Gonna turn all of Holy Nation's X's into -'s.
Great build! Do you use a mod for graphics or a reshade?
Asthetic.
F12!?! Really !? Now I need to start a new run. Guess I got my Thanksgiving weekend plans set now
chinese whispers? what are you like 90?
Is there any way to use the dev console to place unbuilt objects? I'd like to use this such that it costs the materials.
Hope its not caves. Id much rather a larger ocean covered world with many, many smaller islands and a few huge ones. Imagine beefing up a mid-sized island into the ultimate self-sufficient base, taking out some faction leader and fighting off a wall of enemy ships. Awesome.
It begs the question, fog man are initially just lost hive, but upon heard all those screams from Behemoths. They turned crazy and felt empathy for their skeleton cousins as they are not robot but half genetically modified as organic worker units. So they followed Cat-Lon call to arm and eat living things they encountered. But I’m not quite sure as i don’t know do hivers actually exist back in the First Empire.
Esata is my favorit Character in Kenshi, she is not the strongest of the shek, even neding help in her fight with shagger but shes strong enough that no one ich dared to challenge here even after she was worn down by her titanic duel and she is basicly cursed, she is cursed with a brain in a world of brainless marauders that rather die then live on and the other factions are little better, the holy nation basicaly gets to heaven when thy die and just swarm everything with zelots and cannfodder becaus they can even going son far as to cripple food suply for half the moon when smashing the hub and the united cities just refuse to die despite everyone knowing the ship sinks for like hundereds of years. Dont know how she managed but she seems to bee the only one who hase no deathwish in this World
"Unbiased look" and using "freedom" as a metric in whatever context is not really congruent as it is an abstract concept that can't really be measured.
I wasn't discussing freedom as a concept. I was referring to "Freedom of Personal Movement," which is why I labeled it as that on the chart. By that, i refer to the ability for the citizens of the faction to leave ones own property with confidence that the overall "goverment" of the faction will protect the ownership and rights of that individuals property in their absence. Which is a real measurable metric in real world government/citizen relationships and is one of the foundational concepts of a Rupublic IRL. I also was referring to the safety one would have during such movement around the factions territory in comparison to the others or in the "wilds" So, I wasn't using "freedom" as a metric. I was using the relationship and security between the ruling faction and it's denizens to measure the ability to move about the faction territory without fear of loss of property or life.
I want to build a nation in shem that coexists with other nations (as far as possible in kenshi). Is there a way to bring people in other than recruiting them? (Vanilla or via Mods) I'd like my recruits to provide security an a basic amount of infrastructure. Apart of that it would be cool if the npcs would farm/trade by themselves
Shek are actually closer to the new vegas legion, being a horde of bandit raiders. And people say Shek have no slaves but what do you think they mean when they say losers from battles must have their horns cut and are forced to be "servants"? Shek women are only tolerated as long as they can fight for their raider cult.
I see Agnu and Beep's relationship as one between two broken individuals. Agnu by years upon years of torture, and Beep by being 'defective' and exiled by the hive. Together, they find someone like themselves.
United cities doesn't have any people in poverty. We don't call them people.
What about after a successful rebel farmer takeover? I wonder if the UC would become a better world after its fall
but no evidence of guns.
The Second Empire I don’t think was intended to be primarily skeletons. It just happened to be that way given their formation was followed by the extinction event and the remainder humans still bitter over it went off to worship Okran/Stobe. Given the circumstances it makes sense why the empire decayed away overtime with Cat-Lons sanity.
This video really hit me because I literally just got one of my friends into kenshi and she's addicted to it. She's decided that her playstyle is going to be following around neutral faction patrols and healing them in a 'doctors without borders' group of roaming nomads, so that "eventually the faction relations with everyone will go up bit by bit and everyone will like me". I hope it works, honestly, because that's genuinely one of the most pure-hearted things you can do in this game full of peeler metagame strats. Now I can think of myself as the Agnu to her Beep.
I figured the HN would do amazing with a question like this. The HN is by far my favorite faction, outside of the women oppression stuff they are the type of faction I love in video games with an organized humanity fighting off powerful outside threats. The slavery stuff of UC is also fun to play around. I like the friction their cultures give with the HN religion and slavery in the UC, it's fun gameplay navigating these issues rather than the generic stuff most games give you like with the Shek kingdom. Having your characters enslaved after a failed battle and needing to rescue them or escape is just fun to play around. With the HN stuff I like the friction that can happen with the religion stuff and racism (when it's not based on skin color, humans hating on bug men and skeletons is perfectly fine and logical!), the only thing I really hate is how buggy it can be with paladins running up asking me to hand over non humans when I only have humans in my party. The Shek are a boring faction imo, they just have some people that yap with nothing interesting going on. I feel like they needed to add something special to the Shek Kingdom that would give the player a little friction in an interesting way. Even Hivers ignore hiveless to give you a little friction, I find too few games are willing to give fun friction in games and tend to just have everything go the players way.
I actually love the idea of the second empire existing primarily in a nuclear winter because of how it parallels the imagery of the ashlands. I imagine a lot of skeletons would remember the empire as being always covered in a layer of snow. Now picture how much more melancholic and tragic it is to return to those ruins, now coated in ash instead, but still looking just like you remember them.
UC is huge but we have much more shows of how powerfull HN is, the territory north is full of destroyed cities by the paladins and is said to happened in a single day, just to show how capable they are in every area , their only flaw is the slavery, being so agresive with other species is even needed in a world like kenshi when you dont know when something will go crazy
Really good video. It's been a while since I played, I remember the graphics looking different. Are you using a mod for them? Man, I am one of the less creative types when it comes to building in games, but seeing stuff like this is inspiring!
co-op would not hurt anything. hope it happens but from what i seen from the dev i dont think its anything they are working on. but who knows.
I can't handle the voice. Plz don't do that
these are amazing
"scientific oppresion"🤓🤡
I would like to see the constellation(s) of Kenshi, i just don't know how to turn the camera up. Do you think Chris put any lore in the heavens?
What armor is that in the thumbnail?
My guess? Probably none, or a Skeleton faction, since it seems highly unlikely to me that the moon in such a state can remain hospitable to human life for very long (well, relatively speaking, but you did specify "long-term" :D). When it has lost that much surface water but *not* through cooling leading to expansion of the ice caps, seemingly rather the opposite of cooling has been happening, that bodes... super ill. Global warming death-spiral ill, water evaporation causing increase in greenhouse effect causing increased evaporation... Only question is which happens first; too warm to live there, or not enough water left to live there? Though, even if we discard the climate angle, my answer would still be none of them... I think without player interference the Holy Nation would probably "win" the current wars, likely destroying any peer it has... but that still doesn't mean it's going to last, and I don't think it could. Maybe even *especially* without a great war to fight.
Making visually based conclusions while using graphics mods
Who would win, two massive authoritarian regimes or a one-armed nobody with a grudge and a dream.
Usually the one-armed nobody, but that's because I can't resist my Shek runs.
Be careful listeners. This is Holy Nation Propaganda, it is directly sponsored by the Holy Priests.
Man 6k views and only 170 likes? What are people too lazy to press a button on a damn video smh
Its also completely possible that the Skeletons were not meant to live for thousands and thousands of years and the resets were never a designed feature. Just a stop gap solution. Perhaps thats why Catlon kept his memories so long, he intended to find a more permenant solution but never got the time in all the chaos of the second empire.
I think CPU resets are a stop gap solution, there was likely a more sophisticated solution. A way to back themselves up or reset without wiping all the memories.
i kind of hope its multiplayer capability.
For native species of kenshi, i think the best way to separate them is betweens 3 category, introduced, idk and native. Goat, dog, bull are all obviously from earth so we can cross them off as introduced, gorrilo, land bats and swamp turtles are probably not from kenshi and are just modifed versions of gorrilas bat and elephant, spiders and hivers are probably manufactured by the second empire but they are in the maybe till we get proof, garru are my biggest idk but mamals looking creatures dont fit on the planet of kenshi. Leviathan, skimmers, beak things and raptors are all sort of dinausaur type of creatures and fit their environment more than the rest of them. Im guessing fish and crabs are also native bc of how live evolved on earth.
Slavery does not benefit the economy in fact it is a massive economic depressant. Slave states becoming economic power houses is a massive misunderstanding of history and basically only exists in fiction because people conflate highly developed nations with massive amounts of territory for the "benefits" of slavery
If Agnu had a voice, all you would hear him/her/it say would be "POLICE!!!!! POLICE!!!! POLICE!!!!"... so its a good thing he doesnt say anything. I never had both of them in the party, since i despise ants for how useless they are in combat (maybe with the exception of soldiers, and even then theres a lot of areas i have to avoid due to lack of the ability to wear gas masks; before anyone says anything - already did a full ant playthrough; front line made of 8 soldiers, most kidnapped from the UC peasantry, and 2 prince crossbowmen hired in bars). Beep is... toxic. Thats all i have to say about him. Hope he gets eaten by fogmen.
I mean the fishman i really fear is the one thats in the mirror, strangely he looks just like me
I have a massive base at the same exact place, skeletons and holy nations go peacefully shopping together in it frequently, as long as all my characters are set to passive. The Location can be very bugged out depending on how you build.
i like putting a tower on the round bit of the bug house then put two of those next to eachother and bridge into a secret compound, or just as a stairwell to a bridge to an upper layer or unaccessible place
oooh if you went behind that station house theres a iron deposit and round to the left you can go up the hill and there is a little outlook above the station house and a hill that has a little plateau on and one entrance hill theres only two sort of large ways too wall off then the only entrance is that station house area usually i block the big ways off with walls and stuff then funnel them up the small passage but if you block that off you could have a nice little primitive style entrance i always use that place as a big city location as its right next to the hub and i like to stick wind turbines all janky on the cliff edge so it looks like theve been salvaged even though theyve fallen i might build up the big rock at the look out to see if i can with the f12 menu, would be a cool lookout to put one random dude on a chair with a turret maybe and a bed
There is no "origin of the hivers", since even skeletons dont remember them being there before. Similarly, there is no origin of cannibals, since they kind of appeared, and managed to make cannibalism not just self-sustaining, but also expanded it to an industrial level (have you seen how many cages they have in each village/their capital? how many people, exactly, travel to/through the cannibal plains to make the cannibals need this many?). The game is full of plot holes and missing content. Doesnt make it any less great, but its still a thing. Some things are just unexplainable. Like fogmen. Theres an infinite amount of them, but no actual source. Or starving bandits... okay, okay, ima stop here.
Holy Nation. Hands down HN. The Shek are just stupid spiky monkeys with big weapons, while the Empire is a caste system thats on the brink of imploding. Just take a look at what happens when each of these gets dismantled: 1. When UC is dismantled, a massive famine follows. The entire system collapses and towns and slave camps either end up in ruins or are taken over by minor factions. Anti-slavers become the de facto jailor caste, while the rebel peasants make up the enforcers of the whole thing, keeping the gates protected. But are they, though? Unlike the samurai, those peasants at the gates cant fend off even a small grasshopper incursion or a bandit raid. A place corrupt to the bone turns into a lawless wasteland, with famine and ruin following close. 2. Shek kingdom is destroyed - the whole group goes on a berserker rampage, attacking everyone and everything. Their towns can either get taken over by the smaller shek factions, or left in complete ruin - and no fucks are given, since nothing of value was lost. The Shek keep being Shek. 3. Holy Nation falls. The instant effect is tied to the Shek, as they take over all the farms and extort the peasantry mercilessly. Junk ninjas take over Blister Hill, leaving the place in ruin, for the most part. Depending on whether the UC had part in HNs downfall - all of their farms might end up enslaved, while Okrans Shield and Bad Teeth fall under their jurisdiction - this outcome isnt exactly that bad, all things considered. Most importantly, though - the west is now being flooded by overspill of fogmen, whom the HN kept at bay up until this point. The HN might be ass backwards, and their ideals arent amazing, but they provide their people with safety and stability. You always run into cunts wanting to fight you in the Shek lands, and in UC lands you either get ripped off by the city guard or enslaved. So - HN would succeed in the long run. Phoenixes change, and with them the states ideals and priorities. UC doesnt, and neither do the Shek.
dick knows.
I always thought to myself, "Why don't the Shek just do what the Romans did and do gladiatorial fights?" It gives them the battle they crave like you said, and it's especially good in the case of the Traders Guild who could monetize the entire thing, and the Shek could grow livestock for the soul purpose of using them as competition for the shek.
I think your analysis of the Shek is a bit sketchy... You titled your video 'Can', not 'Have'. (And, note, I have no personal favorites among _any_ of the factions (listed or not)) With the Shek there might be a lot of 'if's on whether they 'Can' succeed, but that prediction should take the ifs into account. Your analysis only takes in to account what they currently 'have'.
Can't wait for Kenshi 2. Gonna roleplay Cat-Lon and commit genocide on the entire map lmao
kenshi 2 before the fall of the third empire
