The ULTIMATE Ceramic Wax TEST! I’ve Been Using It Wrong All This Time!!
I used a generic ceramic wax and put it through a series of tests to see whether preparing the paint for wax was firstly necessary and, secondly what if I used a glaze or polish beforehand, would it benefit the longevity of the wax or cause it to prematurely fail.
5 separate panel sections of my scrap test panel were taped off and after cleaning the panel, one section was left ‘bare’ to apply the wax, the next section was decontaminated using a clay sponge from Angelwax and Garage Therapy Zero Decon Shampoo.
The next panel was left intentionally bare so that the wax performance could be measured , next to that I used a glaze before applying the wax, next to that I used a hand polish with fillers, and finally a Quick Detail spray was used to create slickness then waxed over to see if the wax would have any problems bonding, I was shocked at the results!!

    Ever since ur last test with these i did my own test of BSD vs Parla and had the same results. Parla can take way more of a beating than BSD. Now, BSD is not a bad product AT ALL! ;)

      That’s brilliant to know as results can vary depending on location with washing frequencies and quality of water etc so thanks for the info 👍👍

      @@GMDetails haha i found my twin then. I like to experiment also. Even combining different products. 2 weeks ago i combined parla and BSD in a bottle and it gave clotts 🙈. Just to say, i experiment also. For now fusso coat+bsd on every wash got my girlfriends car almost a good 10 months protection before the lower doors started to get hit. Yesterday i applied fusso coat on mine and im gonna do a test with parla after every wash now. 🤓 Every few weeks i order a few new products which i think is good and try them. Last one was Bilt Hamber speed wax. Not bad but i found it annoying that the wax “sweats”. Also Soft 99 the glaco for on the mirrors does an amazing job for my rear view camera which is exposed. On the mirrors it gives a slight smoky tint, but for the camera its perfect. Yesterday tried also the compound of soft 99 before fusso and it was superbe also. Even did the windows with it and i was pleasently surprised.

      I’ll need to check my bottle as I don’t remember it saying it’s 25ml to 200ml dilution 🤔 25ml in the 500ml solution is 19-1 dilution and stronger than Autoglanz recommends to start at 25-1 but due to the level of dirt but it keeps the balance between the two products exactly the same (or as best as I could) Thanks for watching 👌

      They do increase pressure over the OEM lance that Karcher supply , for me though it’s more about the right size of orifice for the flow rate of the pressure washer to maximise its potential so I now have moved up to 040 sized nozzles for my new K5 compact. I hope that answers your question 👍

      Good question, yes they ‘can’ but pressure isn’t necessarily a good thing, it is for cleaning stone and algae off wood etc but for cleaning cars it’s best that the water flows quicker to protect the paint. But they certainly provide better pressure than the standard Karcher lance

    You sure got interesting results. I use a one year ceramic coating but that leaves me missing my regular waxing therapy. So I use Car Chem Sapphire Wax over the coating to maintain it, probably ever six weeks That wax is so easy to work with and although it states the usual "out of direct sunlight" I tried it in the sun and it works just as well. It's a leap of faith, as with any product, to say that the protection is there but it beads all year long. Gotta say though, I really enjoyed your test.

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are many reasons why a pre rinse is necessary , cool the panel down on a warm day, removing the crusty top layer of dirt /sand deposits so the foam has a better chance to work on the traffic film, whichever method works for the conditions I say 👍

  • @HantsLeo
    @HantsLeo หลายเดือนก่อน

    It was interesting that Cherry glaze didn't do it's job! My theory is that the solvents in the wax dissolve whatever is already on the panel and the two mix. The only way I can see around this is to use either a tried and tested combination or to use two products from the same manufacture in the hope they have taken this into account. Thankyou for a good insight.

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahhh yeah that’s a real possibility, maybe I should have left the glaze for longer to harden before applying the wax or do you think that wouldn’t make much difference if the solvents are going to remove it anyway 🤔 That must be why I’ve had such good results with Monstershine Gloss Lock and Ceramic Wax , same sort of ingredients from the same brand 👌

      Thank you Martin!, I get more enjoyment from knowing someone has taken something useful from the video, with more and more new channels popping up only interested in smells rather than how stuff works I enjoy trying new techniques rather than promoting the latest crap.

    Fantastic video Graeme as always, well done for putting this out as I've never seen anyone do something similar. Wow, you just don't realise how to prep a panel for waxing but like you've clearly demonstrated its up to the end user to find something that works for them. I personally found using Monstershine Glosslock glaze under their Dominator Hybrid wax was so easy and has produced fantastic results. Now having bought 3 ceramic waxes (2x EZ Care care and 1x Monstershine) to play with I'm definitely going to use 3 of your methods for each one of them. I absolutely loved the proverb at the end and this man will certainly try and have fun experimenting.

    Bit late with comments on this Graeme, but these 2 products for me and superb. I used Touchless as a pre wash for the first time today and it removed every bit of dirt. Touch On also a decent product but not my favourite. Oh and I definitely got the lip reading 😂

    The grainy finish isn't the deal breaker. If you place an order for any products from EZ Car care you are likely to wait 3-4 weeks for delivery for products that are average at best compared to the Bilt hambers and Autoglyms of this country.

    Im using K7 i dont how come when im connecting pressure tips on short gun machine is jerking like pressure is cutting off in 3s then restart but while im same gun with foam lance or underbody lance its working perfectly I changed the hose but still same issue

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah it sounds as though your pressure tips are too small an aperture for the K7 I’d suggest an 040 size like these www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CZ45Y6C8/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_1YJNVTSQ069G7ZSQJT1R?linkCode=ml2&tag=gmdetails-21

      I’ve just gone and tried it with the K7 with a smaller oriface and it pulses so it’s def the nozzles that are not right on your gun

    • @GMDetails
