    Which one is better G2 max or ZT3 pro?? In my country they have same price

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Me personally, I’d get the ZT3 Pro. It’s newer, has ergonomically designed controls, and has outperformed the G2 in nearly every one of my tests, including range (by 1 mi/1.6km). The G2 does have a nicer suspension, weighs less, has a smaller form factor, and is more discreet, but it can’t keep up with the ZT3 from a performance perspective.

      Yah I would have thought California would embrace PEVs. But I’m not surprised. They did the same thing with self driving cars, which pushed self driving car companies to Arizona, basically making it the self driving car capital of the US lol. If anything, the rules need to be relaxed.

    Why not tubeless tires??

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage วันที่ผ่านมา

      So those PMTs work with tubed and tubeless. The issue is the split rim on this scooter doesn’t have a sealing mechanism to allow for tubeless. The rear tire on the Emove Cruiser V2 though does have a seal to allow for split tubeless.

      @ Outdated scooter imo for 2025. A handful of complaints about its leaking front hydraulic suspension and overheating issues and was only funded by Indiegogo which usually leads to manufacturing defects due to only being backed up by hype and rush. Apollo Go beats it in power easily but the latter sacrifices range significantly while the current VMAX VX2 sacrifices suspension. You may as well wait and save up for the new Max G3 or even the new F3 Pro which is as good as the old G2 minus all the said problems above!

    @tomsgadgetgarage I bought the Max G2 01/25/25 for $799 + tax (Best Buy ) and I love it. Now I hear the Max G3 is out around Spring 2025 for $900-$1000 + tax rumor has it. A 13 1/2 year old who is near and dear to my heart has fallen in love with my Max G2 also. He was telling me stuff about the scooter as soon as he laid eyes on it and by just standing on it..."the suspension this", "the wideness of the board that", "size of the tires", "are these self-healing tubeltires?", etc. I will admit his knowledge was surprising about it. Every time I have went for a ride he was right there beside me. Is a Max G2 too much for him (5' 7" & 13 1/2) if I gift it to him? If not, should I wait for the G3 or get another G2? I would appreciate your advice, just remember he will be in high-school (starts 9th grade and 14th bday in Sept. 2025), already appreciates suspension, speed, the ability to keep up with people without his legs getting tired, and threw in that he could go get me my McDonald's Friday Fries when I wanted them lol.

    Which do you prefer this or Emove v2?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s a really tough question. The Emove Cruiser V2 is a huge heavy scooter which given its purpose, is a good thing. It’s got a commanding presence and barrels through rough roads. The suspension isn’t as refined at the City Pro but gets the job done. Its throttle is very linear in its output which I’ve come to really like. It isn’t nearly as polished as the City Pro, but its handlebars offer tons of space for accessories and the deck can double as a dance floor lol. You also don’t have to worry about range. I got 47 miles on my Cruiser V2 range test. If I have to transport the scooter somewhere for a weekend getaway, I choose the City Pro as it’s got solid power and decent range for its size. If I just want to roll out of my garage and cruise around town, I’ll hop on the Cruiser V2. I have a couple hill climb tests to do on the City Pro and 1 remaining for the Cruiser V2.

    ant issues you had to this scooter?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! So I had two issues with the scooter. The first was a wiring issue. The right turn signal and taillight wires were swapped so I needed to switch two pins in the connector. I haven’t heard of anyone else having this issue. The second issue was a bad button pad. One of the buttons failed after I made my feature overview video. A few other folks had the same issue and it appears to have been a bad batch of button pads. I decided to swap mine with a Klima style button pad. Other than those two issues, this is an AMAZING scooter. Extremely smooth, blisteringly fast acceleration, and VERY good handling at speed.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage

    Hi Tom, great content as usual. One quick thing though. The Throttle functions are controlled by P22 (assistance level) and not P11 (Power Ramp). P22 is supposed to dictate how much power the throttle has in different level PAS. I'm not sure what P11 does but it used to be PAS sensitivity on the lite 1.0 and I though it was just that more simplified but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello and thank you! So when you change P11 to 0 from 3, there’s a noticeable increase in acceleration. The manual says the digits (0,1,2,3) represent the time to max power delivery. So instead of ramping up power in 3 seconds, 0 applies it immediately. It’s a noticeable difference. Have you tried it yet? Just want to make sure I’m not imagining things haha. P22 on the other hand made me like this bike even more. I changed mine to 1 instead of 0 and it feels a lot better pedaling in PAS 3. When it was 0, I rode mostly in PAS 2 because PAS 3,4,5 all went to 20mph which for me results in ghost pedaling. When I changed P22 to 1, PAS 3 is now 16mph or so and 4/5 are 20. I’d love to have PAS 3 at 17mph, but I’ll gladly take 16 haha.

    • @patthecat1800
      @patthecat1800 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tomsgadgetgarage I have a lite 1.0, and I just bought a lite 2.0 but I haven't gotten to test it much since it's winter here. With the P22 thing, another TH-camr said it limited the throttle power in PAS 1 and 2, (like power is limited to 20% and 40% power in 1 and 2, repsectively.) And in the manual for setting #2 it says "PWR no speed limits, full throttle in any PAS level". I took that to mean you just get 100% throttle in any PAS, but I haven't tested it. I thought your throttle speed tests were close enough in time that difference was just a limited trials margin of error, which is normal statistically. I could be wrong though. If I can't get my questioned answered in the lectric groups I'll can always just call them and ask and get back to you.

      Yah I can try testing it out more tomorrow evening. The P22 setting is strange because the behavior is different than what the manual describes. Setting P22 to 1 is the way though. Makes a huge difference, at least for me.

    I love these types of videos, they are informative and give you an honest opinion and idea of what type of range a rider can get depending on the rider's weight. Battery state at time of the range test, tire pressure etc. This is a great video. The range was very good for the speed you did. Im not gonna mention it because i want people to see the whole video so they can ask questions once they finish watching it. 😎👊

    The Apollo city pro 2024 is incredibly old…Well it is too me because I purchased it in January 2024…And returned it because the stem snapped coming to a stop at 15mph….

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yah the design hasn’t changed in a while but the ride is so smooth. Reminds me of the GO, just bigger and with a more plush suspension. I remember you mentioned not too long ago the stem snap you experienced. As soon as you mentioned that, I started inspecting the stem area of all my scooters more frequently. Although snaps are pretty rare across most scooters, it’s definitely something to look out for. I’ve seen posts on Reddit from folks experiencing snaps on scooters from many big names in the industry. Thankfully some companies are starting to stress test their stems now with like 100k bends or whatever.

    I think you should change your range test to be realistic and fair. First, I think capping your speed at 20 mph is a good idea. But, not all scooters are going 20 mph since their speedometers can be inflated, like this one shows 20 but actually only goes 18 mph. Therefore, using actual 20 mph GPS speed would give better results. Second, I think you should remove the 30% of the course that is off road. Most riders are staying on the asphalt 100% of the time, so your range test is not giving your audience an accurate real world result.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to play around with different testing scenarios in the future. One of the challenges is that some scooters prioritize range through onboard programming whereas others prioritize consistency in speed. So even though I set GPS speed to 20mph (not possible on all scooters), half way into the ride one scooter may max out at 19mph while the other won’t exceed 17mph. Lots and lots of variables. I try and provide directional results as a dude in Arizona riding different devices on the same route. Individual riding results will likely vary for many reasons.

    Just a suggestion, it is possible to include the accumulative distance in the corner of the video?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! So the problem I run into is that I’d have to run the camera continuously for the entire test. I just started playing around with adding speed, and DJI/GoPro require I export the footage to my phone through the app then use the app to add the telemetry then export to my phone one more time with the added telemetry. Then I export to my computer to edit the footage. These companies don’t have desktop apps so the whole process eats up my phone storage. I do add periodic range updates and provide a GPS map summary at the end. I’m going to play around with this stuff more because there has to be an easier way 😂. If I can figure out a way, I absolutely will 😊.

      @@tomsgadgetgarage To be honest, I did not know it was so difficult and thus thanks for replying. I have seen it done in some mountain bike races, but no idea how the creator achieved this.

      @ yah I’m going to try and figure it out because that would be awesome. This whole using the phone to add metrics is the most ridiculous thing ever. It took me like 2 hours just to get all the footage off my phone. I’m convinced the creators of these action cameras aren’t actual users themselves lol.

    Good commentary and edited out the video. From what I see that Apollo doesn't have a good efficient electric motor but rather more like poor consumption unlike other scooters.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So one of the challenges is the difference in voltage between this and some of the other scooters as well as motor output. Torque and acceleration strength rarely lineup from one scooter to the next, which makes it difficult to make an apples to apples comparison. For example, one scooter might give you the option to set acceleration strength on a scale from 1-10, while another only gives you weak and strong :(.

    nice scooter man, but i have 2 questions. what app are you using to track the temperature of the motor and the other stuff? is the g2 good for light offroading? poland has some offroad trails that will get you to the mall so much quicker, instead of going on the super steep road. im also kind of interested to ride with it to the gym, and its around 6 miles, do you think the scooter will make it back home too, without additional charging?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! So range wise you should be more than okay. I know there are speed restrictions there, so I’m confident in saying 10-12 miles in each direction on mostly flat ground. As for off roading, I’ve actually walked on many “backroads” in Poland myself haha. If they are anything like the unpaved back roads in many of the towns around Warsaw, you should be good. Just don’t take turns too fast and avoid deep gravel.

      I do agree. I think Ausom went backwards with the new model's. I just don't like we're Ausom is going. The DT1 and SR1 are rebrands. And Ausom should think about coming out with there own model's. That's just me.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They really should have added hydraulic coil spring suspension to both the DT1 Pro and SR1. At the very least rubber dampeners. Metal on metal contact drives me up the wall lol, especially after riding scooters like the Super Stellar and City Pro. Those rubber dampeners make a HUGE difference. I guess KuKirin and Roadrunner still sell their variants of the Gallop.
