Rounds 13 and 14 am i suppose to knit rows 11 and 12 for 13 and 14?

It was very interesting that you used even larger needles than recommended. I wondered how your neckline came out so wide. I want a wider neckline than the 26" suggested in the pattern but not quite as wide as yours. I'm going for a cast on 10 sts wider than suggested.

That was cool, I was especially interested in the sweater that you have cut into to fix the neck…. something people rarely show. I have done something similar and was pleased I took the time to do it. I would put a life line in now, so that you can come back to this place if things go awry. Hopefully they won’t 😜. Short rows sound good if you need to raise the back neck. I went down a needle size or two for the ribbing. It was still a little wide after blocking, so did a crochet chain on the inside at the start of the ribbing and that worked well to stabalise things. Good luck and looking forward to seeing how it works out.

Thank you for this wonderful and inspiring episode! I love your Sian sweater so so much. I admire your determination to conquer the A Line shaping with your long torso. I recently tried drop spindling but never filled up the spindle. I did find it relaxing, but I honestly am such a newbie spinner I have no idea what I’m doing… I just know that I (mostly) enjoy it. Thank you also for sharing your childhood memory behind the weaving you created. I really like that idea of transmuting and transformation those less than pleasant parts of our history!

Kim of the Ewethful Fiber Farm & Mill channel showed on her latest episode (88) how you can take your yarn off your spindle as either a singles yarn, or ply it, in a super easy way, with just a knitting needle and a box. Hope that helps 😊 In addition to knitting, I’m also enjoying collage & sketching trees. 🍂

I have loved the Sian jumper since I first saw it . Yours looks lovely. I don’t have a large stash but like you have some I’m not sure what to use it for. The green and grey together looks beautiful. My Father used to make moccasin style shoes and I remember helping him with the stitching , not easy! But will be so comfortable . The only other craft I’ve done recently is to sew a project bag with scraps of material and I’m learning to spin . I transferred my fibre from the drop spindle onto the inner cardboard of toilet rolls and then plied the two together. It did work ! Good luck

I recently knit the porty cardigan (one of my favourite ever makes!) and would recommend knitting it straight. That's what I did and I am really enjoying the fit on my long torso. As you say, the buttons-at-the top style makes it lie in an A-line shape without shaping needing to be created through the knitting. Your version looks beautiful so far!

I enjoy your videos so very much. As for other crafts besides knitting and crochet, I just started my first attempt at building a miniature cat cafe kit today. It's quite fun. Takes time. But I love it.

I really love your Sian sweater which looks wonderful on you ! As far as 'A-line' shaping goes I think it suits women with hourglass type figures very well whereas a dead straight design is not always as flattering. For those who have bodies which may be less curvy it would not look as well. Knit for your own body shape and if a more oblong design suits better it is easy enough to ignore increases and decreases if you wish - they were not often seen at all in knits of the mid-late 20th Cent. I usually add a few increases over my hips as I veer in and out quite fast - we are all most certainly different and unique in our shapes and proportions. Thanks for a great podcast !

beautiful work as usual. Next time you wash your son sweater put a cup of vinegar in the water, it should help set the color, the smell dissipates very quickly.

I was think about making this as my second knit garment. I just finished a tank top with a bamboo yarn(truboo)

It looks really great! You inspired me to knit the top from Holst garn Coast. But the original pattern is knitted bottom up and no top down. Will see, how it will work. Good job!

Thank you for this helpful video! I’m ready to knit my first ranunculus. I am usually a gauge swatcher but I don’t know how to know if I “like the fabric” when it’s such a loose stitch or if it will look sloppy and unprofessional. Your comments at the end were insightful but I don’t want to have to frog it, especially if my yarn includes mohair.

Hi! I just stumbled upon your channel, and coincidentally I am knitting my 2nd and 3rd Ranunculus! The first I knit with fingering weight cashmere and wool and it’s dreamy! I am now knitting one with Madeline Tosh light fingering, it’s coming out very Lacey and light, perfect for summer. My third I am knitting with a pink bamboo, hope that looks ok, we will see. Anyway, love your channel and love your sweater!

My friend and I are struggling to get that wide neck. Did blocking help it get that wide? I've knit it per pattern instructions for the wide neck I just haven't blocked it. First time using a mohair. On my second one I've cast on 90 sts and ribbed on the bigger needle size. Lol hopefully that wasn't an overkill. I'm typing this as you finished talking about the needle size. Maybe there is hope but if you have any more wisdom to add to this that would be great!

Very late to the party. On my second one, and I've knit three, I made more short rows in the back. Instead of 4 or 5 and turn, I knit 3 or 4. Made it not droop in the back.
