn't mind the main character and her dislike for books. I used to dislike reading too! But just like her, I've since grown interested lol. I'll probably give it one more volume before seeing if it still interests me. Glad you liked Gamer Gal!! I'm excited for volume 2! Sorry you didn't like some of the other ones but I'm also not too sureprised tbh 😂

Such a fun video! I picked up a whole bunch of manhwa/weebtoons recently. I definitely want to read all the ones in my collection. A business proposal was definitely really fun! I really enjoyed that one, but haven’t continued it mainly for like you said the price point. I was lucky my friend was selling a whole bunch of them, so that’s why I picked them up and I’m hoping to do a vlog reading them! one of the ones I picked up was true beauty so now I’m a little bit scared lol😅 I will definitely have to check out the ones you have on top

Another Battle Story is very appropriate for Overgeared 😂. Nothong wrong with that. Yeah I loved it, but that's all it was. A battle story but a pretty good one lol. Unholy Blood has always caught my eye, especially that cover! I really like the art too. It looks closer to american comics than that identical webtoon art style you mentioned lol. And of course, I love vampires too!

I just read the next volumes for Secretary Kim, A Business Proposal, and See You in My 19th life yesterday so it was cool to hear your opinions on these series especially! Lol at the Jungle Juice section, we did indeed have this in my college in NJ so still unsure how regional it may or may not be. 😂 thanks for another fun video!
