    Howdy Guys!! Drink your beverages where ever you like!! They just help to relax the soul & makes it more fun to snuggle up!!!! Inflation is a pain, the price goes up & the quantity always gets smaller!! What does it take to make the two of you have a big belly laugh? I think you guys must have some really silly times with great laughter! Big bear hugs from Kenny in Ohio USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Howdy Kenny! ❤️ You're absolutely right, there's something unbelievably relaxing and care free about lying down with a drink. Which is great, because we don't have many alternatives in this van 😂
      We laugh at any old thing, made up silly stuff usually, but we can find humour in (almost) anything which helps lighten the day (on a good day 😉). Big hugs and thanks for watching Kenny 😍

    🇨🇦 clams are one of my favorites. Great in Chowder. I enjoy them battered and deep fried. Most of our fish and chip shops do them as a menu option.

      Oh really, never seen that in a fish and chip shop, will have to look out it! Of course stupidly I forgot we did have them in Portugal I think it was, in a seafood stew, but generally I don't think we have. Thanks for watching 👍 😁

    in the estuary where i live, we have a water taxi you can phone. if you are near a marina, the moorings in the sea or estuary are cheaper and the marina staff drop you off - tricky in bad weather, but you cam still use marina births to load and refuel.

    Don’t you dare take Stephen’s weekly chip review away from him. There are chippies all over the uk that are needing to be trounced by Stevie. It is his calling. Chippies should sponsor your weekly reviews. Great vlog as always. ❤️🥂xx

    It's Devon. The weather can change hour by hour. We holidayed here in our camper for years and moved down from Wales 4 years ago. There is so much to see and do here. All those boats are paying the Earl of devon to stay there. We always made a flask of coffee and took our own butties when setting out walking. Cofton Dawlish is a great (but not cheap) site just stay at the top away from the kids play area. Happy Camping!

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, thanks for watching and commenting ❤️ Don't blame you for moving there, we'd love to live somewhere like Devon if we ever could.
      Interesting about the boats, thanks for that. We did think fees would be involved to keep them there. I imagine "parking" in the marina is a lot more.
      Taking a drink and packed lunch is the best way to do these things, not just to save money but because it feels like a proper day out, almost like being a kid again. Great fun and kind of comforting, too.
      Thanks for the site suggestion, we've stayed on really expensive ones before, it's okay if the location is worth it 👍

    Keep the chips review as I like to compare 🤣 I went to Exmouth years ago when Lucy was little but we stayed at the Haven site outside the town. You are right though - it's great to have places that allow us to park up (for those who are happy to pay) where we don't feel like we have to hide. Do you reckon I could park my van up or is it more a park up for smaller vans? Another cracking vlog!

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pretty sure the chips will be staying 😂 We're out of the UK now so Stephen will be refreshed by the time we come back to launch a full assault on fish and chips across the country 😂
      I think we wouldn't necessarily find that a good price if it was a random car park nowhere exciting, but we'll definitely take it for a beach park up!
      So I think you might be a bit long for where we were parked, but there were motorhomes who squeezed in there, I think if you can get a spot where you can overhang at the back you'd be fine. However there is a much bigger car park around the corner (same price, £11 for 24 hours) where bigger motorhomes can fit no problem! 😁

    As you know we struggled with the cost and availability of services for campers and motorhomes when we last visited the UK. It's crazy that paying £11 for parking is now considered a bargain, especially when we are watching this while sitting in Portugal in a free Parkup with free water, free services and free electricity.
    Clams, I think we like them, but honestly can't remember the last time we saw them on a menu or in a supermarket. Going to have to hunt some down now!
    The beach was lovely and nice to see you enjoying nice weather.
    Anyway, hope you are enjoying your latest adventure on the road to Eurovision, much love Darren & Alison 🤟♥️

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey guys! Haha yes we did think that funnily enough, that's it a bit absurd how we're glad of something despite it just being a car park 😂 But in fairness it was mostly for location, we definitely would question it more in a random town perhaps, although we have paid that before too, probably many times now.
      Definitely envy you with those free aires and services on tap, however now we're back on the continent briefly, boy are we glad to see them again 😍
      As Stephen said (I think) we had clams when we were last in Europe, but in a stew, don't think we've ever tried them on their own though.
      We're on our way to Sweden now, it's just been a case of get from point A to B to C so far, so any exploring is on hold (which means this next video is going to be dreadfully dull I think 😂), I feel like the adventure will truly begin when we arrive ❤️
      Much love and enjoy Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤️ 🤟

    We camp there regular living only 20 miles away
    Only ever paid £8.10 for 24 hours on the parking app. Which i think is why its so popular. Have to occasionally put up with noisy boy racers . Disgusting prices for the beer. But nice location and variety of things to do.
    If your up for a nice walk. Walk along the coast path to Sidmouth along coastal path and then catch a bus back ATB Pete

    Why are there free aires in France but not the UK? Maybe you do a mashup of chip reviews? Tada. I like the way you do the attractions, humorous and truthful. Could you, unlike so many other uploaders on all the usual platforms consider continuity, you know when you are recording it but many times I am confused. Some of the posts are up to date on IG and weeks or months behind on YT. Am I being silly to ask for record dates somewhere on screen or am I missing the whole casual vibe thingy. There ya go Steve, how's that for a moan. 🤪😄

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We'll take that as less of a moan and more of a...very specific request 😂 Well, I think the reason it's out of sync quite often, is because Instagram is a fairly quick process so it's easier to stay up to date (but granted we're not always on there either, and I regularly upload things later than they happen), whereas TH-cam takes a hell of a lot longer. We can only justify editing one video a week time wise, however we might film 2 or even 3 of those in a week sometimes, meaning they're spaced out across several Sundays. The reason we do that is due to our work - I can edit there but we definitely can't film, so we have to "stock up" on footage. In the summer, we'll be doing 5 weeks in a row, so you can imagine how many videos we'll have to have in the can in order to keep releasing them every Sunday.
      I do understand the confusion however and we'll try to do our best to explain where we're at a bit better in future at the start of each video (although don't expect it on next week's as that's already all over the place 😬🤦‍♂️)
      As for mash up of chip reviews...dear god no, I don't think either of us could take it 😂 Oh wait, mash...okay I see what you did there. I was a bit slow to bake with that one 🤪

    • @tomcat7525
      @tomcat7525 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@comealongdear Now come along dear, I just asked of you could put the approximate date of filming on the videos so I can follow the thread a bit easier, I understand that could be a security issue ( papps hounding you and all that ) but some continuity does make life a little less confusing than it presently is for this baby boomer, ok for you millennials. 🥸

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh don't worry I knew what you meant, I just like to over explain and it lead me onto our work situation and how it affects things etc etc.
      I don't think it would be a security issue, since it would always be in the past by the time it's uploaded. What we could do is put the date in the video description, and have a date pop up on screen when the video starts or we arrive at a place, that will probably help 😁

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, I believe in life after love. Good god I hope that's not wrong too.
      It's just our thoughts and experiences to be fair, we are not presenting as fact unless we know it to be. Referring specifically to shellfish stalls as I was - we personally find that you don't see razor clams or regular clams on them that often at all. Fishmongers more so perhaps, but even in those I don't think it's guaranteed.
      As for Morrisons allowing motorhomes with an app, we have never ever heard of this and I'd be shocked if most of them allow overnight stays regularly. We will look into it. Thanks for the tip

      @xt7190 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@comealongdear Pretty sure I never mentioned "life after love", love. I appreciate you're not presenting as facts that's why I wrote Beliefs. I'm merely saying that I think your beliefs are wrong because in the Devon seaside town I live in there is two shellfish stalls, both sell pickled clams, but all clams are cooked if eaten fresh so they won't be on ready to eat stalls but in fishmongers.

      @@xt7190 with respect, it just sounded with you quote marking "believes" a little sarcastic to us is all. Apologies if I've misinterpreted that.
      With clams, obviously pickled clams are different, but I can't say we've noticed them either, only cockles. Along with cooked whelks and mussels which you always find on shellfish stalls (and occasionally winkles) - never cooked clams sold this way. That's really all I meant and sounds like that's true anyway from you're saying. We have frequented many, but will keep an eye out in fishmongers (which are not very frequent now we find)

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds like a rarity then, rather than Morissons in general allowing overnight stays, but that's nice it exists there. I say shocked because most supermarkets absolutely do not allow it - and we've travelled around lots and never seen it. So it would be shocking to us if this was actually a thing and somehow we'd missed! Good to know occasionally stores do allow it however
