    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 17 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Oh for sure. I actually rode it around on some really steep grassy inclines and it had plenty of torque to make it up. The incline test was about 12.5% grade, which is ~2.5% more than the steepest section on South Mountain. I would have done the test up there but the trunk of my Mazda is a bit too small to fit it in there.

    Only 61 lbs without seat?? It's listed at a few tenths under 70lbs on the site. Problem is, im a fat guy, and a few lbs over the stated max rider weight. I think i may need the extra power of the gallop, but 85lbs is a bit too much. My first scooter was 97lbs and i told myself id never get one that heavy again for commuting.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 17 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yah the seat adds quite a bit of weight. If you’re above the max weight I’d recommend the gallop. The dual motors make all the difference. When you commute with it do you take it inside with you or do you lock it up outside?

    • @turtlepowersf
      @turtlepowersf 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @tomsgadgetgarage it would be coming inside the building with me. Security is kind of a pain where I work, too. I haven't asked them directly if I can bring a scooter inside, but I have a feeling ill have a better chance of slipping through the cracks if I'm carrying a folded scooter vs just pushing it inside with the stem upright.

      Hey! So in PAS 1 & PAS 2 the throttle is limited to the PAS limits of ~9mph and 15mph. You can go into the P-settings and set it so that throttle is set to max amperage in all PAS levels while retaining some limits in PAS 1 & PAS 2, although they are quite a bit higher than the default setting. In PAS 3 the limit is the 20mph for throttle. In PAS 4 & 5 throttle has the same 20mph limit but get you to speed much faster than PAS 3.

      @@tomsgadgetgarage great info. I have an XP 2.0 and I have full throttle authority in all PAS settings but I know on the XP 3.0 it has the PWR and throttle is tied to PAS which I wouldn't like. Let's say your stopped at a road crossing, in PAS 1 and you need to give it the "beans" ....... no power, not cool. But your saying you can tweek it in setting to give the thumb throttle more punch in 1 or 2 ? That's cool. Thanks! I wonder if there is a way to put a lectric twist throttle on this bike. Dude, I still can't get over this thing beating the Apollo GO to 20mph!! ...then out ranging it by 5mi while doing the same average speed, with a technically smaller battery. HAHA! I only thought of this because so many people on the forums are captured and memorized by Apollo's marketing about their electronic efficiency. Obviously it's a combination of controlers, cells and motors but whatever InMotion is doing, it's super impressive at a $699 price point. Literally the only thing it's missing when compared to the other Commuter Groups, is a front suspension. Since I don't care about turn signals and button placement isn't a deal breaker for me with this type of scooter, my "magic wand" changes for the climber would be 3-4 mph higher speed and a simple, front suspension.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The acceleration was definitely a surprise. It gets to speed really quickly and smoothly. If they ever come out with a suspension version with the same ride experience, they will really be a force to be reckoned with. I’m tempted to take it up to South Mountain in the coming weeks. I feel like it could possibly do the whole route.

    I really like that Inmotion but, I live in Costa Rica and here there is no distributor of that brand, there are no accessories or spare parts, and I was searching on Aliexpress and I didn't find batteries or anything for the scooter either, on the other hand for the Ninobot Max G2 there is a distributor here and on Aliexpress there is everything, that's why I'm undecided which one to go for and after that I contacted the distributors directly and I haven't had a response from Inmotion.

    I'm at 311 miles on my 3.0 standard battery and I've had no huge problems. The shifting isn't perfect and the front brake makes some noise from time to time. But I can easily make a 20 mile round trip in 6th gear only using pedal assis 1 and 2 over hills and I'm 215lbs

      That’s awesome. Yah I like cruising around in PAS 2. For the shifting, I actually took mine in to get tuned and now it shifts perfectly. They removed six links from the chain and made some adjustments to the derailleur.

    got mine for 700 after the discount code, comes tomorrow. Cant wait, i got a cheap 300 dollar scooter off amazon that goes 19mph and i get around pretty ez on that, but this has nearly triple the battery and shocks. It’ll be a night and day difference haha. Like moving from a Ford Focus to a Cadillac sedan. What I love about this scooter is its versatility compared to your typical commuter scooter. Having the extra ground clearance and suspension travel gives you way more options for riding over obstacles. Plus it’s got the seat which is actually quite comfortable if you need it.

      So strangely enough there are no published torque numbers that I can find online or in any of the product documentation. I also don’t have a dyno to test it out on. They’ve got to be high though because the Climber really excels at climbing steep inclines.

      I prefer the one with adjustable seat and handlebars. I’m also 5’10” and definitely took advantage of the adjustability. The 14” tires honestly do an excellent job of absorbing impact so no suspension really wasn’t an issue for me.

    @RoMeeHang 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The brakes on this thing is loud as hell. You can hear it in this review. I returned it for that reason alone. You don't even need the bell to alert people, they can hear the squeaky brakes from a mile away.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yah my brakes started squeaking after riding around in dusty areas. I will clean them with some alcohol and see if that does it. Unfortunately with disc brakes, they are prone to squeaking, especially when riding around muddy/dusty areas. Funny story, Porsche actually published a video on how squeaky brakes are normal lol. Probably had to many people in the service department 😅

    • @Patriot36
      @Patriot36 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Valid complaint but every disc brake scooter is susceptible to this. Sometimes it's inherent to a particular design that causes more resonate squealing but a lot of the time it's just the brake pad material that the manufacturer happened to acquire through a particular vendor. Sometimes it's the rotor design or metallurgy. In any case, there's usually an inexpensive fix, for people who really like the scooter otherwise.

    Which scooter would you prefer this one or the G2?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Max G2 has a more comfortable ride because of its class leading suspension. But it really does lack in power compared to the Climber. The Climber can also tackle much steeper inclines than the Max G2. So for that reason, if I had to choose between the two from a performance and hill climbing perspective, I’d go with the Climber. Segway is in the process of rolling out new firmware which brings more power to the Max G2, but it’s not available for me to test yet. As soon as it becomes available, I’ll test performance on both.
