  • In this video I’m cleaning this filthy suv , clearing out the grime from hidden places and reviewing Wowo’s Automotive Detailing car cleaning products, will they perform as good as they look?, Is it all looks & no substance?, watch the video and enjoy!
This is part one of a series of videos I’m doing from Wowo’s Automotive Detailing, a brand I’ve wanted to try out for a number of years and finally get the chance to use the products, I’m really excited to get using them.
The products in the video were sent free of charge by Wowo’s to see what I thought of them, it’s not a paid advert or a promotion on their behalf and the video review is based on my own opinions on the products, it is GENUINELY my OWN opinion.
Wowo’s is a car detailing brand established in Scotland back in 2013, expanded rapidly with the help of The Rag Co in 2019 to distribute the brand across the USA but sadly the brand folded but now IT’s BACK!!
New Owners and a new location , still based in Scotland so I’m really excited to be bringing a series of videos to you showing you the features and benefits of the products , as well as some of the downfalls.
That’s what a true review is all about!!

Great review, always enjoy your videos. I was at my parents house and delete to suprise my Dad by washing his van. Anyhow in his garage was 5 litres of Holt's shampoo that I expect he paid peanuts for that has the same sort of dilution rate as that one. Also I think your right, the wash mit probably does more cleaning than most shampoos, just through the scrubbing action. Very true on snowfoam as well, I've used various ones and it seems to me only bilt hamber really shifts any grime. I find it very therapeutic to use but you get far better cleaning off a citrus.

I’m sure I’ve seen reviews saying this is one of the best shampoos about but not heard the dilution ratios mentioned before. 2 or 3 washes from a bottle if you follow those instructions is pretty poor isn’t it. And have to agree on the RTU wheel cleaner and APC it’s not going to last long and work out expensive so not for me.

The bottles do need the labels updated but as the new owner has taken on board all the old stock then labels won’t change till this lot is sold out, so next week I use them as I would normally for a maintenance clean, then I’ll give my thoughts on the first 5 I’ve used so far, thanks for being always one of the first to watch Nick, appreciated as always mate 👍

  • @wills_details

Nice one again Graeme 👍. Don't know about car shampoos don't have cleaning power though. They are designed to work with a sponge or mitt. Not as a stand alone. I see it in a simple way like using a handsoap. Using just water won't clean your hands properly. Using a decent soap will. Off course you'll need some agitation and with a car that will come from the mitt.
Same with dishwashing soap. Try doing the dishes without the soap. It will be a pain in the ****.
Every cleaning action has a circle. Time, temperature, mechanical energy and chemical energy. Up one and you can reduce on another.
So you can take out the shampoo (chemical) but you'll have to up something else from that circle. Don't know if you want that.
I also can't imagine that all these manufacturers put so much effort in designing a shampoo that doesn't do anymore than just providing a lubricant.
Well that's my thoughts about this topic.
Maybe there is a way to start testing this topic. Will make a nice video.😃

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ahhh but dishwashers use a soap without contact agitation , only water 😅 but yeah it was just something I was triggered by people saying ‘great cleaning power’ when they’re talking about the mitt 🤣
Even taking out the shampoo will clean your car but it’ll be scratched to hell 🥴

    • @wills_details
      @wills_details ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@GMDetails 😂 will scratch for sure. The mechanical energy with a dishwasher is provided by the jets. Do the dishes by hand and it is provided by the brush/sponge.
With a car it's the comination between the pressure washer and after that your mitt.
I find it interesting and maybe a chance to do a video about the difference between car shampoos.
If I'm not mistaking you are in a way close to the guys from Garage Therapy. I bet they can explain which ingredients they use in their shampoo to get that cleaning power. Talking about cleaning power and Garage Therapy, their decon shampoo really has got some power to it. Will even remove old protection from your car😃👍

Another cracker as always. Iv lost my love for detailing and the social media side lately as you know we've discussed but your videos always pull me back in. Honest, detailed reviewed with all aspects covered as usual. Topped off with great editing. As far as the brand goes it really seems to have a solid base there but so many missed opportunities like the instructions on the bottles and the website. Each to there own but I also think the whole branding is dated as well. Looking forward to the second video too. 👍

The branding was redesigned by The Rag Co in 2019 I believe or at least had a hand in the redesign, previous to that they were using those little finger triggers that just make you angry 🤣 so some improving was done.

Good introduction to the brand, I used to use ready to go products all the time but now the more I learn from you & others the less I use them the more I look at dilutions and even (the head-scratching) PIR. You nearly killed me with laughing when you produced a commercial wheel 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I mean you and I both know that was a puddle jumper not a truck wheel, 316/65 R22.5 that's what I'm riding on!!!!!!
Snowfoams are a bit of a marmite thing, I mean take our friend Martin@ocd, if it can't clean like it says on the bottle then bye bye 👋 👋. Its the same with all products I suppose really, if they say they can tackle heavy grime/traffic film etc then I and others would expect it to do a decent job, not perfect because as you said it's part of the whole process. Can't wait for part 2 though, keep up the good work.

I used WoWo's quite regularly a few years ago and found their customer service was brilliant & then it changed. No answer on the phone and no returned calls so I didn't go back but I must say that the wheel cleaner was brilliant. I had recently bought a Land Rover and the alloy barrels had a yellow sheen on them that no cleaner was shifting. When i explained this to the guys they explained that the chemical had all the characteristics of an acid but was not acidic. The yellow tinge was no more after one use. It will be interesting to see what you think of the other products in the range. I think I have used them all. They seemed a little pricey if I remember but they did seem to have regular special offers maybe this is still the case.

New owner now John, last guy Fraser was a complete tw*t, too busy seeing where his next £££ were coming from & failing 😅
Yeah I wanted to show what the wheel cleaner was capable of as it’s completely different to any other being alcohol based , very innovative and extremely effective but not for a regular clean, a wheel shampoo would certainly compliment the range there!!
They recently did a 50% off the entire range sale at Black Friday but there’s a trap not to fall into selling at vast discounts like EZ car care , it only works for them as they shift huge volumes of product.
Spoiler alert the pink unbranded bottle on the video not used yet is their original QD and so far , that has been my absolute favourite product I’ve tried , I’m really looking forward to trying the Crystal sealant too! Certainly lots more to come from wowo’s here 👍

Awesome video mate as usual! I've had the same thought myself on whether a shampoo cleans the paint. I have always been adament that the mechanical abrasion is what really does it and the shampoo is to add slickness and uncapsulate the dirt to avoid scratching. However I am sure now that shampoo does carry cleaning properties along with it. It's something I guess we will never know. 🤣🤣 (Sean) I've changed my name on here lol

Great video mate. I’m local to WoWos and thought about trying their products but think I’ll stick with my go to brands for now. On the shampoo/mitt point - can see the logic behind the theory but that’s like saying it’s hands that clean your hair and not shampoo - think it has to be a combo of good cleaning power in a shampoo and agitation by a good quality mitt.

  • @thedetailinghobbyist

I’ve had the same thoughts regarding shampoo and came to the conclusion that it’s the mitt/pad that is going to make the biggest difference.
The shampoo should be slick and help capture the lifted dirt but I don’t think they necessarily have their own cleaning power.
If I used any shampoo, with kitchen paper as the contact medium on the car it would still take the dirt off
