How and where do you plug the steering wheel and the pedals?

Those look like 12V wiper motors. I suppose those are a bit stronger though. Currently i'm still in the process of making my own pedals.

Hi dave can you give me the link to the wiring diagram for three motors, i cant for the life of me find it on xsimulator?! i can only find the diagram for two. Also one more question does each motor need its own power supply as the diagram shows one but then your videos have two... many thanks! keep up the great videos its really helping me build my own project

Hey Dave, I just found all your videos and I tip my hat to you. Your videos are great and very useful. I wanted to ask your opinion on one thing though. What sort of feeling or sensation do you lose if you didn’t have the traction loss? I want to make one of these but I’m weighing the option of the traction loss motor. Does it make more difference if you are using VR? If you weren’t using VR does it add to the experience still? Thank you for your time

What did you use for your arm? Is that mind steel? How thick? Thanks. I purchased these after watching your video but it looks like you changed to different motors later?

hey bro thanks for the help i build a 2dof then upgraded it to a 3dof with pitch roll and surge, also if you use the cheap potentiometer there is some static from the psu just make sure they a far apart.

Hi, I have a question for you. I'm building my 2-dof simulator. I'm using 24 volt windshield wiper motors and I'm using a 24 volt 25 amp computerized power supply. Is it normal that when the motor has to use more force, the power supply stops for a second? It sounds like it turns off for a second.

I have been watching your videos for a long time, made various size simulators and now want to go deeper. I'd like to control the simulator directly via an accelerometer (mpu6050). Alas it is a coding scenario which is beyond me. I thought maybe Rene might be able to assist, unless you know of anyone else who can assist?

Great details. Knowing to suck it up and get the 4 quart double deal is piece of mind. Especially if buying 2 sets is less than buying two individual kits. Mattress travel bag was clever. That’s what I’m going to use coz it seems similar to the real f1 custom foam seats you can find drivers sitting for. It’s acting weird because you have not tuned the PID parameters (Kp, Ki, Kd). P is power (think zero rpm high torque), I is inertia to control overshoot, D is damper to stop it ringing. Look up “Horizon 4 electronics” video called “PID demo”. Also your understanding of the PWM pulse width min max etc is wrong. You want to end up with them maxed after PID tuning.

I know this is super late but you came to the wrong conclusion. It might be the motor need upgrade, and you did get bigger motors, but might not have been needed. You didn’t tune the PID parameters. The yellow is supposed to be super close to the green. It stalled because the pid wasn’t tuned to give a huge amount of amperage when you needed the torque. I get you’re it an electrical engineer and I am, but I don’t want you giving the wrong advice out of no fault of your own, coz you can’t know what you don’t know. There are great pid educational videos with how the parameters affect what’s going on. Search for some and you’ll have a much better solution.

You have mentioned in your video that one is faster without motion but one has less fun. I disagree: I am faster with my motion rig and have more fun! 😀Back in covid time I´ve discovered your channel. Short time after I build my 1st seatmover with wipermotors. Now I own a self build 5 DOF motionplatform with linear motion actuators that can lift a ton. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction.
