Have you heard about Bride of the Barrier Master? The third manga volume was released a week ago and it was sooo good! This series deserves so much more attention imo!
I love that one!! Sadly when I went to my manga store they didn’t have it in yet but it should definitely be in my December’s haul can’t wait for it!! 🥰❤️ Definitely deserves more attention agreed!!
I'm currently waiting on both After God and Togui Oni vol 4 to come in the mail! After God looks right up my alley! I hope I get a chance to read it before you do a 1st vol review of it!😅 I haven't started Togui Oni yet,(it might make an appearance for one of my 12 first vols prompts😂) but I'm really excited to dive into it! It's December now so that might be the next thing I cross off my tbr!
You got volume 4 without starting Touge Oni just like Zom 100 you’re turning into a true manga collector now watch out! 🤣 Well I really hope you enjoy Touge Oni!! Yes, After God seems very interesting and you have at least until next weekend before I do my review it won’t be in this weekends at least 😅 So you have some time!! 🤣
@MizzMangaChatz Hahaha🤣 I know! You're a bad influence on me!🤣 Both should arrive either tomorrow or the day after that! I want to start reading some of the vols that I'm thinking about using for the challenge before Stormlight 5 comes out on Friday, so hopefully, I'll be able to get through both of them before then!🤞
Haha I can get behind an all lady harem, I Don't Know Which is Love is going straight on my list! Glad you picked up rhe Eighty Six light novels. I'm going to slowly convert you! 😂
@MizzMangaChatz Hahaha okay, I won't. I think it's best to just focus on one light novel series at a time anyway. Don't fall down the same rabbit hole I'm in 😂
I just finished up Yomotsuhegi as well! I had some nice quiet time while visiting my family over the weekend to get a little extra reading in! I enjoyed it although I agree that some parts felt rushed. For the first quarter to half of the last vol I had no idea how they were going to be able to wrap everything up in a satisfactory way, but by the end I was happy with how the story finished!😁 Spoilers I'm really happy they didn't go down the whole, we gotta take out the rest of the original 7 before unlocking the final big bad for an epic showdown, route. It's been done to death, and there certainly was not enough room for something like that all in just one half of one vol! The final battle did feel a little rushed, but that didn't really bother me since the focus was more on internal struggles than exterior ones. The ending all hinged on the two big reveals that Yue was Ren and Kinoto's brother and that Ookamuzumi(my god were there so many difficult names to pronounce🤣) was responsible for bringing the tree of death into the living world in the first place. It shifted the focus from a big end game fight to resolving a familial squabble. I was a little confused by Yue's motivations, especially after Kinoto was able to confront him directly. I felt like they were really contradictory! Give a select few eternal life, which felt like a curse to most of the undead we meet, but at the cost of literally hundreds of innocent lives! I guess he felt like he needed more undead in order to kill Ookamuzumi, but it seemed like he knew that was impossible until all the undead and the tree itself were destroyed! Maybe I just misread that part!😅 Regardless, Kinoto wanted Yue to know he forgave him so that he could move on, but Yue still insisted on destroying the hand of the shinigami even though he now knew that was the brother he had spent millenia trying to avenge, and that by doing so he was just propagating a never ending cycle! I also would have liked a little more time fleshing out the relationship between the three siblings. We we're just told that Yue and Kinoto fought all the time, and Ren played peace maker without ever really seeing any examples of it. I feel like getting to know all of them better would have made the ending a little more emotionally charged! That's really just me nitpicking though.😂 The ending was still really sad, but with that bittersweet touch as well, knowing that Kinoto and Nawa's sacrifice was able to rid the world of a great evil. All in all, I enjoyed my time with it even though it wasn't the most exceptionally standout series.
It’s so hard to try and discuss a series especially a complex, multilayered one like The Tree of Death haha but yeah I agree that the ending being a bit rushed when it comes to the fighting climax didn’t really bother me and shifting things to a familial squabble felt way more grounded! Though I wish we had more times with the siblings, their memories of the past, and interactions to flesh them out more. However, I thought his reasoning was if I keep introducing ppl to this immortality then eventually everyone can be immortal, but then ookamuzumi’s deal with the girl to be a shinigami and take out the immortal kept it kinda at this standstill where nothing was really happening, and neither were reaching their goals that’s when they realized both parties were just being toyed with by another world creature (ookamuzaki) this whole time and they had to adjust their way of thinking…idk if I’m explaining my understanding of it good or not haha 🤣 but yeah it was entertaining and while not becoming a standout favorite was a interesting read altogether!
@MizzMangaChatz You made perfect sense to me! Looks like we had a pretty similar take on things. I guess I wasn't making the connection that Yue was also in the dark as to what was really going on until the very end. Yeah, it's tough to discuss the intricacies of a good read or a bad one😂 in any form other than in person. It's easy to forget points or details or what stood out to you and what could have been done better or even those moments of nerding out over your favorite parts without that constant back and forth that you really only get when your talking with someone. It's also impossible (at least for me🤣) to write anything even approaching succinct!😂 Nearly every time I try, I end up writing like a 1,500 word esay!😅
What a wonderful haul! So much BL! You got me on the friends to lovers one. Will pick up once I’m off my banned! The I turned my childhood friend into a girl one had a lot of controversy. The translation didn’t go over so well the first time around when they published it I read that it was homophobic or something like that or trans phobic forgot which one so seven seas republished the first volume and corrected the translation. I kind of want both to compare.
It’s so cute 🥰 hope you enjoy it!! Oh yeah? Oh ok so wondering if I got the old translation 🤔 well even the title kept me away so I’m not surprised based off that there is some phobic aspect or wording…but it’s nice they retranslated and printed it hopefully the new translation is an improvement!
Saint Magic is Omnipotent....I liked the anime very much. Was thankfull we had no love tringle and it may be slow; I liked that she builts her own place in that world on her own and not because of some noble bring her husband. . . I only bought omnibus HARU'S CURSE by Mangaka that writes Yakuza Fiance and very marigold dress 🙀
Haha yeah I mean I’m definitely enjoying it sinceI went and bought 6 more volumes this past month 🤣 even though it’s not my favorite isekai it’s a soft and comforting read! Ooh Haru’s Curse that was an interesting read reminds me I need to collect more of Yakuza Fiance 😅
Great haul!! I hope you enjoy Snow & Ink more than I did! The art was beautiful (that's why I got it too) but the pacing was off for me personally and I just didn't enjoy it 😅 The Agents of the Four Seasons light novel is FANTASTIC so I hope the almost lyrical/poetic writing style comes across with the manga as well 🥲 Yeah, twitter/X is where all the publishers announce any news so that platform is great to find out info that they aren't louder about elsewhere (referring to the Taming the Final Boss 4). It technically was finished at 3 but the author made bonus stories for a vol 4 when the anime was airing for promo. I don't believe it's truly canon to the main story but it's pretty cute. Still agree they should share info the same way on other platforms like insta but it's the sole reason I have a Twitter/X 😆 OMG THE 86 LIGHT NOVEL!!! YAYYYY 🥳 I hope you enjoy it!! It was personally my trap into the LN world and now they have me and I can't stop buying them 😂 Okay my comment is too long now so I'll stop here. I always get excited with your videos and have too much to say 😂💕😢
Aww thanks so much!! 🥰 I’m glad you had so much to say! Oh no bummer to hear about Snow & Ink, but yeah hopefully I still like it 😅 Oh good!! Ugh I know the light novels look so pretty 😍 I’ve been eyeing the Agents of the Four Seasons but happy when it got a manga release (still might pick up the light novels if the prose is as lyrical as you say sounds lovely!) Ugh 😣 I’ve resisted getting Twitter/X signed up for it for a hot minute years ago and was not a fan, but that makes sense they announce stuff on there I’m missing haha 🤣 Ahhh the gateway light novel uh oh might just turn me fully to the light novel side huh like I need more to collect and spend money on lmao 😂 but I’m excited to read it!!
