    We're so happy to see you back! Stephen looks amazing. Congrats on losing those pounds; you've truly done an exceptional job! ❤ Just be yourself when you're on camera, Dan 😊 and try to take it easy. You're doing a fantastic job, and we appreciate you for who you are. A video of you relaxing in the van would be lovely too. Don't feel pressured to always be busy. Hey Paul, thank you, I do appreciate your words of reassurance 🙏😍 You're right there's not always a need to be busy to film things - casual day to day stuff can work too. I'm just a bit highly strung at times 😂🙈

      Ah thank you so much Marcus, that's really kind of you to say ❤️ Sometimes it just doesn't feel right or comfortable filming but I probably think those feelings comes across more than they do (Stephen usually says it's fine, I should probably listen more to him!). In this instance I think we just felt a bit rusty is all. Thanks again ❤️🙏

    Glad to hear Stephen is running, but doing so carefully and healthily and not busting a gut by going hell for leather. You both do a fair bit of walking as it is, which is great for cardio and bone density. I'm walking almost every day, or doing a workout in living room.

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes he's definitely pacing it well by not burning out, which could kill the momentum. That said, he did a 5k the other day, then had lunch and ran a 10k! Which is brilliant but he has to be careful not to overdo it. Well done on the walking and workouts, they will be helping you for sure 👍

We do love a rum, or a bourbon 😁 Always great to settle down somewhere with a glass or several of that while parking the van in new places. Good to have you back! Looking good too! You all (Daisy included) seem to have had a successful makeover. 🥳 I wish I had the mindset (and ankles) to run, it sure does look refreshing. Splendid and candid video once again. Absolutely love it, and applaud Stephen's and your mindsets to actually go "eff it" when the spark just isn't there. Same here and no shame about it.
    Been away all day riding a stream train and going to a seasonal farmers' market enjoying the day. Not particularly enjoying the noticeably shorter days though. Ugh! Looking vey much forward to seeing some of Wales!
    Cheers from Skåne!

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Greetings! 🤗 Thank you for the lovely compliment, Daisy's had a few stickers casually slapped on the wall, but we do think it's brightened her no end. Now watch us take a year to finish the other side 🙈 Running is definitely partly in the mind, it seems overwhelming but start slow and it could become something you like. That said, I do understand the physical body makes it harder sometimes! I (Dan) have knee pains that make me wonder if it's doing me any good 😂🤦‍♂️
      We knew we weren't feeling certain parts of the filming that day. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat, it can't be forced even if it is just us casually strolling around. Sometimes the camera is not your friend 😂 Still, we got used to it again in the end.
      A steam train and a farmers' market in one day? This sounds like a fabulous place to be 😍 We love a good market, especially food ones.
      We were just saying how short the days now seem! And then clocks go back end of October and that's that...do they do that in Sweden with the clocks? We've had a bout of typically British wet weather this weekend which has made it seem like autumn very quickly.
      Wales, however, has been beautiful and we look forward to sharing it with you!
      Take care in Skåne! ❤️🤗

      @@comealongdear a year will be worth the wait. 🤪 I might have to check out some decent shoes first before I even try trotting through the village, but as the days grow sorter and colder the enthusiasm will be in the negatives from where it started. 😂 I won't chalk it up to defeat (or even de feet) but as something not meant to be, at least for now. Forcing things rarely turn out well, unless it's opening a jar of pickles...
      We also celebrate "Cher Day" and turn back the clocks one hour on October 27, but I wish they would settle for not changning back and forth. It messes too much with too many minds for too long. There was even a vote to scrap it with a resounding YES in favor, but they scrapped the results instead... 💩 On Dec 21 things will turn for brighter time again. I can't wait.

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I probably shouldn't laugh at them scrapping the results, maybe it's the way you wrote it, but that did make me chuckle. Why did they even bother? 😂
      Really interesting that people voted for that, I'm not sure if we've ever had that vote here, and I couldn't guess what people would vote for. I always thought it was for farmers primarily, although apparently it was supposed to benefit us all. It does feel unnatural either way and I suspect Sweden notices the effects more than the UK as a whole.
      Forcing anything except perhaps the pickle jar as you say, or a slice of cake, is never a good thing, running is definitely not for everyone and you'd only feel miserable if you didn't want to do it. I do swear by decent-ish shoes though. I'm a believer you can mostly run in any old tat, a string vest if you like, but comfortable running shoes feels like a must!

    • @AbsolutePernilla
      @AbsolutePernilla 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@comealongdear it is funny. If I remember correctly it was even a EU poll... which doesn't help anyway. I may be wrong but I think daylight savings stems from the farming year and farmers needing more hands in the fields and be able to get more work done like you said, but then it seems silly because there are not more hours in a day because you get up earlier. I really don't get it. I prefer normal time I think. One more hour of sleep will be nice though. 🤪
      The winter in Skåne can be darker even if the days are slightly longer mainy because we don't always get a lot of snow. But when it does fall it has a real brightening-up-effect. The down side here with the road are black ice. That can be very treacherous. Enjoy your week! 🥰

    It sounds like an air bubble in your gas line. Stephen's idea of using it up is what you have to do. Once the air is out, when it won't light, you should be able to fill up your tank.
    I have a 500 lb. tank for my house, and I've had air bubbles that make things not work.
    Congrats, Stephen on the weight loss. I have to do that myself, but I am a couch potato. It's hard to get motivated.
    I would just water a remote tree with my wee. Take some water to rinse out the pee bottle and give the tree that, too.
    Cheers.

      @comealongdear  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Jon, thanks so much for that info, we're really hoping that will be the case...as of yet though, we still haven't run out. It must be close now. The pumps in Wales seem ever so slightly different to what we've been used to as well.
      He's done really well with the weight loss and exercise, it's not easy after months of not doing any of that (except our walks). It's just getting to that first hurdle and starting slow.
      We definitely agree with the pee, but we'd hate the thought of anyone seeing that and it leading to park up closures. You are right though, it would make sense and plants really do love it 🤷‍♂️

      Good evening, and thank you ❤️ I don't know too much about Buck House charges, but I do find instances like the one in the video to be a bit suspect. The family owns so so much that if they really can't afford to keep a green space open freely to the public, maybe don't have so many properties and assets 😂🤷‍♂️ I don't know, I'm sure there's lots of sides to it, but green spaces and parks feel increasingly precious and seeing them taken away or put behind a paywall seems quite sad.

    Fitness... I, Darren used to be out doing long distance bike rides twice a week and have been meaning to sort out some kind of replacement activity since moving into Perse which shockingly is nearly a year ago. But a huge well done Steve, sweat in the eye is the pain of success.
    We love the new interior decorating, really love jazzy vibrant colours. Might have to try something like that in Perse as bright colours aren't exactly the norm in motorhomes.

      You could probably get a couple of small bikes to put on the back of Perse maybe? Although I appreciate that's just another thing to carry in a big vehicle. But it might be an option and shouldn't extend the van length by much. It is hard in a van though for so many reasons. That said, you guys do plenty of walking so I'd say you're getting your fair share of exercise!
      Nearly a year already, that's shocking..! We have found time to go quicker than ever in a van. Ironic, given it's a time in our lives to savour for when it one day ends.
      The stickers were a relatively cheap quick fix, but they do brighten it up so much, its definitely worth doing. I quite like that they looked a bit Moroccan or something.
      The wee walk...well, that was quite some walk of shame 😂 It took me over an hour. Usually we have it done quickly and try to find park ups the night before where we can do it the next day. Not always possible in the UK of course. Sometimes we've even used supermarket toilets - can you imagine being bag searched on that day 🙈
      Anyway, yes it was so alien at first trying to film, but we soon adjusted. Our mistake was not giving ourselves a couple of days to travel without it first. I'm glad it didn't seem to show so much.
      Anyway, I guess I won't go into it all here, but love to you and Alison (and Bart too), thinking of you and hopefully see you soon ❤️

      @@comealongdear Thanks . I am just now i Sweden "picking up" my dog so he can return with me to Andalucía 😃 always so glad to see your videos. I have seen a lot and whats really unique with your channel is the combination of "down to earth really good left wing lovely people " and a lot of good banter. Hope you two will have a lovely time in the UK. And you are always so very welcome to the Sierra Nevada and nearby. Hugs

    Well done Steve on the running and losing the pounds. I agree on the morality of the profiteering on the park. It was still free last time we were there but I noticed the signs saying there would be a charge. Rubbish!!! We will not go there again. Great vlog. 🙌

      Hi ladies, thank you ❤️ We get things have to be paid for much of the time, it's the way the world is, but this one seems a little suspect and mean-spirited to us and we're not convinced it's entirely necessary! Hope you're both well x

    Daylight robbery UK is born in Hertfordshire North London Hatfield house was quite close to us me and my friends we used to go to Hatfield house and have picnics and on the land. I now have hurt over the last 20 odd years that they don’t allow people to go in for free and they charge going to the good days. I wish I was back in the 1970s😢 I know how you feel. I think everybody is feeling a bit flustered at the moment. I’m sat in my van pouring down with rain but I do like the rain. I must admit on the van. Take care

      @comealongdear  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We're with you on the rain thing! When circumstances are right we love being in the van and listening to the rain on the roof and outside...as long as it didn't ruin any plans that day 😂
      Yes I think these large parks being taken away from people, when there aren't *that* many around, is terrible, especially if it's clearly owned by wealthy people who can probably afford to keep it open. It feels mean-spirited with very dubious justifications...

    Hello Boys!! I'm glad to hear that Stevie has gotten the motivation to start running & getting in better shape. It surely will benefit you both dramatically. It's hard to keep up a bubbling attitude when your heart just isn't in it. The family that owns that park has to pay taxes & upkeep. They might be land rich & cash poor. They might have their fingers in a lot of pies, but they might not have a lot of cash flow. I'm not defending big money, but big money isn't as big as it used to be. I can imagine that property (council) taxes are high in the UK. With the cost of employing staff anymore, new avenues of revenue has to be found. Again, I'm not defending big money, I'm just stating how money works. Big bear hugs from Kenny in Ohio, USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The colorful stickers are a delightful change to Daisy!!

      @comealongdear  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Kenny! ❤️ I hope you're doing well. The benefits of the running are already paying off for Steve, which is great to see, but it's also good for me too as it's made me build my own routine rather than aimlessly doing it on random days, so its given me structure too. Definitely working out, and good for mood too 😍
      I hear you on the money front, and we always like hearing another side to it. We knew it definitely wasn't a simple case of asking for money for money's sake, and you're right they'll undoubtedly have lots to pay out for. That said, their turnover appears to be in the millions each year - while much will be outgoing costs, I would assume (given how many immense properties they own in the area to rent out and that's just for starters) they have a nice profit, but it could be wrong and we definitely try to keep that in mind. If they do have problems, I'm not sure £4 entry to a park is going to solve it. Apparently, the fee is for the park upkeep. I'd be surprised if they can't pay for that, and if there is issues, perhaps they'd be better off selling some of their many many assets so that perhaps locals could keep a green space they've used for exercise and to access the outdoors etc for centuries. But it's never simple at all and we do very much take your point on board. Sounds to me like owning too much land and property is likely not worth the hassle 😂
      Anyway I'm glad you like the stickers! Just a bit of fun to brighten up our humble little abode 😁 Take care of yourself and big hugs to you in Ohio 🤗❤️

    Yes I get it, the vibe wasn't right in the Cirencester park, but as long as the weather's on your side you should enjoy the freedom of the Black Mountains and Brecons..

    How toxic is your pee? Cant you tip it on nature? I have had a sore shoulder for weeks but I wouldnt be dead for quids, moaning is such fun.😉The tiles look great, could two obese people pass on that bridge? Will you be mentioning place names in Wales in Welsh or English? 🤪 Welcome back 👍

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good evening! Or whatever time it is there, a godforsaken hour I should think. Hopefully the weather has been behaving recently? Are you still getting a scarily hot spring?
      Well apparently pee IS good for plants, but I'm not sure the locals would see it that way 🙈 We need to keep our precious park ups, even if no one is around.
      Thank you for sending me down a rabbit hole of obscure phrases, this one seemingly Australian, although apparently it might have originated here?! Never heard that about quids before but I like it 😁 I hope your shoulder improves, try some exercises or stretching it perhaps?
      The bridge was ropier than it looked - with their 6 person warning and many ignoring it, I dread to to think if a few larger folk descended at once, or a group of excitable tourists rushing en masse 🙈
      We had fun with a bit of Welsh for 5 minutes but erm, I think we'll leave it to the experts mostly 😉 A lovely sounding language though and surprising just how prevalent it is here, all road signs, supermarkets etc have everything in Welsh, often primarily over English. Feels like being abroad, apart from the British weather 🤪
      Take care and thank you 😊

      @@comealongdear HI, it was 10pm when I saw your latest video so watched and went to bed, helping at the op shop Monday so early start. The weather here has been barely tolerable, lots and lots of wind and not much rain. My shoulder has been sore for over a month, hurts when I reach behind, physio didnt help much but I have 4 more free visits so hoping. That bridge looked barely wide enough for a fat bugger, surely two couldnt pass. I love the Welsh accents, they have a quizzical lilt? Have fun and keep us homebodies informed and entertained. 🍻

    • @comealongdear
      @comealongdear  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh I meant when I replied, I think it was 6pm here so the absolute dead of night where you are. A shame about the weather, but better than horrific heatwaves I guess. I hope your shoulder finds some resolution, I know it's not easy. Sometimes it feels like if they can't find anything they discharge you forever and recommend painkillers. Maybe look into different stretches, though you'd think physio would cover that.
      Now the Welsh accent is quizzical indeed, and both Stephen and myself declare it to be one of the sexiest accents in the UK. As for Welsh men, WELL...perhaps we'll just move here 😉

      @@comealongdear My physio has found my problem, the pain was when I swung my arm behind my back. He worked out if I shrug as I do it it doesnt hurt so has taped my shoulder and suggested I shrug more whilst holding a 3kg weight. All pains are different but maybe Steve's is similar? 🤷🏻‍♂

      Sorry if that didn't come across how it was intended, we weren't saying it's the same thing, as we tried to emphasise in the video, more that we can understand why people bring up those roots, and their wealth being founded upon it, and now taking a valuable green space away from people unless you pay for it despite the fact its been open to the public for centuries. It's not the same thing - but it doesn't sit right and history does play a part in that for the reasons we tried to go into. There's some articles online that articulate this much better than we could.
