In San Francisco several years ago a firefighter suffered life threatening injuries when a garage door closed on the hose, cutting off the water. The door was open when the firefighters arrived and closed for an unknown reason. There was a similar incident in Australia, this time involving a very heavy industrial roller door which closed under power on a hose which fortunately did not result in injury; in this case the door had been opened from the control panel inside, but closed due to a timing function as the power had not been isolated.
He may be the cheif but he is not in proper gear!!!! He should carry his ppe in his pov (personal owned vehicle) so he can put it on before he enters a working fire scene.
It looked like there was power still working in the garage, judging by the garage lights in front was lite. As long as firefighters gainfully were entering front doors , why didn’t they try entering garage and used door switch to enter instead of chainsaws to destroy completely ! After gaining entry their didn’t appear fire damage in side, door might have been destroyed for no reason!
Why would you raise the door up lmao. Fire extends up. After the main body of fire is knocked down you have to pull the ceiling down to check for extension of fire. Are you stupid😂
I guess l can agree about the non/skill of these firefighters,sadly, are these volunteers? Even so , most volumters are paid by municipal gov. So it’s not gratis,

On the garage door part im confused? The usual working pressure of a firehose can vary between 8 and 20 bar (800 and 2,000 kPa; 116 and 290 psi) That garage door had to be made of solid steel i assume

At least the bushes got watered. Is this a real fire department, what a joke, especially the chief who should be reprimanded for looking that way at a fire. He is definitely not a professional chief.
fire chief silver is in shorts no gear at all . should be fully suited up this includes a scba you should not be on a fire scene this close wearing beach cloths
why use the garage door opener thats sitting in the car in the driveway or even opening it from the inside when we can just smash the shit out of the garage door
For firefighter safety. The latch mechanisms can and do fail when the doors are open, potentially trapping guys inside. So to avoid this we just take the door completely out of the equation.
@@Nervegas What latch mechanism? It's just a pair of springs to balance the weight of the door. Nothing is going to fail. They just do it because they can and it's an excuse to get the saw out and cut something.
Running on the fireground causes you to miss things that can lead to tunnel vision. It was a box burning in the garage, please tell me who was losing their home at this call? Since you know everything?

The electronics for the door can fail, causing it to shut and pinch the hose, etc. It's happened before, a few times.
