Morning Irene, wow you've moved quite a bit further south! Norfolk is beautiful, we especially enjoyed it in winter weirdly enough. The skies are unbelievable. That sounds a good deal for a campsite. A good thing too, considering how hard it is to park in Norfolk 😂 50 years of caravanning and still loads to see, that says it all doesn't it! How lovely they've been doing that for so long. It does seem like you get a buzz for life with this kind of travel. Strength training is definitely important to use some muscles as we age, that's why I wanted to balance out the running a bit, and we keep telling my mum to do some very minor lifts/stretches too to keep things functioning. I'm not sure she listens mind 😂 Hope you have a great time in Norfolk and get some decent weather up there, take care ❤️

@@comealongdear 👍 I follow exercise routines on TH-cam which. I really enjoy them “Improved health for seniors” (I’m 73) - she does such varied routines including strength training. I can really recommend them. Have a good day both of you - wherever you are, we’re just off to a vets as one of the dogs has had diarrhoea for two days and was sick this morning ☹️. Stay well ❤️❤️

Oh that's brilliant news, how exciting 😍 We remember that feeling well of getting our van, not knowing the future and just driving around to our hearts content originally (until we then quickly had to figure out work etc 😂). Good Morning 🌞 Although more ☔️ I should think today. I hope Storm Ashley passed you by okay. I assume that it has anyway, I must admit we haven't paid close attention to the weather lately, but that would explain the terrible wind and rain we found ourselves walking in yesterday I suppose 😂🙈 I hope despite this you manage to have a good time up there! Thank you so much for your encouraging words, that was very heartwarming to read, and we're just pleased if our videos bring any form of pleasure to people's lives ❤️ I think I (Dan) especially would feel a bit lost if I stopped making them! Yes the sat nav never seems to consider that a smaller road will inevitably be slower and more difficult, I have to keep a close eye out now when Stephen's driving, and I nearly always have to change it as we go. Still get caught out though, like in this video 😂 Hmm half marathon, perhaps, I think Stephen would like to eventually! Thank you again and hopefully you continue to enjoy whatever videos are to come 😁❤️

Well at least in this instance, people would think it was the wind so you'd get away with it, food for thought in future storms 😂 Glad that bit gave you a laugh 😃 watching a film cuddled up is not very practical with our current set up 😂 Have fun at Loch Ness. Morning Paul, thank you for those kind words, that's very sweet of you and I do appreciate it ❤️ Neither of us feel pressured to change much though, just a general fitness thing. The weights have gone back to sleep recently as it goes 😂🙈 Hmm, Broadstairs. I think there is a car park behind the town somewhere you might be able to fit in, or one outside of Broadstairs a little further along the coast, at Joss Bay, that allows motorhomes (I don't know how big the spaces are though). I think both are about £11 for 24 hours or a night, not sure. It is generally quite hard around this area. Because we are so small, we usually park ours in a regular car park or on the road outside my mum's if we're lucky, and stay with her a few days (not that she has the room, but she enjoys us being there and of course we love to see her). There's probably some campsite options, too. And you can easily jump on The Loop bus which runs constantly between Ramsgate/Broadstairs/Margate so you can visit all 3. The places I mentioned are on park4night, so perhaps have a look and google satellite view the areas to see what you think or if they're big enough. We were in Broadstairs yesterday, I would have checked out that car park for you if I'd known 🙂 We might drive by the Joss Bay one later, if we do I'll let you know. Morning Ilona, aaah I really wanted to go to Portmeirion, but I must admit, we were both a bit taken aback by the £20 each price, as we couldn't really work out what that got you and how much there was to see exactly. It does look very pretty though. It just seemed an awful lot. However, there is a campsite there that costs about £55 a night with all services, BUT it gets you two tickets into Portmeirion. So still a lot, but it means a campsite stay is about 15 quid, so one day we might go back and try it that way. Yes, the weather is playing its "throw random dart blindfolded" routine again, it varies a great deal. We walked with my mum into Broadstairs yesterday from Ramsgate in gale force winds and rain, so that was an experience 🙈😂 Take care and have a lovely week, hope you get some dry days ❤️

Yes, that must be absolutely awful to be so loaded you can do as you please every day of the year 😂 But you know, we'd like to try it, just so we can see, for research and comparison purposes 😉 Work went well thank you, and we do like the fact we can slow down to earn some pennies, it makes us appreciate our travels more. Whether this job lasts beyond next year is another matter 🙈🫤 Hope you are well down there!

@@comealongdear Yes doing ok thankyou, now that I have a new supply of melatonin. I dont have any trouble getting to sleep but sometimes staying asleep can be an issue. If you have have that problem I buy mine from iherb, its called Natrol Melatonin 5mg. We cant buy it here 🤷‍♂but iHerb can send it from USA. Its a naturally occuring chemical that we sometimes lack. Oh yes I do buy a lot of lottery tickets hoping to become rich enough to get the bucket list sorted. I hope it happens before I am too old, death is more likely than riches. lol Best wishes to you both.

We keep on dreaming don't we, we buy those lottery tickets too, that might be what's needed to extend this long-term van jaunt of ours 😂 (though, of course, we appreciate we are lucky to have managed to do any of this at all). Ah melatonin, yes I suspect that would help a lot. Staying asleep is more the issue I (Dan) have, too, though lately it's been OK. Depending how worried/anxious I am affects it more I find. It seems you can't buy it here either, but you can get it on prescription. Not sure why - you can buy various over the counter sleeping pills, but not melatonin apparently 🤷‍♂️ Is it helping you stay asleep then? That's great if so and obviously what you needed I guess 😁 Take care and have a good week the other side of this world ❤️

@@comealongdear Older mans bladder and a cat who prefers being outdoors at night and likes wandering in for biscuits every few hours with the occasional prrrrow as he passes my pillow make for interrupted sleeping. I thought you might have fitful sleep in laybys with all the dogging noises.🐕Americans are generally drugged to the gills it seems, so melatonin is just candy to them. I take a small does lyrica for nerve pain from shingles and no alcohol but some quality chocolate. Boring old bugger hey, takes all types. 🥂

Quality chocolate sounds just as good as alcohol, without the hangover to boot 😉 I have, since I was young as far as I remember, nearly always had a weak bladder that rings its alarm several times in the night. Might just be normal for me, but I do wonder if it will cause problems later on down the line. Hopefully the melatonin allows for a more restful night more regularly at least, despite the cat's attempt at otherwise. Laybys are surprisingly boring here with not too much of that going on 😂 Usually deserted, maybe the odd trucker or van. There are a few, mind, and it's certain car parks that really see the action. Maybe we'll do a video on it one day 😂

It's not always easy to tell 😂😉 We try not to pressure ourselves, as you say there is other things we can film inside the van, or perhaps it might be nicer to give one place a bigger focus rather than squeezing so much into one video. We rarely know what it's going to be until we decide what to do/where to go, usually the day before, so content will vary, and we just hope that people get something out of watching it 🙏 Thank you as always and have a good week ❤️

And that's very kind of you to say about our bodies 🙏 Honestly though, since this video, the weights have barely been touched, again 😂 We go to work, so then we don't or can't do it there, we visit family, so we don't do it there. But, once we're out exploring again properly, I think they'll see more use. You're right though, Stephen definitely has the type of physique to bulk up - I'm not sure my body will ever look vastly different because I'm fairly tall and lanky 😂 But it does wake up some muscles that otherwise don't really get used, so it'll probably be a good thing to bring out the weights every so often. I'm pleased you enjoy the little talking moments- as you say, it's not realistic to be out filming our exploring all the time, so we try to show our life inside the van, too. Yes, the parking does often feel like a way to just deter people altogether sometimes! Even down the seafront, there were actually 3 to 4 motorhome spots. Great! A tenner - okay, fine - but no overnight allowed. That seems...odd, to have camper spots, charge a tenner to be there for a day, but then not allow stopovers in that spot. However, I think in Aberystwyth's case it feels too busy and the streets too narrow to cope with it all. We didn't know that until we were there, but it's why we probably wouldn't return in a van again. I'm sure you can't wait for these UK delights again 😂🙈 Of course we cope fine and always manage, but for you guys it's always going to be a shock after Spain etc. Hopefully you have somewhere to park Persie when you do come back? Do you know when you'll definitely be back here? Apparently the smallest city in the world is a place called Hum in Croatia. But even the Vatican is smaller than St David's by population apparently. Still, it was most bizarre being in what felt like a Welsh village that's actually a city. Worth it for the novelty I suppose, but the coast nearby is its real strengths and only a short walk from St David's. Take care both safe travels ❤️🤟

@@comealongdear we are currently sat at Calais port waiting to board the ferry, never realised how much cheaper the ferry was compared to the tunnel. As for parking, we will spend a lot of time camped on friends and families driveways, but we are hoping to get out and about a little (including us having another meetup 😁). That'll be the test for us as yes, we are spoiled in Spain for options.

Had no idea the ferry was cheaper either, the only reason we've picked that before is because it seems more fun and like you're properly going on holiday rather than the bland confines of a dark tunnel. Hope it all goes smoothly! Best thing about the ferry for us is if you get the right ticket, you can board earlier ferries if you arrive at the port too soon. Are you driving up to...I want to say Norfolk, but not sure? After you arrive in the UK? We are currently spending time with some family down here in Kent and others we haven't seen for a while so we've been busy, not out in the van at all since we finished work. We've been waiting to hear about future work for the rest of this year before we made any plans, however it seems we have a gap of a few weeks, so the plan is going to be to head abroad again next week I think! We weren't expecting it so soon but, especially as we don't know how long we'll get to do this for, we want to make the most of it. I was hoping the stars would align and we could crossover at the port or similar (or, if we were staying in the UK, we'd just drive up to Norfolk area perhaps), but I think after this family time we'll be heading straight to the ferry to make the best of the time we've got before we go back to work again. So it seems unlikely to work out this time, but you never know, we could cross paths on mainland Europe 🤞 Have a safe journey both much love to you ❤️ 🤟

Hello, well believe it or not, we don't mind a dive bar, sometimes they're the best ones 😉😂 It was quiet and late afternoon/early evening so no bother at all. It would've been nice to give other places a go, but as always there's just not enough time. We were very lucky to get onto the seafront, it was a gorgeous spot. I bet you've seen some wonderful sunsets and equally dramatic storms in the past in Aberystwyth! ❤️

@@comealongdear definitely lively on the seafront in winter! If you’re this way again, try heading a few miles out of town to Devils bridge, very nice walks down to the falls and the historic bridge, especially in out of season months.
