@MizzMangaChatz Yes I own both because they are two of my favourites and I hardly see them on people's shelves or some people have never even heard of them and it's such a shame because they are so different compared to a lot of the same manga we get.
Ooh Genkaku Picasso definitely sounds interesting! Spiral the Bonds of Reasoning also sounds like it's worth checking out! I've also to wanted to read Platnum End ever since you featured it in your "Everythin I Read in 2022" video! A plot compelling enough that a cast of forgettable characters doesn't detract from it has to be one hell of a good plot indeed! The more I see of the content you put out the more my tbr list grows...😮💨🤣
I personally love Genkaku Picasso!! I’ve seen ppl not be impressed by it, but idk it just works for me super interesting imo 😁 Yes, Spiral is an oldie but I really enjoyed it idk how easy to get your hands on it would be though, unfortunately 😅 Yeah, Platinum End surprised me especially since I never made it through Death Note (though it wasn’t for lack of an interesting plot that’s for sure) haha 🤣 I am not a huge religious person but the philosophical and interesting premise on this take on God and everything was very cool to me! Haha I know there are just so many great manga out there why do you think I ended up with so many?!? 🤣
Wow hope you’re feeling even better now, and are 100% soon! I definitely enjoyed another installment in this miniseries. The art for Betrayal does look so good, so that’s a shame about its status.
Thanks so much! 😊 Aww good I’m glad! Yes, it really is eye catching, and I know hearing how it didn’t feel “complete” or ppl weren’t satisfied with the ending also made me hesitate to pick it up, but if I ever get to reading it I’ll be sure to update my feelings on it! 🤣👍
Hope you feel better! Wow so many series I never heard of on these bookcases! I noticed Yu Yu Hakusho was easier to find now. Think they did a reprint. I couldn’t remember if I still needed to finish it or not.
Thanks so much! Oh yeah, I see that definitely in stock again! Thanks for the heads up I definitely think I want to try and finish it along with checking out the anime since so many comments are saying how they really enjoyed it 😊
I actually did do the math on this one!🤣 You've definitely completed more series than you haven't, and by a wide margin, too! I also added up the total numbers of each category: read, unread, and partially read if you're interested in hearing how it all shook out! However, the total number of vols in each category is a lot closer than the total number of series in each!😅 Since I know it's a point of pride, I figured I'd see how curious you were about how good those numbers were before posting them!😂
🤣 I’m so surprised you did the math on it and I’m glad to hear that I’ve completed more series than it feels like (I know I tend to mostly focus on the ones I haven’t read so that’s probably why😅). Ahh that makes sense there are a lot of volumes in Haikyu alone so the numbers of vols would be closer, but it still made me feel good to hear I’ve read more thanI think! Sure, you can totally share I’d be totally down to see the numbers! 😊
@MizzMangaChatz lol ok so, there were two series that I wasn't sure if you finished or not, the first one being Zombie Loan and the other being Are You Alice which you never actually mentioned finishing or not.😂 For my numbers I assumed that you read both of those though, since you're fairly sure you read all of Zombie Loan and Are You Alice is an Alice in Wonderland adaptation of sorts which is a genre(?) which you've mentioned really enjoying before.😂 So assuming that you've read all of both of those that's 14 series completed totaling 121 vols! There's 7 series unread totaling 50 vols, and 5 series partially read totaling 106 vols. Of the partially read vols you only mentioned roughly how many you actually read for 3 of those series: 5 or 6 for Tagami Bachi, 1 for Yu Yu Hakusho, and 2 or 3 of Black Cat. You've read at least 1 vol of Haikyu and the other one, but I'm going to assume it's at least 2 or 3 for those as well. So let's assume you read 2 of Haikyu and three of the other. That would mean that you've read a further 15 vols of those 106 partially completed series. So that puts the total number of vols read at around 135 and the total number of unread at about 141.😅 Like you said, Haikyu has so many vols that it represents a disproportionately large percentage of that book case!😂
@ oh no my bad! I am pretty sure I read all of zombie loan yeah haha but no I actually haven’t read Are You Alice my bad I guess I forgot to actually say the important part 🫣😅 but still really cool thanks for taking the time to do all that! 😁
@MizzMangaChatz haha😂 no problem! You mentioned wondering how the numbers stacked up in the last video in this series, and I was curious myself! I felt like I was more actively engaging in the video, which genuinely added to my enjoyment as well! Kinda like a side game to play along while watching! Not that I find math fun, far from it!🤣 But I do have a natural curiosity that loves looking for answers to the unknown! Even the mundane unknown, like counting how many books you've read vs not read!🤣
I love Yu Yu Hakusho. This may be controversial but I actually enjoyed it more than HxH. I’ve only watched the anime for both, but I do own all of the Yu Yu Hakusho manga as well since I enjoyed it so much
Not controversial at all! Most Togashi and Shonen fans in general agree that YuYu Hakusho is overall better (aside from the final arc which he was forced to rush through)
I like HxH more for the world building depth. But hard to compete with a fully finished series. I really enjoy both series though, so I can understand why people enjoy it more
@@donjon8413 I actually didn’t know that. Not a single person I know has seen Yu Yu Hakusho, but they’ve all seen Hunter x Hunter lol. It was also huge during covid anime tiktok era. I would absolutely love to see more love for YYH, you guys made me feel less alone!
Ok 👍 I’ll try to watch it next honestly I’ve actually been watching anime more this month if you can believe it 🤣 just finished season 4 of Demon Slayer so hopefully Yu Yu Hakasho will grab me!
I guess if you've seen the anime not having read all of that Haikyu is totally understandable. That's why I like reading the manga first, it's easier to watch after 😂. I'm getting pretty into light novels now but I'm going to make sure I keep those more under control as far as having too much unread. Surely lol.
Haha yeah well it is fun to get those action scenes off the games in anime versus manga, but I think it’ll be fun to read the manga just gotta actually commit to it 🤣🙌 Haha ofc surely you will keep it under control! (At any rate you do a better job of it then me 🫣😂)
@@MizzMangaChatz You speak too soon because I just started three new light novel series lol. Sure I'm only starting with just volume 1 from each, but it will snowball from there.
I remember watching Yu Yu Hakusho when it first aired on adult swim way back when I was in high school! It's been quite a while since I've seen it, but I remember really enjoying it at the time! Although I do remember thinking the spirit gun was a little ridiculous!😂 Not necessarily the concept of it, but the way that it was portrayed with Yusuke just pointed his finger like a gun to fire it!🤣 I thought the whole supernatural, spirit detective stuff was really neat! I never did finish watching the anime though. I seem to recall that adult swim would just pick a seemingly arbitrary stopping point for a lot of their animes and just replay those episodes over and over again for awhile before moving on to the next handful of episodes, even if more episodes were already available! I could easily be misremembering that though! I might have graduated and gone off to college (which was the hard stop to anime for close to 12 years for me) mid run.🤷♂️ I never read the manga, but I have watched all of Hunter x Hunter and read the first two vols that took place after the show ended, and I absolutely adore that series! Yu Yu Hakusho is probably worth checking out, providing I can find all the vols that is!😂
Haha so many ppl have enjoyed it I’ll definitely have to check it out! Yeah, I wouldn’t put it past them that they just kept airing the same eps 🤣 definitely was very inconsistent with anime back in the day! Well maybe you’ll collect the manga or finish watching it at some point! I just found out the vols are being reprinted so that’s great to see 😁
yeah manga piles up really fast when collecting, you and I have the same problem lol
Gimmick and Genkaku Picasso are both so slept on, they are both brilliant underrated unique series, haven't come across anything quite like them.
They’re so great!! I’m so happy to hear you also feel they’re brilliant and underrated bc they sadly are 🥹
