    This is such a compelling scooter, and one that would definitely be on my short list as a first time scooter buyer.

      Yah I really like that it packs the punch that it does in a relatively small form factor.

      Thanks. Yah it’s good to see some of these things side by side. Lots of variability in size and weight.

    Thanks for posting the video. Like the review as stated previously I’m considering it as my 1st dual motor scooter. When I saw your best overall scooter & you mentioned the Apollo I wondered about this or even the Splach Thunder that seems more well equipped for the price which is equal to the punk pro.
    I really want to buy by new years

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yah the Punk Rider Pro is definitely faster, more torquey, and gets way better range than the Apollo GO, but it also weighs 18 lbs more. It really boils down to how much that extra 18lbs and more
      range matters to the rider. I’ve seen people return scooters because an extra 8-10 lbs was too much to carry up flights of stairs.
      I’d honestly be happy with either scooter as my “one” scooter, but for me, less weight and size is nice because it’s a bit easier to pack on trips and go into stores with.
      I haven’t tested the Splach Thunder but it looks like solid performance for the price. It’s does have a significantly lower IP dust and water resistance rating at IP54 vs the IPX6 you get with the Punk and IP66 you get with the GO. Those aren’t big deals for me because I live in the desert haha. If I lived in say the Pacific Northwest, I’d go with the higher water resistance level.

      Thanks very much for your input. It’s definitely appreciated and noted. I did notice that though I don’t think I would ever ride in rain or days with moisture on the ground, but the weight can definitely be a factor in commuting for me. That’s why I stopped considering the Ausum Gallop or the dt1 pro because of the weight.
      For me the splach is starting to favor the punk rider pro in the additional features like security nfc card, & air tag compartment in addition to the rear disc brakes, & better cockpit. Thus the punk rider pro seems like a more solid built especially the stem region looks beefier. Oh brother the decisions lol

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yah that’s a tough decision haha. I haven’t found a scooter that perfectly check all the boxes. I’d go with the one that checks the boxes that are important to you. Also, check for parts availability.

    As you can imagine, I really liked this video since I've got the Punk pro at the house now. I've not had mine apart so the details about how the bottom deck cover comes off were great. No creeks, rattles, clunks on mine yet and I've already gone through and thread locked the fender screws. I'm at about 120mi and I'm really enjoying it. It's my neighborhood night ride scooter. I definitely purchase this one because of your reviews. Thanks Tom!

      That’s awesome! It’s definitely a fun scooter. I’ve been riding it a bit more over the last several weeks. Rotating it in with the Cruiser V2 and Leopard DT1 Pro.
      After riding your Klima, I decided to try out the Nami brand by ordering their new Super Stellar. Should be here this weekend. Very excited haha.

    Tom, you do a great job of informing us. But I feel like the fear ppl have with flats, it be great for us to know what that process will be like on individual scooters. Are those split rims? Stuff like that. 😊

      Tom, did you ever take a gander at those rims? I'm so itching to get a Punk, but am finding it a pain to get info on that. I had an old dualtron that was literal murder to fix a basic flat.
      Thanks! Sorry to be a pain.

  • @tayw4090

    Torn between this and the emove cruiser v2 . I'm similar size as you. Range is important. You seem to like both, right now the punk is $400 less on their site.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey! So both are great options. Here’s a bit more detail that might be helpful. The Punk Rider Pro has faster acceleration and will have an advantage on very steep inclines given it’s got two motors. The Emove also climbs hills well (dual motor version will be even better), but for extremely steep grades, the Punk comes out on top. The Punk also has great ambient lighting for making yourself more visible at night.
      The Emove Cruiser V2 is bigger and heavier and more stable at top speed. Part of that has to do with its weight, but also because it has nice wide handlebars. It also got 11 miles more range in my tests. No app for the Emove, but you can still adjust all the settings in the P-settings menu. Its internal components are also very easy to access and the wiring is super clean. If you get the single motor, you can easily add a second motor in the future.

    • @tayw4090
      @tayw4090 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @tomsgadgetgarage really useful insight. I really appreciate the response! Patiently waiting your full review on the emove, but now rebel sounds more interesting, I'm not sure I like not having an app.

    Thanks Tom Great walk through! This is on my list of scooters to watch. I have a climber and live on a very hilly Island in the pacific northwest and it will climb everything we have. My mileage at 205# is about 18mi in drive at 15mph max and that's trying to be delicate with take offs (also its wet and 40° that doesn't help). Really need at least 20 and this scooter looks like it would make in comfort and without range stress. The cruiser s is also on the list and I will get to try one next week to see how it rides and climbs. I like the swept back bars, kick plate and build style of the punk rider though.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! Yah the Climber is an awesome little scooter. Mine made it up everything I threw at it haha. The Punk Rider Pro will climb even steeper hills. I’m curious to see how the Cruiser S handles your hills compared to the Climber. I’m currently testing out the Voro Motors Emove Cruiser V2 and it’s got pretty decent power for its size and weight. Not sure it’ll climb the super steep stuff though. I’m going to test that out in the next week or so though, so I’ll know soon enough haha. Cruiser S will definitely take any range anxiety away, that’s for sure.

    • @stevenray8022
      @stevenray8022 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tomsgadgetgarage I'll let you know how the cruiser S does up my hills here. We will be riding side by side and trading off scooters. Some of it's steep enough too slow the climber down to 7mph. It will be interesting to see if the s can make it.

    This is one sweet scooter. I do agree about the turn signals. They definitely need a stronger Amber color output or maybe a separation of the turn signals on a revised model. The 52V 18Amp battery reminds me of my son's Solar EQ. I should probably do a video on that one too. But feel bad putting miles on it since it belongs to my son 😅

  • @George_M_

    If I get one it'd be the non pro - note how every range test ever starts with "lets turn the torque down" - you really pay in range for high acceleration. Overall this one seems like a Ausom Leopard with some cheapskate shortcuts (namly the suspension). Guess it'll come down to which is on sale.

    How has your Ausom Gallop held up this year? Any issues? Mine works perfectly but when I power it on in the lower right corner of the display it flashes 5 - 06 for a second. Not sure what it means lol

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      So far so good! My 67 year old dad has been using it for the last couple months and he’s been riding that thing all over the place doing power slides haha. The only issue I ran into was a hydraulic fluid leak from the rear brake. The line may have snagged on something when moving it around in the garage. Quick fix with a brake bleed kit off of Amazon.
      I’ve seen the same 5-06 before. Not too sure what that is. I know sometimes Ausom scooter can show an error if holding the brake while powering it on.
