2ND ALARM CHRISTMAS EVE - HICKSVILLE NY

At 17:13 hours on Christmas Eve, Hicksville Chief 9301 gave a verbal for a working house fire at 31 maple place. A couple of minutes later a 2nd alarm was transmitted. There was also reports of people trapped on the second floor. E935 and TL931 were first due. A signal 12 was transmitted after about an hour. There was no injuries reported

If people were reported trapped, why were the firefighters not ready to enter the building, as they arrived. Could have been that vital seconds were lost, as they faffed around with their BA, at the door.
