Australian Fire Service crews are a lot faster, you might learn from them, they actually put fires out, no standing around with their fingers up their clackers. But I hear that in the USA they are good at saving chimneys.

It's mind boggling how SLOW firefighers can be in the USA. Here's another prime example. From Chrissake, the house is made of wood, it burns quickly, what are they thinking these firefighters?

That house was gone from the very start…. Nothing to save…sadly.. not when you have flames blowing through the entire roof. Still wondering how 2 ladders and a ladder/engine showed up before any engines. That was odd.

It baffles me as to why it takes American firefighters so very long to put water on a fire. They seem to be more focused on using entry tools to break into a building and ventilate it before putting water on the fire.

Everybody who isn't fighting the fire freely gives advice to those who are fighting the fire.

My first thought: this is a perfect deck gun set up. Let’s see what transpires. Sure enough, they pulled the engine away and proceeded with a hand line. Why??? Boston or FDNY would have used a deck gun. Not these bozos.

When I was on NEVER were the civilians allowed down a drop-ladder unescorted. I even see civilians on ladders alone now. We always placed a 20" next to FE because it was safer than the drop-ladder. And we DID NOT vent until water was flowing.

Homeowner seems pretty calm with the situation, which makes me believe he asked the firemen to let the house burn up to the point of no return. So he can get full amount from the insurance company. If they put the fire out as they got there, homeowner would get only partial renovation paid for by his insurance.

I watch a lot of these and find that they often seem to take a lot more time than necessary to get water on the fire.
